B-Tier Builds
Sorcerer Builds
Starting off in the B-Tier, we have Lightning Spear and the Ball Lightning Sorcerer builds. These are fan favorites, and while there are several exciting changes coming for the Ball Lightning Sorcerer, it still falls short in terms of DPS when compared to higher-tier builds.
Despite its popularity, the Ball Lightning Sorcerer doesn’t rank above B-Tier because its damage output in the highest levels is just not enough to compete.
That being said, this build is still a solid choice for clearing Tier 4 content and speedrunning, as Sorcerers have historically excelled in mobility.
With some of the new offensive tools this season, the Ball Lightning build has improved compared to last season, so it’s worth keeping an eye on.
One build that has notably moved up is the Fireball Sorcerer. Historically, this build has been strong, especially when paired with Shatter, but it received some key buffs that make it even better. For instance, the Firebolt enchantment has been improved, along with other enhancements, making fire-focused builds stronger overall.
One of the major upgrades is the ability to unleash an extra Firebolt at nearby enemies, which boosts the build’s AoE damage potential. Previously, this was more of a single-target-focused build, but the added AoE capability makes it a standout choice for Season 7.
At the moment, this is shaping up to be the strongest Sorcerer build, with its combination of Firebolt and Shatter performing exceptionally well.
For players interested in experimenting with vampiric powers and other new mechanics, there are plenty of options to explore within this build. Be sure to check the patch notes and descriptions for specific synergies to maximize its potential.
Spiritborn Builds
Moving on, we also see Spiritborn builds in the B-Tier. Notable options include Crushing Hands, which has seen significant changes, particularly with the removal of Resolve stacking, drastically altering its effectiveness.
There’s still Touch of Death, Stinger Payback, and Thorns builds, which remain solid choices. However, their strength doesn’t match some of the top-tier Spiritborn builds like Quill Volley, which we’ll discuss in more detail later.
The removal of Resolve stacking has caused a decline in the power of some Spiritborn builds, particularly Crushing Hands. This has shifted the balance, leaving these builds sitting in the B-Tier.
Pure Hota Barbarian
Another B-Tier entry worth mentioning is the Pure Hota Barbarian. While it’s not the strongest version of Hota (the Hota combined with Earthquake build is much more powerful), it still holds its own thanks to several buffs.
Recent updates have introduced improvements to the base Hota build, with changes to chest pieces and adjustments in patch notes that include direct buffs to Hammer of the Ancients’ DPS multipliers.
Though it ranks solidly in the B-Tier, the Pure Hota build remains a viable and enjoyable option. It’s worth noting that builds incorporating Death Blow, Bash, or even general Overpower mechanics are also performing well and can provide unique and satisfying gameplay.
Rogue Builds and Shadow Clone Synergies
Rogue builds have shown promise this season, with several ranking in the A-Tier and some bordering on S-Tier. A particularly exciting aspect of the Rogue is the Shadow Clone ability, which synergizes well with builds like Twisting Blades and Scoundrel’s Kiss.
The combination of Shadow Clone with twisting or scoundrel mechanics creates a powerful and enjoyable playstyle.
Another noteworthy build is Dance of Knives, which has proven effective for speedrunning. However, it does tend to drop off in higher-tier content. Even so, this build and others utilizing Shadow Clone make Rogue a compelling class to explore.

Druid Summons and Hurricane
Finally, Druid companion builds, particularly Wolf Companion Druids, have received significant buffs to their summons and minions. This makes these builds stronger than they’ve been in previous seasons.
Additionally, the Hurricane Druid remains a strong choice, as its snapshot Overpower mechanics are still highly effective.
Overall, Druids retain a strong presence in the B-Tier, with builds like Hurricane and summons-focused setups offering reliable performance. The improvements to minions and summons, in particular, make these builds a joy to play.
A-Tier Builds Overview
Shred Druid
Let’s begin with the Shred Druid, a fan-favorite build that’s received a significant rework in Season 7. This build, centered around the Blur Beast mechanics, is incredibly fast and offers a ton of fun. The Shred Druid excels at speed and versatility, making it one of the top A-Tier choices.
However, the Boulder Druid, another contender for the Druid class, has been moved down to B-Tier. The footage we’ve seen from the PTR (Public Test Realm) showcased an infinite damage bug with Boulder, which allowed the build to deal massive, unintended damage.
Since that bug has been fixed, the Boulder Druid no longer has the same overpowered scaling. It now relies more on poison mechanics, which still hold up well in the B-Tier, but it’s no longer a dominant force.
The Shred Druid, meanwhile, remains the second-strongest Druid build, trailing only behind the Cataclysm Druid, which we’ll dive into shortly.
Rapid Fire and Rain of Arrows Rogue
The Rapid Fire and Rain of Arrows builds for Rogue are both shining this season. These builds benefit immensely from the Shadow Clone mechanic, which has synergized incredibly well with Rogue’s playstyle.
Rain of Arrows was already a top-performing build, and the new Ultimate scaling mechanics introduced in Season 7 have made it even stronger. Blood Spear Necromancer

Fireball Sorcerer and Razor Wing Spiritborn
The Fireball Sorcerer, which we’ve already touched on, continues to be an extremely powerful build thanks to its Firebolt enchantment and the overall improvements to fire mechanics in Season 7.
On the Spirit Boar side, Razor Wing builds have become a major highlight this season. There’s been a surge of buffs to Razor Wing mechanics, with new items and expanded size caps allowing for up to 15 active boomerangs.
This boomerang-focused build is incredibly exciting and might even become one of the standout builds of the season.
While Eagle Spirit builds were already strong, the addition of these buffs to Razor Wings makes them even more formidable.

Footage from PTR gameplay shows this build effortlessly clearing Tier 150 Nightmare Dungeons, with damage numbers reaching up to 100 trillion per hit.
The key to this build’s success lies in its ability to pull large groups of enemies together and melt them in seconds. Even with slight nerfs to Willpower scaling on the Rune Master, the DPS remains incredible.
This build is particularly satisfying to play, as you can run around while the storm you summon tears through enemies, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.
The Cataclysm Druid combines power, speed, and fun, making it one of the most rewarding builds of the season.
The Druid class as a whole is performing exceptionally well, with several strong options available despite minor adjustments to other builds. Even after the nerfs to Boulder, the Cataclysm Druid stands tall as a top-tier powerhouse.
Blood Wave Necromancer
The undisputed strongest build of Season 7 is the Blood Wave Necromancer. This build brings overwhelming power through Overpower mechanics, auto-cursing, and pixel-pull synergy, allowing it to obliterate enemies in seconds.
On the PTR, this build demonstrated the ability to one-shot nearly everything in Tier 150 Nightmare Dungeons, delivering damage numbers in the thousands of trillions.
While some nerfs have been introduced, reducing its overall power by about 10–15 times, it remains incredibly strong. Even with the nerfs, the build’s damage still clocks in at hundreds of trillions, ensuring its dominance in both single-target and AoE situations.
The Blood Wave Necromancer is not only efficient but also highly mobile, making it a versatile and enjoyable choice for players. Its combination of overwhelming damage, fast movement, and strong utility cements its place as the top build of the season.
Overall Class Power Rankings
Necromancer: The Outlier
The Necromancer stands out as the strongest class of Season 7. Experts predict that Necromancer builds, particularly the Blood Wave Necromancer, will likely be the first to clear Tier 150 Nightmare Dungeons. Even with recent nerfs, the damage output remains astronomical.
For instance, PTR footage showed thousands of trillions of damage being dealt in single hits. Even when you divide this output by ten or fifteen (post-nerf adjustments), the numbers still sit comfortably in the hundreds of trillions range, making Necromancer builds unmatched in sheer power.
This incredible damage scaling positions Necromancers at the top of the S-Tier. While it’s always possible that a bugged or broken build from another class may surface, the current state of Necromancer builds places them firmly ahead of the competition.
Druid: Strong Second Place
The Druid takes the second spot, benefiting from several strong builds such as the Cataclysm Druid and the Shred Druid. Despite nerfs to some mechanics, like Boulder, Druids are performing exceptionally well this season.
Builds like Cataclysm offer a unique and visually satisfying playstyle while maintaining the ability to clear high-tier content. Druids are eating well this season, proving themselves to be one of the most fun and rewarding classes to play.
Barbarian: Solid Third
In third place is the Barbarian, with standout builds like the Hota Quake Barbarian dominating. Thanks to the recent buffs to Earthquake mechanics and new chest armor like the Chest of the Mountains Fury, the Barbarian remains a powerhouse.

Best Way to Level Up in Diablo 4 Season 7
