Before You Start

Short Guide

Part 1: The Mastaba Search

Items needed: Combat gear, 3 dwellberries, ring of life

Items recommended: Stamina potion

  1. Travel to Uzer Oasis (fairy ring DLQ).
  2. Speak with Elias White.
  3. Enter Uzer Mastaba south on the hill.
  4. Inside the Mastaba:
    • Find first key from southernmost skeleton.
    • Get second key near stone boat (northwest).
    • Search odd markings in southeast corner to disable traps.
    • Pull southeast lever.
    • Disable northeast traps and pull lever.
  5. Enter western doors and defeat golem guard.
    • Watch for special attack (screen shakes).
    • Move one tile away when it happens.
  6. Cross colored tile puzzle:
    • Use either blue/green or yellow/red tiles.
    • Pull lever on other side.
  7. Search northern shelves for canopic jar.
  8. Enter southern room with Tumeken statue.
  9. Check southern mural.
  10. Use dwellberries, then ring of life on jar.
  11. Return to Elias (world hop to exit quickly).

Part 2: Trollweiss Mountain

Items needed: Pickaxe

Items recommended: Trollheim teleport, stamina potion

  1. Travel to Trollheim.
  2. Head northwest toward ice gate.
  3. Enter Trollweiss Dungeon to the west.
  4. Follow north path to crevasse.
  5. Climb to mountain summit.
  6. Enter eastern cave.
  7. Mine through rubble paths:
    • Each pile needs different angles.
    • Clear path to reach stairs.
  8. Speak with Arrav upstairs.
  9. Get base plans and key from eastern room tapestry.

Part 3: Zemouregal's Base

Items needed: Crossbow, mith grapple, insulated boots, base plans, key, combat gear

Items recommended: Stamina potion, antivenom, emergency teleport

  1. Return to Elias with plans.
  2. Head to Zemouregal's Base north of Digsite.
  3. Navigate base dungeon to kitchen icon.
  4. Enter kitchen and equip insulated boots.
  5. Use pipe on southern wall to enter sewer.
  6. Follow path to pipe exit.
  7. In southern room:
    • Search west table for decoder strips.
    • Open chest for code key.
    • Note the four-letter code.
  8. At metal doors:
    • Use decoder interface.
    • Enter numbers using arrows.
    • Each strip has order 1-4 on the left side.
    • Input the correct sequence.
  9. Cross fire traps:
    • Equip crossbow and grapple.
    • Click metal bars above traps.
  10. Final battle with Arrav:
    • Use Protect from Melee.
    • Watch for axe throw every third attack.
    • Move adjacent/behind when he throws.
    • Optional: Catch axe by unequipping weapon.
    • Kill armored zombies (10 HP each).
    • Avoid venom pools (4 damage per tick).
  11. Complete final dialogue with Elias.

Long Guide

Starting Out

Items needed: Combat gear, 3 dwellberries, ring of life

Items recommended: Stamina potion, 2 free inventory spaces

Looking to break Arrav from Zemouregal's control? You can jump straight into the action at Uzer Oasis. While some players wait for Elias's messenger for the full story, it's not necessary to start.

Head to Uzer Oasis using fairy ring DLQ. Find Elias White near the coast. He's been studying a particular branch of necromancy that matches Arrav's condition. His research led him to the Uzer Mastaba, where a Pharaoh Queen rests - someone known for helping victims of Mahjarrat magic.

Inside the Mastaba

The place is crawling with skeletons, but only two matter for your quest:

  • One at the southern end past the entrance.
  • Another northwest of the stone boat in the central room. Each holds a mastaba key you'll need.

Quick warning about the traps - check those odd wall markings in the northeast and southeast corners before pulling any levers. Skip this check and you'll get hit for 19 damage. Once you've dealt with the traps, use your keys on both levers to open the northern door.

Now for that golem guard. Watch the screen shake - that's when you move. Stay still and you'll eat three hits at 28 damage each. Just step one tile away when it winds up.

The Chamber Puzzle

Those colored tiles aren't just for show. Pick either combo:

  • Blue and green tiles.
  • Yellow and red tiles. Stick to the southern path. Pull the lever on the other side to shut them down for good.

The burial chamber holds several Menaphite god statues. Check the northern shelves for a canopic jar with sacred oil. Your next stop is Tumeken's room to the south. That mural shows exactly what you need - three dwellberries followed by the ring of life, in that order.

Want a quick exit? Just hop worlds - you'll land right outside.

Mountain Trek

Items needed: Pickaxe

Items recommended: Trollheim teleport, stamina potion, 2 inventory spaces

Word from Elias's scout places Zemouregal at an old fort near Trollweiss Mountain. Pack gear for the cold - you're headed to Trollheim. Take the northwest path toward the ice gate, then spot the Trollweiss Dungeon entrance west of it.

Tip: Flip on Protect from Melee - ice trolls hit up to 21 damage. Follow the northern tunnel until you spot a crevasse. After climbing through, run east to find the cave.

The Mining Puzzle

This cave's rubble works differently than you might expect:

  • Some spots need multiple hits.
  • Others only break from certain angles.
  • You'll circle around to clear paths properly.

Keep an eye out for stone tablets while mining. They tell quite a story about a Mahjarrat dodging ritual sacrifice - worth reading between mine spots.

Meeting Arrav

Clear the last rubble and climb those stairs. There's Arrav himself, warning you about Zemouregal's return. Before he's pulled away, he points you to a flame tapestry in the northeastern room. Behind it? The base plans and key you need.

The Base Raid

Items needed: Crossbow, mith grapple, insulated boots, filled canopic jar, base key, plans, combat gear

Items recommended: Digsite teleport, stamina potion, anti-venom, emergency teleport

Show those plans to Elias and he spots it - Arrav's heart, tucked away inside Zemouregal's Base. Security's tight, but Elias has a plan:

  • Wear insulated boots for the energy fields.
  • He'll occupy the guards.
  • Use your crossbow and grapple on those fire traps.

Before you go in - gear up properly. It's a forced fight with only teleports as escape. Pack anti-venom and bring that canopic jar if you're doing this in one go.

Breaking In

First stop is Zemouregal's Base, just west of the Odd Old Man. Hit the kitchen first (watch for the icon). From there:

  1. Slip on those insulated boots.
  2. Find the pipe on the southern wall.
  3. Follow the sewer path to its end.
  4. Check the western table for decoder strips.
  5. Pop open the chest for the code key.
  6. Remember that four-letter code.

The Final Battle

Items recommended: Stamina potion, anti-venom, emergency teleport, combat potions

Just as you reach for Arrav's heart, you'll spot Zemouregal and Sharathteerk - with Arrav ready to strike. Keep that teleport handy - you'll restart from the boots section if you bail.

Fighting Arrav

  • Normal hits get blocked by Protect from Melee.
  • Every third attack, he throws his axe.
  • Each throw hits for 28 damage.
  • Move beside or behind him during throws.
  • Pro tip: Drop your weapon to catch his axe for extra damage.

Watch those armored zombies too - 10 HP each but nasty. Their venom pools stack up to 20 damage per tick if you stand still. Best handled with range or magic - melee just puts you in the poison.

The Twist

Beat Arrav and Sharathteerk tries to teleport him away. But Elias bursts in:

  • Blocks the teleport spell.
  • Chains up both Mahjarrat.
  • Whisks you both to safety.

Elias stays quiet about his powers, focusing instead on Arrav's heart. While we've got it, breaking Zemouregal's control needs more work. He'll find you when he learns more.
