Do you plan on playing Path of Exile 2 anytime soon but you’re unsure which class to choose and, ultimately, what ascendancy class to pick? This is probably one of the biggest challenges that new PoE 2 players have to face, especially because there are just plenty of options to choose from.

Fortunately, we are here to provide you with the info you need to create the best build for each class. Stick with us as we talk about the best classes tier list in Path of Exile 2 Early Access!

Before we start, some of the best builds for each class use very expensive items. If you want to skip the grind and get your hands on them as soon as possible, then visit our PoE 2 Store.

What Are Classes and Ascendancies?

When you fire up Path of Exile 2 for the first time, you will be asked to choose a class. Right now, you can select one of six different classes in PoE 2 Early Access, including the Sorceress, Ranger, Monk, Warrior, Mercenary, and Witch.

Each of these classes undergo Trials of Ascendancy, which allow them to ascend to a higher class, thus unlocking new abilities. For example, the Sorceress can become a Stormweaver or a Chronomancer. The former is adept at harnessing the power of the elements, while the latter can affect time in more ways than one.

Having said that, here is a brief list of the classes and ascendancy classes that are available in Path of Exile 2 Early Access:

  • Sorceress
    • Stormweaver
    • Chronomancer
  • Ranger
    • Deadeye
    • Pathfinder
  • Monk
    • Invoker
    • Acolyte of Chayula
  • Warrior
    • Titan
    • Warbringer
  • Mercenary
    • Witch Hunter
    • Gemling Legionnaire
  • Witch
    • Bloodmage
    • Infernalist

The game encourages build diversity by giving you the tools to come up with awesome combinations. For instance, the Mercenary starts with a Crossbow in hand. However, you could have the Gemling Legionnaire use a quarterstaff instead, which is the default weapon for the Monk.

Path of Exile 2 Early Access has been out for more than a month now, so enough time has passed for the top builds to emerge. Our goal here is to highlight the builds that are worth your time and investment.

You can read our guide for the six classes in PoE 2 Early Access to learn about each class in more detail. If you want to know about the different ascendancies, check out our Path of Exile 2 ascendancy classes guide.

Criteria

So, how did we come up with our tier list? Well, there are several factors that we considered. The first is how easy it is to use the build. Path of Exile 2 is full of different mechanics that can overwhelm new players. We want to make sure that the builds we’re going to highlight in this article are relatively easy to use for both beginners and veterans of the game.

The second is how a build performs when it comes to clearing maps. Mapping is still the number one priority in Path of Exile 2 after you finish the campaign. For those who don’t know, mapping is an endgame activity where you activate Waystones to enter map nodes on the Atlas.

For the third, we considered the build’s popularity in the current meta. Some players naturally gravitate to builds that have so much power relative to investment costs. Of course, some builds are more costly than others, but the ones we are going to talk about here are definitely worth the PoE 2 Divine Orbs you invest in them.

Lastly, we looked at each build’s endgame viability. Some Path of Exile 2 builds are only good up to a certain point. However, there are those that have incredible potential in the later stages, which can only be unlocked by getting some high-end items like the Astramentis or Dream Fragments.

Best Classes Tier List

And now, the heart of this article. We will go over each of the ascendancy classes and highlight at least one build that you can try out for yourself. We are happy to say that these builds still work after what has transpired in Patch 0.1.1. You can learn about the biggest changes in Patch 0.1.1 in our dedicated article.

Take note that our tier list is arranged in descending order, so be sure to read the entire article to get to the best ones. So, without further ado, here is our best classes tier list for Path of Exile 2 Early Access:

D Tier

The classes in the D Tier are the weakest of the bunch. They are fine if you want to go off-meta and try to do something different than the vast majority of the player base. However, we will still give you the best builds for each ascendancy class so that you can judge for yourself if they really deserve to be in the lowest tier or not.

Warbringer

The Warbringer is a Warrior ascendancy class that utilizes warcry skills not only for utility but also for damage. This is intended for players who want a more balanced approach to playing Path of Exile 2 by dealing enough damage without sacrificing survivability.

If you want a beginner-friendly build that perfectly exemplifies what was said, then you can try the Corrupting Cry Warbringer. This build utilizes a support gem, Corrupting Cry, that empowers Seismic Cry to inflict a damage-over-time debuff called Corrupted Blood.

The Warbringer’s “Greatwolf’s Howl” ascendancy node is useful for this build mainly because it removes the cooldown of Seismic Cry, thereby allowing you to spam the skill multiple times. This is supplemented by Warcaller’s Bellow, which makes nearby corpses explode when you use a warcry like Seismic Cry or Infernal Cry.

In terms of defense, the Corrupting Cry Warbringer has Renly’s Training allocated. This ascendancy node enhances the block chance of any shield by ensuring that it gains a base value of 40%.

Corrupting Cry is good for killing magic and rare monsters. However, its damage is mediocre against bosses. So, to resolve that, the Corrupting Cry Warbringer uses the Ancestral Warrior Totem as well. This is a meta skill that can activate mace skills automatically the entire duration it’s up.

Speaking of mace skills, you will use Earthshatter here to deal huge amounts of damage. Furthermore, the spikes created by Earthshatter can be shattered by your warcry skills, effectively damaging nearby monsters in the process.

So as you can see, there is amazing skill synergy on the Corrupting Cry Warbringer. Sadly, it is brought down by its lower damage output compared to the other contenders on this list, thus its inclusion in the D Tier.

Regardless, the Corrupting Cry Warbringer is worth the shot for its ease of use and lower budget to pull off.

Witch Hunter

Before Path of Exile 2 Early Access went live, many speculated that the Witch Hunter was better than its brethren, the Gemling Legionnaire. However, after a month, it was found that the inverse is true in that the Witch Hunter is mediocre at best.

On paper, the ascendancy nodes available to the Witch Hunter are pretty good. Zealous Inquisition aids in clearing maps by making enemies you kill explode, dealing a massive amount of damage to nearby monsters. You couple that with the culling strike and decimating strike from Pitiless Killer and Judge, Jury, and Executioner, and you have a seemingly awesome kit meant for pure offense.

Although there’s no doubt that the aforementioned ascendancy nodes help improve map-clearing efficiency, their performance in the endgame struggles when mapping with eight-mod Waystones. Monsters in Tier 15 and above have a lot of HP, making the Witch Hunter’s offensive capabilities underwhelming.

The Witch Hunter is still fun to play, especially if you want to use the crossbow as your main weapon. That said, the Galvanic Shards Witch Hunter is the build we recommend if you are going to try this ascendancy class.

The said build has many iterations but die-hard Witch Hunters agree that Galvanic Shards and Shockburst Rounds should be paired together. The former is an incredible skill to use for getting rid of normal, magic, and rare monsters. The latter is mainly for single-target damage, leveraging Shock to deal huge damage to enemies affected by the said elemental ailment.

Some even incorporate the Stormcaller Arrow only for the purpose of inflicting Shock on the enemy. Now, Stormcaller Arrow requires you to equip a bow to use. That’s why a bow and quiver should be set on weapon swap. Don’t worry, the process of switching weapons to utilize Stormcaller Arrow is a seamless one.

On the defensive side, you can take advantage of Sorcery Ward, which is a new defensive layer that is unlocked by taking Obsessive Rituals from the Mercenary ascendancy tree.

The Galvanic Shards Witch Hunter is undoubtedly good for mapping, though it falls short when fighting against pinnacle bosses. Be that as it may, if you are looking for a good Mercenary build, the Galvanic Shards Witch Hunter is not bad at all.

Acolyte of Chayula

Just like the Witch Hunter, the Monk’s ascendancy class, Acolyte of Chayula, has fallen off significantly from the top of the rankings. It used to be a very good starter build because of the buffs provided by Waking Dream. However, it quickly turned out to be an average ascendancy class mainly due to the nature of chaos damage in Path of Exile 2, where damage is distributed over time rather than in a direct manner.

At the moment, the best build for this ascendancy class is the Poison Gas Arrow Acolyte of Chayula. Gas Arrow is a DoT ability that can put multiple stacks of poison on an enemy provided that the appropriate notable passive skills, such as Stacking Toxins and Building Toxins, are allocated as well.

Plague Bearer is also utilized to deal heavy poison damage in an area. Every time you poison an enemy using Gas Arrow, Plague Bearer stores some of that poison, which can then be unleashed via Plague Nova. As the name implies, Plague Nova spreads this deadly poison in an area that, in this build, is both for eliminating single targets and groups of enemies.

What makes those skills potent is the Acolyte of Chayula’s Reality Rending ascendancy node. This grants a chance to deal extra chaos damage just by hitting enemies. To make this count, you have to increase your attack speed by equipping a well-rolled Dualstring Bow, preferably with “bow attacks fire an additional arrow.”

The Poison Gas Arrow Acolyte of Chayula may not top the charts in the current state of PoE 2 Early Access. However, it does offer something worth looking at, particularly if you are into off-meta builds.

C Tier

The ones that you are going to see in the C Tier are a tad better than the classes in the D Tier. Just know that they are still relatively mediocre, though they may have some interesting mechanics that make them worthwhile to play.

Chronomancer

Do you want to play a build in Path of Exile 2 that lets you cast skills with supposedly long cooldown times immediately after the first use? If so, the Chronomancer is the ascendancy class for you!

Now, because the Chronomancer is an ascendancy class for the Sorceress, you might assume that the best build for it uses a wand, right? After all, a wand ties into the fantasy of playing a powerful spellcaster who can harness the power of time magic. Normally, you aren’t wrong in that assumption. However, the best Chronomancer build is actually far from using a cutesy wand and opts for a mace and shield instead.

The reason for using a mace is so that the Chronomancer can use Hammer of the Gods. In case you don’t know, HotG has a cooldown of 24 seconds, which is an eternity in Path of Exile 2. Thanks to the Chronomancer’s Time Snap ascendancy node, you don’t have to wait a full 24 seconds just to use it again shortly after the first cast.

To take things up a notch, Now and Again gives you a one-in-three chance to not consume a cooldown, making it possible for Hammer of the Gods to be usable without Time Snap’s help! If you are lucky, you can spam HotG several times before it goes into cooldown!

Aside from those two amazing nodes, the Chronomancer feels right at home utilizing mace skills and being in melee range thanks to her ability to recuperate life via Circular Heartbeat and The Rapid River. Circular Heartbeat allows you to recoup 30% of the damage you’ve taken as life, and The Rapid River hastens the process of recuperation by expediting it from eight seconds to just four seconds.

Despite how awesome the Hammer of the Gods Chronomancer is, its C Tier ranking reflects the slow nature of mace skills, in general. If you don’t mind that limitation, have a go with this build and let us know what you think down in the comments!

Titan

The Titan, to put it bluntly, is a slow class. Sure, there is no weapon limitation in PoE 2 Early Access, so you can have him use a fast-attacking weapon if you really want to. However, the best way to bring out his full potential is by sticking to what he knows best: Bashing skulls with a mighty blow from his trusty two-handed mace.

Coincidentally, the best build for this ascendancy class is the Hammer of the Gods Titan. Unlike the Chronomancer, which leverages the huge damage from HotG to inflict massive bleeding damage to enemies, the Titan version leans more to fire damage via Ignite. The Avatar of Fire keystone passive is what makes this build possible because it forces most of your non-fire damage to deal fire damage instead.

Since this build doesn’t have access to Time Snap, the Hammer of the Gods Titan goes about it in another way by utilizing Stampede for mapping and Perfect Strike for bossing. How much fire damage over time enemies suffer from via Ignite depends on the damage of the hit that caused it. That’s why Perfect Strike is good for that purpose, particularly when you increase its quality to 20% using PoE 2 Gemcutter’s Prisms.

Speaking of Ignite, you want to make sure that Hammer of the Gods enhances Ignite by using the appropriate support gems, such as Fist of War, Eternal Flame, and Searing Flame. If the initial hit doesn’t take care of the boss, the damage over time from Ignite will.

Since the Hammer of the Gods Titan is the only viable build for said ascendancy class in the endgame, expect high physical damage maces to cost a substantial amount. Luckily, the unique amulet Xoph’s Blood, which is a complementary piece that makes enemies suffer from Fire Exposure when they’re near you, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to obtain.

B Tier

If the classes in the C Tier are average, then the ones in the B Tier are above average. The reason why they are here is that they lack something that will make them truly stand out. However, you cannot go wrong with the B Tier classes because they should handle almost all content without a hitch, provided that enough investment is made to utilize their potential.

Pathfinder

The Pathfinder ascendancy class has some serious potential with enough investment into gear. That said, the best build for this is the Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder, which leans on dealing critical damage with every use of the skill. Wait, isn’t poison damage dealt over time? Yes, you are right! However, things are different here due to the nature of Poisonous Concoction.

Poisonous Concoction deals damage in a couple of ways. The first is the initial hit, which can land and deal critical damage to those unfortunate enough to be at the receiving end. The second is through a gas cloud that deals more poison damage compared to other similar skills.

Although you hurl damaging concoctions at the enemy by hand, you are actually using a bow on this build called the Widowhail. This is only meant to amplify the modifiers on your equipped quiver. Ideally, you want a corrupted one that can go above 270%, but 250% ain’t bad if that is all you can afford for now.

The quiver is an essential component of the build and it needs certain modifiers to make it count. You want a Visceral Quiver to begin with, which is a quiver that has an increased critical hit chance implicit modifier. Additionally, the quiver must have both critical hit chance and critical damage bonus mods on the explicit to allow you to crit more consistently.

More importantly, the quiver should have “+2 to level of all Projectile Skills.” When you have enough increased effect mods, your Poisonous Concoction skill can go as high as level 34 with the right gear!

Now, Poisonous Concoction deals significant damage to bosses. However, it falls short when it comes to map clear. Fortunately, you can address that by wearing the Corpsewade boots. These unique boots decompose nearby corpses automatically (via the aptly named “Decompose” skill), making them emit a poisonous gas cloud in a relatively large area.

It is important to keep in mind that this build does not work without ascending the Ranger class for the first time. This is because Poisonous Concoction is now locked behind an ascendancy node (Brew Concoction). For those who don’t know, Poisonous Concoction is also available in PoE 1, though you can use it just by inserting the appropriate skill gem.

If you want to try the Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder, level up using Lightning Rod and Lightning Arrow until about level 55+. This is so that you’ll have enough passive skill points to take Pure Chaos and other chaos damage-related nodes on the tree.

Bloodmage

The Witch class in Path of Exile 2 is the quintessential option if you want to run minion builds. It is just a matter of which ascendancy nodes you prefer. That said, the Bloodmage gives you a pretty huge critical hit boost thanks to Sunder the Flesh. Typically, spells have a base crit of 8% or 10%, which is not that good. However, when you have Sunder the Flesh allocated, the base crit chance for spells is increased to 15%, so you want to capitalize on that by allocating critical hit/critical damage nodes on the passive tree.

There are a couple of awesome Bloodmage builds in PoE 2 Early Access. The most accessible is the Detonate Dead Bloodmage. This build has the power to explode corpses or minions for tons of damage and the gear to get this going is not even expensive at all!

You will use Enezun’s Charge as one of your weapons to grant a 25% chance to not consume corpses with every cast of Detonate Dead. People tend to use a Vaal Orb on the unique wand to further increase that effect. Because of how cheap Enezun’s Charge is, you can definitely Vaal it to achieve this.

On the off-hand, you need a well-rolled sceptre with high amounts of Spirit. Spirit is necessary because this is the resource used for summoning minions in Path of Exile 2. One of your minions should be the Skeletal Brute because of its high HP relative to the other skeletal minions. In case you’re wondering why the Skeletal Brute is mentioned, you can use Detonate Dead on your minions when you have Sacrifice enabled.

Because this build requires a ton of Spirit, you can read our Path of Exile 2 Spirit Guide to learn more about this new resource. It covers everything you need to know about Spirit, such as what it is, how it’s used, and where to get it, among others.

Detonate Dead Bloodmage is not the only good build for this ascendancy class. If PoE 2 Currency is not an issue, you can definitely try the Blink Autobomber Bloodmage build. This utilizes the very expensive Temporalis body armor to effectively negate Blink’s cooldown, allowing you to spam it freely. Every time you use Blink, you set in motion several meta skills that begin with the Greater Lightning Bolt skill from another unique item known as Choir of the Storm.

The reason why the Detonate Dead Bloodmage is more accessible is because the Blink Autobomber does not function without the necessary unique items. Detonate Dead can work with minimal investment, so you might want to try that build over the more expensive autobomber if you want to play as the Bloodmage in Path of Exile 2.

A Tier

Now we’re in the A Tier! The classes in this group are amazing and you cannot go wrong with any of them. The only reason why they are here is that they lack something that could have propelled them to the top of the charts. Still, the A Tier classes are worth looking at if those in the S Tier are too out of reach.

Infernalist

The Infernalist is another PoE 2 ascendancy class that focuses on commanding minions to do her bidding. If the Bloodmage is adept at making her subservient allies explode, then the Infernalist leverages their abilities to kill enemies (all without blowing themselves up in doing so).

Although the Infernalist is mainly known for her ability to transform into a demon, her best build actually doesn’t require her to do that. Instead, she summons her loyal Infernal Hound to take some damage away from her while she commands her other minions.

Anyway, the Minion Army Infernalist can summon more than 20 allies with the right gear. The reason why she can do that is because of Beidat’s Will, which grants additional Spirit per 25 maximum life. That is why having life rolls on every item is crucial if you want to achieve this feat.

As for minions, you can take advantage of Skeletal Snipers and Skeletal Reavers. The former can obliterate monsters with ease when the support gems, Scattershot, Feeding Frenzy, Lightning Infusion, and Martial Tempo are used. The latter, on the other hand, can be enraged to deal significant amounts of physical damage.

The beauty of the Minion Army Infernalist is that she can utilize other minion skills as well. The Skeletal Storm Mage can shock enemies, making them take 20% to 35% increased damage. The Skeletal Cleric can revive fallen allies, allowing them to get into battle straight away.

While not a minion that you can command at will, you can also use Raging Spirits to summon flaming skulls that seek enemies out akin to a homing missile in real life. You can summon Raging Spirits by using Flame Wall.

The Minion Army Infernalist can function even with modest gear. However, it has so many potential upgrades that the only limiting factor, really, is your budget. In the endgame, you can incorporate more expensive uniques like a well-rolled Ventor’s Gamble for more Spirit, a corrupted Oaksworn for a block chance higher than 60%, and Against the Darkness that specifically has “+ to Spirit” and “+% to Maximum Fire Resistance.”

Deadeye

If you want an ascendancy class that specializes in using the bow and arrow, there’s nothing quite like the Deadeye in Path of Exile 2. She can fire an additional arrow when using bow skills thanks to Endless Munitions, and she deals more damage if enemies are within close proximity due to Point Blank.

For survivability, the Deadeye can take advantage of Tailwind brought by the Gathering Winds ascendancy node. Tailwind can be enhanced by taking Wind Ward, which provides the Deadeye with some toughness by taking 30% less damage from hits at full Tailwind stacks.

With that out of the way, the Lightning Arrow Deadeye is still a top-tier map blaster and boss slayer in Path of Exile 2. She still excels at eliminating her foes with a barrage of lighting arrows, lightning rods, and dangerous balls of lightning.

Lightning Arrow is a skill that is used primarily for mapping. For bossing, it is only meant to take full advantage of Lightning Rod’s ability to chain multiple lightning bolts, dealing an insane amount of damage as a result!

Since you can effectively inflict Shock with this build, you can utilize a Cast on Shock setup with Ball Lightning slotted in. Whenever you shock enemies with your other skills, you gain enough Energy that triggers Ball Lightning automatically.

Although the Lightning Arrow Deadeye is a lethal map farmer that can work with only rare items, there are some unique items that you can add in depending on your budget. The Thief’s Torment is an incredible addition to the build because it is currently the only source of mana leech on an item in PoE 2 Early Access.

With the Thief’s Torment equipped, the Ball Lightning projectiles triggered by Cast on Shock will not suck your mana dry due to leech! The only downside to this is that you cannot put another ring in the other slot, but this trade-off is fine if only to address the build’s mana-intensive nature. The Thief’s Torment is being sold for 70 PoE 2 Exalted Orbs at the time of writing, though considering how useful it is, it will probably be put up for sale at a steeper price!

Next on the list of upgrades is the Hand of Wisdom and Action. These gloves grant increased attack speed for every 25 Dexterity that you have. More importantly, you get added lightning damage per 10 Intelligence, making HoWA awesome!

If you want an effective ranged attacker with a huge upside in the endgame, you can never go wrong with the Lightning Arrow Deadeye!

S Tier

The best classes and builds in Path of Exile 2 are in this group. They outperform the other classes in the game in terms of performance, upgradability, and sheer killing prowess. Of course, expect these builds to be quite expensive, particularly due to their popularity in the current state of the game.

Gemling Legionnaire

One of the ascendancy classes available to the Mercenary, the Gemling Legionnaire is popular for his ability to gain more from attributes, such as more life from Strength, more accuracy from Dexterity, and more mana from Intelligence. This is possible thanks to the Enhanced Effectiveness ascendancy node.

Anyway, there are two awesome builds that you can try out if you plan on making a Gemling Legionnaire. The first is a Flicker Strike build, which can zoom in and around monsters until they are dead. Flicker Strike can be nauseating because it teleports you every time you hit an enemy. If you use this on a large group of monsters, just imagine teleporting at a rapid rate!

The second build for the Gemling Legionnaire is more grounded, leveraging the insane attack speed and damage of Tempest Flurry to great effect. Tempest Flurry allows you to hit enemies several times in quick succession, with the final hit doing massive damage. Besides that, the combination of Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder boosts your map-clearing speed exponentially.

Now, the items for these builds are identical. The aforementioned abilities require you to utilize a quarterstaff, so that is what you’ll do. However, you are not using just any quarterstaff; you will utilize the Pillar of the Caged God. Due to the Gemling Legionnaire’s Enhanced Effectiveness node, you will gain more damage, attack speed, and area of effect from this unique weapon alone!

Hand of Wisdom and Action takes that a step further by granting even more attack speed and lightning damage! This potent mix can kill any monster in the game, so much so that even pinnacle bosses are made trivial because of it!

Since both builds are attribute-stackers, they are not readily accessible to the vast majority of Path of Exile 2 players. A couple of rare rings with triple attributes, for example, cost multiple Divine Orbs each. To add to that, you will use Ingenuity with at least 80% increased bonuses from equipped rings, which cost roughly 40 Divine Orbs at the time of writing.

Despite the heavy investment, every Divine Orb you spend making the best Gemling Legionnaire builds is very well worth it!

Invoker

In Path of Exile 2, any build that deals elemental damage can be scaled infinitely with the right gear, as well as the right passive nodes. The Invoker is in the S Tier because he has ascendancy nodes that improve cold and lightning damage considerably.

Having said that, the Ice Strike Invoker is one of the most popular builds in Path of Exile 2 right now. Whether you are still a budding Monk or a veteran Invoker in the late game, the Ice Strike Invoker does not disappoint in terms of what it can do!

Ice Strike alone freezes enemies without a problem. The fast-attacking nature of the quarterstaff coupled with attack speed nodes on the passive tree ensure that this happens more often than not.

The Invoker ascendancy class can activate a powerful buff called Unbound Avatar. This grants 40% more elemental damage for roughly 10 seconds at max level. This lets you deal considerable amounts of damage even if you don’t have those god-tier items yet.

The good news about the Ice Strike Invoker is that you don’t have to spend a ton of Divine Orbs to make it work. If you have a decent physical damage quarterstaff and armor that has a high amount of evasion and energy shield, you should be good to go!

Stormweaver

Before we talk about the last entry on our best classes tier list in PoE 2 Early Access, the Invoker and Gemling Legionnaire are already quite incredible and deserve to be in the S Tier without a doubt. However, we’d argue that the Stormweaver, specifically a build that uses Spark as the primary skill, is better in so many aspects, making it the overall best class in the game.

Remember what we said earlier about the various factors that a class should have in order to be ranked higher than the others? The Spark Stormweaver essentially ticks all the right boxes!

For starters, this build is incredibly easy to use. All you need to do is cast Spark to unleash multiple lightning projectiles on the screen and Flame Wall to add some fire damage. If you encounter rare enemies, use Mana Tempest for a significant boost in damage, though you have to be wary of your mana while you’re in its area of effect.

Next, this build is an effective map farmer capable of zapping enemies with high amounts of lightning damage. Supplement Spark with Orb of Storms or even a Cast on Shock setup and you have a build that has the power to eliminate even the toughest pinnacle bosses in the game!

Because of its ease of use and damage scaling, the Spark Stormweaver is a very popular build in Path of Exile 2. This is evident in the gear that is being put up for sale on PoE 2 Trade, with some ranging from a Divine Orb to multiple Mirrors of Kalandra!

For instance, Spark and other spells in the game scale their damage really well the higher their gem levels are. That is why a wand that has cast speed, spell damage, critical strike chance for spells, and “+ to level of all Lightning Spell Skills” cost hundreds of Divine Orbs.

Lastly, the Spark Stormweaver gets even better the more investment you’re willing to put in. Aside from a good endgame wand, you can equip pieces of armor that have high amounts of energy shield to leverage the effect of Mind Over Matter and Eldritch Battery for survivability.

Whether you are looking for a good build you can start a new league with or one that you can invest well into the endgame, the Spark Stormweaver is one of the best builds in Path of Exile 2 Early Access without a doubt!

Final Thoughts

Each class in Path of Exile 2 has something unique to offer. However, some are definitely better than others, which is why we’ve created a tier list to help you decide what your next character is going to be.

Keep in mind that the builds highlighted in this article are viable as of Patch 0.1.1. It is possible that GGG will release another major update that could change the rankings dramatically. Until that time comes, we are confident with every build that we have put in each of the sections, so you can never go wrong with any of them.

Now, if you want to try out the best builds for the Gemling Legionnaire but don’t have the PoE 2 currency to do so, don’t worry! Head to our PoE 2 Store and we will help you with all of your item and currency needs!

With all of the classes in PoE 2 ranked accordingly, do you agree with our list? If so, which build are you going to try in the game soon? Let us know in the comments!
