What is the Druid Summoning Grand Charm?

This grand charm provides +1 to Druid Summoning Skills, affecting the entire Summoning skill tree: Raven, Poison Creeper, Oak Sage, Summon Spirit Wolf, Carrion Vine, Heart of Wolverine, Summon Dire Wolf, Solar Creeper, Spirit of Barbs, and Summon Grizzly. Required level is 42-50 depending on prefix roll.

How to Get Summoning Skillers

Drop Sources:

  • Hell Baal, Diablo, and Nihlathak (best for rerolling potential)

  • Terror Zones in areas level 85+

  • Grand charm gambling from vendors (extremely expensive and inefficient)

  • Travincal Council member runs in Hell

Reroll Strategy: Grand charms from Baal, Diablo, or Nihlathak can be rerolled in Horadric Cube using 3 Perfect Gems + Grand Charm. This recipe maintains the high item level needed for skill modifiers while rerolling affixes.

Statistical Reality: Each grand charm has roughly 1 in 60 chance to roll Druid skills when rerolled. Among Druid skillers, 1 in 3 will be Summoning (vs Elemental or Shape Shifting). Expect 180 rerolls on average to get one Summoning skiller.

Best Summoner Druid Builds

Zoo Keeper (Full Summoner): Uses 9-10 Summoning skillers for maximum pet damage and life. Focuses on Grizzly, Dire Wolves, and Spirit Wolves as main damage dealers. Oak Sage for massive life boost to entire army.

Fury/Summoner Hybrid: Combines Shape Shifting with summoning support. Uses 5-6 Summoning skillers and 4-5 Shape Shifting skillers. Grizzly tanks while Druid deals melee damage in Werewolf form.

Wind/Summoner Hybrid: Elemental primary damage with summons for utility. Uses 3-4 Summoning skillers for Oak Sage life boost and Grizzly tanking. Remaining skillers focus on Elemental tree.

Skill Scaling Per Grand Charm

Grizzly Bear: Each +1 skill adds approximately +15% life and +12% damage to your Grizzly. With 10 skillers, your Grizzly gains +150% life and +120% damage compared to base level investment.

Oak Sage: Each +1 skill adds roughly +20% to the life bonus Oak Sage provides. At skill level 30 (20 hard points + 10 from skillers), Oak Sage grants 180% increased life to your entire army.

Spirit Wolves and Dire Wolves: Each +1 skill increases wolf pack damage by 8-10% and life by 10-12%. Higher skill levels also increase the number of wolves you can summon simultaneously.

Optimal Secondary Modifiers

Life (+31-45): "Grand Charm of Vita" with Summoning skills trades for Vex-Ohm rune range. Summoner Druids need high life since they stand near their pets in melee range.

Faster Hit Recovery (+12%): Helps reach the 86% FHR breakpoint (5-frame recovery). Summoners get hit frequently while directing pets, making FHR valuable.

Life Regeneration (+5-7 per second): Underrated mod for summoners. Constant life regen lets you facetank damage while your pets work. Less reliance on potions.

Why Purchase Summoning Skillers

Reroll Hell: Getting 10 Summoning skillers through rerolling requires roughly 1,800 grand charm rerolls. This consumes 5,400 Perfect Gems (180 of each gem type). Collecting this many gems takes 40-60 hours of dedicated farming.

Skill Threshold: Summoner Druids need high skill levels to be viable. Without 9-10 skillers, your Grizzly dies instantly in Hell difficulty and wolves deal trivial damage. It's not a gradual improvement - it's build-enabling.

Ladder Competition: Early ladder summoner Druids dominate if they have skillers. Without them, the build struggles even in early Hell act 1. Purchasing skillers puts you ahead of 95% of ladder competition immediately.

Time vs Money: Farming the runes to trade for 10 skillers takes 80-120 hours. Purchasing them saves that entire time investment, letting you actually play the build you want.

FAQ:

Can I use Summoning skillers on Elemental or Shape Shifting Druids?

Yes, they can be used on any Druid, but they only benefit skills in the Summoning tree. Elemental Druids gain no benefit from them. Hybrid builds may use a mix of different skiller types depending on skill distribution.

How many Summoning skillers should a pure summoner use?

Nine to ten Summoning Grand Charms is optimal. Using more than ten leaves insufficient inventory space for Annihilus, Hellfire Torch, and Small Charms with resistances or life.

Do Summoning skillers affect Spirit of Barbs or Oak Sage?

Yes. All skills within the Summoning tree are affected. Oak Sage gains increased life percentage per skill level, while Spirit of Barbs reflects more damage as its level increases.

What's more important—Summoning skillers or +all skills gear?

Both are important and stack together. It’s best to prioritize +all skills gear first, such as Harlequin Crest, Mara’s Kaleidoscope, or Arachnid Mesh, and then fill your remaining inventory space with Summoning skillers.

Can grand charms roll +2 to Summoning skills?

No. Grand Charms can only roll +1 to a specific skill tree. Only certain rare items like weapons and amulets can roll +2–3 to specific skill trees.

Should I get plain Summoning skillers or ones with +life?

Plain skillers are ideal for budget builds. As you gain wealth, upgrade to skillers with +life. With ten +45 life skillers, you gain an additional 450 total life.

Do these work with Raven summons?

Yes. Ravens are part of the Summoning tree and benefit from Summoning skillers. Each +1 skill increases Raven duration by one second and slightly improves their blind effect.

What's the trading value of Summoning skillers versus other Druid skillers?

Summoning and Elemental skillers usually trade at similar values, with plain versions around Pul–Um and +life versions ranging from Ist to Vex. Shape Shifting skillers are generally cheaper, often trading between Lem and Pul.
