Did you know that there are multiple pets you can get in Roblox Grow a Garden? That's right! Right now, there are almost 100 pets in the game, though only a bunch of them are really worth having.

Since you can only have a maximum of eight active pets at a time, you want to make sure that you're summoning only the best. So in this article, we are going to talk about the 25 best pets in Grow a Garden that you certainly must have in your garden!

If you want to get a hold of any of the pets that will be mentioned in this Roblox Guide, then don't hesitate to go to our Grow a Garden Store, where you will find some ultra-rare pets, such as the Corrupted Kitsune, Triceratops, and so much more!

The Best Pets in Grow a Garden

In Roblox GAG, you can have as many as 60 pets in your inventory at any time. However, you can summon only eight on the field, and trying to go over this limit will result in an error.

That is why it's crucial that you only summon pets that provide the most bang for the buck. With about 96 pets in total at the time of writing, it certainly is a challenging endeavor to weed the bad ones out on your own.

Luckily, our list should provide you with all the information about the best pets in Grow a Garden. We'll not only include the ones that were implemented in the last major updates, but also in the current Zen Event.

Here are the top pets that you should add to your garden in Roblox GAG right away:

1. Kitsune

The first on this list is a recent fan-favorite called the Kitsune. This nine-tailed Prismatic pet in Grow a Garden has the ability to go to another player's garden and apply random mutations to it every 22 minutes. After that, it gives a duplicate of the fruit to you for you to plant or sell!

Occasionally, the Kitsune will apply the "Foxfire" crop mutation, which will give a x90 multiplier on that fruit, making it incredibly more expensive than its base value!

The Kitsune is so valuable, both in terms of what it can bring and its rarity. At a 0.08% chance of obtaining it from the Zen Egg, you're probably not going to get it during the Zen Event, unless you're able to spend a lot of money.

But why waste your precious moolah and leave it to chance when you can buy Kitsune from our Grow a Garden Store?

2. Corrupted Kitsune

Another awesome pet that you can get from the Zen Event, the Corrupted Kitsune is a Prismatic pet that you really need to summon right now! Why? This pet has a 20% chance to apply the Corrupt Chakra mutation to up to nine different fruits, granting them a 15x multiplier.

But wait, there's more! The Corrupted Kitsune can also put the Corrupt Foxfire Chakra on the same number of fruits, which adds a x90 multiplier to them.

The Corrupted Kitsune is even more time-consuming to get than its regular counterpart because you have to acquire tons of Kitsune Chests. This loot box can only be awarded to you by accomplishing some Zen Quests.

Don't worry, you can obtain the Corrupted Kitsune easily by heading to our online shop!

3. Dragonfly

Every plant in Roblox Grow a Garden can be affected by crop mutations. These not only alter their appearance in some way, but also add a multiplier that raises their sell value when sold to the NPC.

That said, the "Golden" crop mutation slaps on a 20x multiplier on any plant in GAG. However, the reason why it's highly sought-after is that this particular mutation makes a plant look like gold (hence, the name).

So, if you like your crops to shine (literally), then you should get your hands on the Dragonfly. The Dragonfly is able to turn any random crop into gold every five minutes or so.

If you want to acquire the Dragonfly through manual grinding, you can get this shiny golden pet from the Bug Egg and Exotic Bug Egg, with a 1% drop rate. You can buy the latter from the Pet Egg Shop in-game, while the latter requires Robux to purchase (about 199 Robux a piece).

4. Disco Bee

Although the "Golden" crop mutation adds a sheen to any plant in Grow a Garden, this next pet can induce a more lucrative mutation. Of course, we are talking about the Disco Bee!

The Disco Bee is a Divine-tier pet that can apply the "Disco" crop mutation to a nearby fruit. The fruit with this particular crop mutation cycles through several neon colors (just like the Disco Bee), including green, yellow, blue, red, and pink.

But more importantly, the Disco crop mutation imposes a 125x multiplier on your plants, making them even more valuable than the Golden crop mutation applied by the Dragonfly.

If you want to be groovy just like the Disco Bee, you need to craft the Anti Bee Egg using 25 jars of Honey and a single (regular) Bee Egg. Head to Bizzy Bear to craft the said egg.

You should obtain the Disco Bee and summon several of them at a time to ensure that your crops gain the highly sought-after Disco mutation!

5. Triceratops

If there is one pet that you should include in your roster, then reserve a slot for the Triceratops. This particular pet is consistently being used for its ability to fast-track the growth of any plant in Roblox Grow a Garden. It does so by "ramming" the crop, making it huge, and thus increasing its sale value.

You need at least four Triceratops in order to make its effect more efficient. If you are wondering how you can get one, there is no way to acquire this in the game through the Pet Shop. Instead, you can go over our Grow a Garden Store and buy Triceratops from there.

6. Moon Cat

The Moon Cat is another popular pet used in most "duplication methods" in Grow a Garden. Why is that, you ask? Well, it has something to do with the Moon Cat's ability to make new fruits grow slightly larger.

On top of that, the Moon Cat can make other "Moon Crops" like the Moon Melon and Moon Mango to remain after they are harvested, essentially "duping" them in the process.

In most cases, the Moon Cat is paired with the Triceratops because both of them can increase the size of the fruits near them. The incredible power of this pet is the reason why many people get the Moon Cat in Grow a Garden.

7. Raccoon

When you log into Roblox GAG, you will not only see your own plot of land, but also the gardens of other people. This next best pet in Grow a Garden takes advantage of that by "stealing" a copy of their plants and giving them to you every so often.

Yes, that's right! The Raccoon has that ability, and it does so every 15 minutes. Imagine if you have eight Raccoons summoned at a time, you'll be getting 32 seeds in an hour! Now, imagine if your neighbors have very rare seeds like the Candy Blossom, Elder Strawberry, and Bone Blossom. You can have those as well, thanks to the Raccoon!

Now, the only way to get this pet is to buy the Raccoon from our Grow a Garden store, as it is currently not available from the Pet Egg store in the game.

8. Mimic Octopus

One look at the name of this next pet, and you will have an inkling of what it can do. The Mimic Octopus has the special ability called "Mimicry," which copies an ability of another pet every 20 minutes.

The Mimic Octopus is the one you summon if you only have one rare pet in your garden, such as the Corrupted Kitsune, Disco Bee, and Triceratops, among others.

For those who want to gain pets the normal way, you'll be happy to know that the Mimic Octopus can be hatched from the Paradise Egg, which is occasionally sold by the Pet Egg Store.

9. Butterfly

The Butterfly is one of the best pets in Roblox Grow a Garden simply because it applies another useful mutation called the "Rainbow." This is similar to the "Disco" mutation in that it makes the affected crop more colorful than its base version, albeit the multiplier is only at 50x (instead of 125x).

This Mythical pet flies to a nearby fruit that has at least five mutations on it and removes them. In exchange, those mutations are replaced by the Rainbow mutation. If you ask us, it's actually a fair trade because the Rainbow mutation is quite rare in Grow a Garden.

If you want to get the Butterfly, you can also obtain it from the Anti Bee Egg (would you look at that, it's the same as the Disco Bee).

10. Spinosaurus

If you like to have dinosaur pets in Roblox Grow a Garden, you can! In fact, this Grow a Garden pets guide will feature several of them, starting with the Spinosaurus.

The Spinosaurus is a Divine-tier pet that can "devour" a random mutation of up to three fruits in your garden. After that, it will roar so loudly, but not to destroy your plot of land. No! The roar actually spreads those devoured mutations to almost all of the fruits in your garden!

The roar synergizes with the Favorite Tool, specifically the plants that you have "favorited" using the said gear, will have priority over the mutations.

You can learn more about this pet by reading our Grow a Garden Spinosaurus guide.

11. T-Rex

The next prehistoric pet that we're going to talk about in this guide is the popular T-Rex. This is another Divine-tier pet that does almost exactly the same thing as the Spinosaurus, albeit it only affects two other fruits in your garden (instead of a bunch of plants at a time), and only gets one random mutation from a single plant.

Both the T-Rex and Spinosaurus can be acquired from the Dinosaur Egg, though this thing is not currently available in the game. However, you can buy the special T-Rex+Spinosaurus bundle from our site, which we will send to you as a gift.

12. Fennec Fox

Another pet that goes to a random player's garden, the Fennec Fox is cunning yet useful. The reason why it goes to another plot of land is so that it can copy a mutation on random fruit. That particular mutation will then be applied to a random plant in your garden, enabling you to have crops that have numerous mutations.

Some people have at least three Fennec Foxes summoned at once to ensure that more valuable crop mutations like Shocked, Celestial, and Dawnbound are copied from nearby gardens.

You can obtain the Fennec Fox from an Oasis Egg, which is currently not available in the game. As always, you can purchase rare pets like the Fennec Fox in our store.

13. Brontosaurus

Continuing with the prehistoric pets, the Brontosaurus. This Mythical pet is primarily used to increase the size of a pet that is hatched from an egg by up to 30%. This is best paired with the next prehistoric pet we're going to talk about, which is…

14. Dilophosaurus

The Dilophosaurus is another pet that can improve the growth of your other pets in Grow a Garden. It has the "Frilled Reptile" ability that causes it to spit venom at about three to five of your pets at random. The effect of this venom can either advance the cooldown of the affected pet (by up to 40.82) or grant XP (by 370.42).

As you can see, the Dilophosaurus and Brontosaurus work pretty well with each other. However, you still need to summon other pets to take advantage of their unique abilities.

15. Tanuki

This Grow a Garden guide was written during the Zen Event, meaning that acquiring the Zen Egg is still possible through normal means. Why would you want the Zen Egg, you ask? Well, it has a 20.82% chance of spawning the cute Tanuki pet.

The Tanuki has an awesome passive ability called "Mischief." What it does is it does several random actions in your garden, including:

  • Grant the "Moonlit" mutation to one of your plants
  • Grant the "Choc" mutation to one of your plants
  • Grant the "Chilled" mutation to one of your plants
  • Provides a set amount of experience points
  • Advances a random pet's cooldown by one minute (60 seconds)
  • Gives you anywhere between 300 and 1,000 Sheckles

Everything from that list of actions can benefit you, your garden, and your pets. Of course, you'd have to summon at least several Tanukis to maximize this effect.

16. Queen Bee

There are only a handful of pets that have two abilities, and the Queen Bee is one of them. The Queen Bee, which can be obtained from the Bee Egg, can instantly refresh the cooldown of one of your pets, prioritizing those that have the highest CD.

However, the main reason why you'd want a Queen Bee in your garden is because of its ability to pollinate a random crop every 20 minutes. The "Pollinated" mutation only applies a x3 multiplier on your crops, but the main reason to have it is so that it turns your plants into more visually appealing ones.

So, if you're the type of person who wants to have a garden with aesthetic crops, then having the Queen Bee is a no-brainer!

17. Tanchozuru

The main mechanic of the Grow a Garden Zen Event is to turn in "Tranquil" crops to the Zen Channeller and, in doing so, you will level up the Zen Tree to unlock some awesome stuff. If you want the Zen Tree to grow significantly faster, then you will need the help of several Tanchozuru pets.

Tanchozuru is a Legendary pet that applies the "Tranquil" mutation on your crops through its "Balance and Harmony" passive ability. Nobody knows the exact time when this ability occurs, though some have speculated that it activates roughly 10 minutes or so.

Is it still obtainable in the game? Absolutely! Just hatch a bunch of Zen Eggs to get the Tanchozuru (which has a 4.6% chance of popping out).

18. Kodama

A recent addition to the game via the Corrupted Zen Event, the Kodama is a Legendary pet that has a humanoid form, unlike most other cute and cuddly pets in Roblox Grow a Garden.

Anyway, the Kodama is highly desired by players for its power to apply the "Tranquil" mutation on Zen Crops you have harvested. Examples of Zen Crops include the Spiked Mango, Hinomai, Zen Rocks, and Tranquil Bloom.

If the Zen Tree is already at max level, Tranquil crops have a 20x multiplier, so they are more valuable than plants that don't have any mutations whatsoever.

19. Corrupted Kodama

The theme of the ongoing event is corruption, and that is evident in this next Grow a Garden pet—the Corrupted Kodama.

The Corrupted Kodama does exactly the same thing as the non-corrupted version, albeit with a slightly higher chance of applying Tranquil on harvest crops (4.22% vs. ~5%).

If you are wondering how you can obtain the Corrupted Kodama, it is actually a reward for completing Corrupt Zen Quests. Yes, that's right! You have to get busy if you want to add this pet to your inventory!

20. Red Fox

The Red Fox is another one of those pets in Grow a Garden that can duplicate a random crop in another player's garden. If it's successful in doing so, it will try to get another seed, which it will give to you, of course!

Take note that the Red Fox can only duplicate crops that are being sold by Sam's Seed Shop. That's fine because every major update in Roblox Grow a Garden will always feature a rare seed that the Red Fox can dupe!

21. Chicken Zombie

The Chicken Zombie is another best pet in Grow a Garden that can do more than one thing! What can this cute (yet zombified chick) do, you ask?

Well, the Chicken Zombie can apply the "Zombified" mutation on one of your crops, first and foremost. This particular crop mutation raises the price of the affected plant by 25x, giving you more Sheckles in return.

The other ability of the Chicken Zombie is that it is capable of increasing the hatch speed of any egg in your inventory by 10%! You might think that it's a measly amount, but that's actually more than enough to speed up the hatching process!

If you have just played the game recently, you will notice that you cannot obtain the Chicken Zombie anymore. Well, that's because it was added last May and was subsequently removed a couple of weeks after.

Don't worry, the Chicken Zombie is still available in our RPGStash Grow a Garden Store, ready and waiting for you to pick it up at any time!

22. Praying Mantis

If you are okay with forcing any random mutation on your crops, then the Praying Mantis is best suited for the job. This pet enters a "Praying" state every 80 seconds, which increases the chance of your plants gaining a random mutation.

It is important to note that this effect only works on growing plants, so those that already bear fruit will not be affected by the Praying Mantis. Still, it's nice to have at least three of these pets wandering around your garden to increase the sale value of your crops.

23. Mole

If we are to describe this next best pet in Grow a Garden in one word, it would be "scavenger." True enough, the Mole digs up random treasure from under the ground. This treasure can be any of the following items:

  • Watering Can
  • Trowel/s
  • Recall Wrench
  • Basic Sprinkler
  • Advanced Sprinkler
  • Godly Sprinkler
  • Master Sprinkler
  • Lightning Rod
  • 900 to 10,800 Sheckles

Because the Mole can occasionally dig up some valuable Sprinklers, you can do the Sprinkler Glitch to turn your small plants into enormous ones. You can learn more about the Sprinkler Method in our dedicated guide.

24. Shiba Inu

A pet that's relatively easy to acquire yet provides a ton of value, the Shiba Inu can also dig underground just like the Mole. However, what's different about the Shiba Inu is that, instead of gears like the Master Sprinkler and Trowel, the Shiba Inu can obtain random seeds.

What's cool about the Shiba Inu's ability (which is called "Man's Best Tomodachi," by the way) is that it can acquire Prismatic seeds from time to time. So, if you're having trouble getting the rarer seeds, perhaps your chances of getting some are increased exponentially with the help of the Shiba Inu!

25. Blood Owl

The last pet in our 25 best pets in Grow a Garden guide is one that will tie everything together. Why? The Blood Owl has a special ability that grants bonus XP to any active pet that you have in your garden!

Sure, it only gives 0.50 XP per second, but have four of these active at the same time, and your other pets will reach maturity in no time! That makes the Blood Owl a must-have pet in Grow a Garden, especially if you want to level up the likes of the Kitsune, Disco Bee, and Chicken Zombie as quickly as possible!

Which Best Pet to Get in Roblox Grow a Garden?

To answer the question of which pet you need to get among the 25 that have been listed on this guide, well, it's really tough, to be honest. All of them have their practical uses, and the choice of pet boils down to what you want.

Both Kitsune variants can apply crop mutations to your plants in the garden, making them more lucrative. The Moon Cat and Triceratops work really well together, especially if you want to fast-track the growth of your crops.

If you want to level up your other pets, the group that consists of the Brontosaurus, Dilophosaurus, and Blood Owl works really well.

Are you looking for valuable treasure? The Shiba Inu, Mole, and Raccoon can aid you in that regard.

If improving the aesthetics of your crops is what you are after, then you have the Disco Bee, Dragonfly, and Butterfly for that.

Honestly, you can never go wrong with any of the pets mentioned in this guide. They are all here for a reason—and that reason is so that you'll have animals in your garden that provide the most value among the others!
