Last Epoch Season 4 Release Date
Season 4 of Last Epoch, titled Shattered Omens, officially launches on March 26. That's not far off, so if you've been sitting on builds or waiting for a fresh economy reset, this is your signal to start planning.

This update isn't just a routine seasonal reset either. It's packed with meaningful system changes, new gear, animation upgrades, and quality of life improvements that actually affect how you play moment to moment. So yeah, this is one of those seasons where jumping in early feels worth it.
New Set Items
Let's start with something players have been asking for: new Set items. It's been a while since we've seen these get attention, and Season 4 brings six of them. More importantly, they actually look interesting this time.
Here's the breakdown.
Doppelganger's Set
If you're playing Rogue and love Shadows, this one is basically made for you. It expands how Shadows are generated and even lets you recreate them after they're consumed. That alone opens up some creative loops for Shadow-heavy builds.
Apiarist's Set
Yes, it's the bee set. And it's as ridiculous and fun as it sounds. You get increased Bees Per Second and access to a Queen Bee minion. If you've ever wanted to run a swarm-style build, this is probably the closest you'll get.
Abandoned Set
This one targets Weaver's Will weapons. It enhances their Legendary Affixes and rewards stacking attributes. Not flashy, but potentially very strong for scaling builds.
Kuzon's Set
This converts Dancing Strikes and Shadow Cascade into Fire damage. It also synergizes with Burning Daggers, rewarding aggressive, fast-paced Rogue gameplay.
Jormun's Set
Designed for players who like juggling multiple weapons. You get bonuses for using two different weapon types, plus added Critical Strike support and Leech. Very much a “stay in the fight” set.
Keplahan's Set
This one is for Volcanic Orb enjoyers. It creates Fire and Ice orbs that orbit you when you use melee or traversal skills. It basically turns your character into a walking damage aura.
Overall, these sets feel more experimental compared to older ones. They're less about raw stats and more about enabling specific playstyles, which is a good direction.
New Unique Items
Season 4 also adds several new Unique items, and some of these are clearly designed to support new or underused skills.
Tabi of Dusk and Dawn
These boots modify Shadow Rend. You lose the movement aspect, but in exchange you create both melee and bow Shadows. That's a trade-off that can be very powerful depending on your setup.
Ash Wake
These boots convert Aura of Decay into Fire damage and make Volatile Zombies explode within its radius. There's also a chance for zombies to resurrect, which adds a nice loop for minion builds.
Rahyeh's Embrace
A Primalist body armor that converts Spriggan and Storm Crow minions to Fire. It also boosts Attunement and Ignite chance, making it a solid option for fire-based minion builds.
Natural Wrath
This is a Primalist Idol that converts Upheaval and Earthquake into Lightning damage. It also enables some pretty wild interactions with Storm stacks, letting you trigger multiple instant hits.
Artifice of Devastation
A Rogue item that enhances Bladestorm, causing it to throw explosive traps at enemies. It adds both area coverage and burst potential.
What stands out here is how these items push skill identity. They're not just stat sticks. They actively change how your abilities behave, which is exactly what Uniques should do.
Combat Feel Improvements
This is one of those changes you might not think about until you feel it.
Enemies now visibly react to your attacks. There's a new system that detects an enemy's skeleton and applies force to the parts you hit. So instead of enemies just standing there soaking damage, they actually respond to your strikes.
It sounds small, but it makes combat feel more grounded and impactful. Hits feel like they matter.
On top of that, there are new melee hit sound effects for 18 skills. Again, subtle, but it all adds up to better feedback during fights.
Animation Updates
Primalist Overhaul
The Primalist gets a full animation overhaul. This includes new animation tech that allows independent movement of the torso and legs, which makes everything look smoother and more natural. If you've ever felt like the Primalist looked a bit stiff, this should fix that.
Rogue Improvements
The Rogue gets targeted updates, especially for:
- Bow animations
- Throwing animations
- Idle states
- Run cycles
- Evade motions
These aren't full reworks, but they focus on the areas you actually notice during gameplay.

Crafting Tutorial
A new crafting tutorial has been added in the Osprix War Camp area. If you're new or just never fully understood crafting, this is actually helpful. It walks you through upgrading an item, adding affixes, and using glyphs.
The best part is you only need to do it once per stash. So it won't get annoying across multiple characters.
Loot and Loot Filter Updates
This is a big one, especially for endgame players.
New Filtering Options
You can now filter items based on:
- Forging Potential
- Legendary Potential
- Weaver's Will
- Weaver's Touch
That's huge for targeting specific gear.
You can also filter:
- Shards
- Runes
- Glyphs
- Keys
This makes organizing drops much easier.
Expanded Filter Rules
The rule limit has increased from 75 to 200, which gives you way more flexibility when customizing filters.
Loot Beam Improvements
Loot beams have been updated visually to be easier to see and identify. You also get more control over:
- Size
- Color
- Map icons
- Sounds
If you're someone who tweaks filters a lot, this is a major upgrade.
New Cinematic and Audio
There's a new cinematic in Chapter 7 featuring the fight between Heorot and Rahyeh. It includes new voice acting and is more in line with the game's other cinematics.
On the audio side, loot now has rarity-based sound effects. The goal here is to make drops feel rewarding without sounding like combat noise. Also, these sounds can be used in your loot filter, which is a nice touch.
Controller Improvements
Controller players get full rumble support, including:
- Weapon impacts
- Environmental effects
- Mana warnings
- Critical hit feedback
There are different modes, so you can choose how much feedback you want. There's also support for advanced features like DualSense trigger haptics.
Monolith Updates
This is one of the biggest changes in Season 4.
Immediate Access to Timelines
All standard Monolith Timelines are unlocked from the start, except for the level 90 ones.
That means less grinding just to access content.
Knowledge of Orobyss System
To unlock level 90+ Timelines, you need to collect 5 Knowledge points.
You get these from:
- The final two campaign chapters
- The first seven Monolith Timelines
Higher-level Timelines reward more Knowledge, so you can progress faster if you take on harder content.
Streamlined Progression
Optional Quest Echoes are no longer required to reach Timeline bosses. This makes the path to bosses more direct.
UI Improvements
Monolith UI
The Monolith interface has been cleaned up:
- Corruption and Quest info moved to the bottom
- Filters condensed into a dropdown
- Better tooltips with clearer visuals
It's just easier to read and navigate now.
Nemesis UI
The Nemesis panel has been redesigned:
- Thinner layout for better device compatibility
- Improved visuals and clarity
- More intuitive button placement
The Empower button is now front and center, reducing misclicks.
