Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is the game’s second expansion, so you can expect that Blizzard is going to release a bunch of awesome new unique items to go along with it to help you create more exciting builds. True enough, there are considerably more D4 items released in Patch 3.0.1 than in the previous seasons.

That is why, in this article, I will talk about the best new unique items introduced in the Lord of Hatred expansion. Which ones would be the right fit for your next build? Read further to find out!

What Makes a Unique Item “Top Tier” in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred?

There are two things that a unique item in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred must satisfy in order to be considered “top tier.” The first is that it has to be build-defining in a way. For instance, it should turn an ordinary, low-damaging skill into a powerful ability that you’d actually want to use to defeat Mephisto and his forces.

The second factor that a unique item must have to be considered top tier is that it should come with a bunch of affixes that fit perfectly with your current build. In case you don’t know, there is a change in itemization in Patch 3.0.1, where unique items can now be tempered, allowing you to add one more affix to truly make them special.

Best New Unique Items in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred (Ranked)

With the release of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, there are now eight new playable classes in the game. That is why I am going to present the best unique items for each class in the next sections of this article.

Let’s start with the crowd favorite Barbarian, shall we?

Barbarian Uniques

Emblem of Staalbreak

The first one on the list is the Emblem of Staalbreak. This is a new unique amulet for the Barbarian Class in D4 that increases the damage bonus provided by the Berserking status.

What’s great about the Emblem of Staalbreak is that if your HP drops below 80% of its maximum, you will gain the Berserking status for free. This means that you don’t have to actively spec into skills and upgrades that grant the said buff (such as Frenzy’s “Barrage” upgrade) with this amulet equipped.

On top of that, you can now add Legendary Aspects to amulets in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, so you could technically make the Emblem of Staalbreak better for your next Barbarian build!

The Relentless Heart

Hammer of the Ancients is one of the most powerful skills in the Barbarian’s kit. However, it does struggle a bit against single targets, especially without a prior setup. Thankfully, that all changes with the introduction of The Relentless Heart.

The Relentless Heart is a unique body armor that exponentially boosts the damage of Hammer of the Ancients when used consecutively on the same target. This is great against bosses, like the formidable Lord of Hatred himself, Mephisto.

Druid Uniques

Accord of the Wilds

If you like playing the Companion Druid build in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, then I highly recommend that you invest in Accord of the Wilds. This unique amulet not only increases the damage done by your companion skills, but it also provides you with the passive benefits of your Ravens, Wolves, and Poison Creeper at all times.

Ifeh’s Dire Totem

This new unique totem changes the Grizzly Rage ultimate skill at a fundamental level, where instead of shapeshifting into a Werebear with increased armor, you change into a Dire Werewolf that has increased critical strike and Poisoning damage.

Ifeh’s Dire Totem is very useful if you lean towards the Shred Druid build. To help you sustain such a build in the endgame, Ifeh’s Dire Totem heals you a small portion of your life every time you kill an enemy.

Rogue Uniques

Etna’s Lost Dagger

As a Rogue, you can only imbue core skills, mobility skills, and some Ultimates. That changes whenever you have Etna’s Lost Dagger equipped.

When you have this unique dagger in hand, you gain the power to imbue your basic skills, namely Blade Shift, Invigorating Strike, Puncture, Forceful Arrow, and Heartseeker.

On top of that, Etna’s Lost Dagger incentivizes you to incorporate two non-physical damage types to gain a boost in damage for a limited period!

Gladiator’s Triumph

Do you like playing the Heartseeker Rogue build in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred? If so, you should get Gladiator’s Triumph.

Gladiator’s Triumph is a pair of unique gloves that make the first hit you do on the enemy a guaranteed critical strike. When you critically strike the target using a Marksman skill like Heartseeker or Barrage, that skill gets a hefty damage increase, plus a stack of Overpower.

Necromancer Uniques

Deathgrip

By default, the Necromancer can only summon four Skeleton Warriors at a time. The Deathgrip is another unique pair of gloves in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred that increases the number of Skeleton Warriors you can raise by six (up to a total of 10). You can take things a step further by getting the “Master of Puppets” upgrade, which lets you raise three more Skeleton Warriors to add to your growing minion army!

Mace of King Leoric

If you want to create the Golem Necromancer build in Season of Reckoning, then this next unique item might tickle your fancy. The Mace of King Leoric is a unique one-handed mace that makes your golem consume a nearby Skeleton Mage or Skeleton Warrior every eight seconds. When doing so, the golem is nursed back to full health and gains a considerable damage increase for 10 seconds.

The Mace of King Leoric is best used when taking the Golem’s “Gravebloom” upgrade. This is because the damage penalty for splitting the golem into three smaller golems is effectively addressed by the damage increase provided by this weapon.

Sorcerer Uniques

Levin Grasp

Spark is one of the most underutilized Sorcerer Spells in D4. Fortunately, that is about to change in the Lord of Hatred expansion, thanks in part to the Levin Grasp.

The Levin Grasp is a pair of unique gloves that enable Spark to shock enemies up to nine additional times, dealing 20-30% increased damage. This heavily improves the damage output of Shock, particularly when you take either the “Electric Blast” or “Overcharged” upgrades.

Thundergod’s Blessing

The Sorcerer is a D4 class that is not particularly known for its defensive capabilities. To help address that, Blizzard created some unique items that aim to improve survivability. One of those unique items is the Thundergod’s Blessing.

The Thundergod’s Blessing is a new unique ring that gives you a chance to gain Resolve after damaging a nearby enemy with a skill that deals lightning damage (such as Spark, Lightning Spear, or Ball Lightning). When you damage enemies with your lightning skills, the Thundergod’s Blessing increases the damage of the said skills by up to 300%!

If you are struggling to keep your Crackling Energy Sorcerer surviving in higher Pit Levels, for example, then investing in the Thundergod’s Blessing is a good choice!

Spiritborn Uniques

Protean Heart

The Protean Heart is a new unique amulet that provides additional bonuses, depending on the Base Spirit of the skill you’re using. Here is a brief list of bonuses you will receive:

  • Eagle Skill: +25-30% Movement Speed
  • Gorilla Skill: +25-30% Damage Reduction
  • Jaguar Skill:+25-30% Attack Speed
  • Centipede Skill: +25-30% Life per Second

This particular unique amulet makes the Spiritborn a truly amazing class in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. For example, you can lean heavily towards improved mobility when playing the Evade Spiritborn by casting The Seeker (ultimate skill) every time it’s available.

Widow’s Web

The Devourer—one of the Spiritborn’s ultimate skills—just got a massive upgrade in the form of the Widow’s Web. This is a unique amulet that enables the “Poisoning” effect on enemies to burst when you land a critical strike, dealing 250-300% of the total Poisoning damage instantly.

On top of that, the Widow’s Web deals a portion of that damage to nearby enemies, so you’re effectively clearing monsters with a well-placed Devourer. While you’re at it, take the “Spew Putrefaction” upgrade so that enemies poisoned by The Devourer’s toxic globs take increased poison damage when hit.

Warlock Uniques

Eye of Baal

When you choose any of the Warlock’s primary soul shards, you will also summon a corresponding greater demon. If you want to focus solely on improving the damage of those greater demons, you should get the Eye of Baal.

The Eye of Baal is a unique focus that not only increases the damage done by Ae’grom, Abodian, Laalish, and Vollach, but it also increases your damage dealt by up to 50% for 15 seconds.

Equip the Eye of Baal to unlock the Warlock’s true potential!

Gauntlets of Sheol

Among the Warlock’s ultimate skills, the Fiend of Abaddon is one of the best. When cast, you summon a powerful demon that deals huge amounts of damage with each swipe. You want to improve that by wearing the Gauntlets of Sheol.

The Gauntlets of Sheol are a pair of unique gloves in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred that sacrifice all other Greater Demons you have on the battlefield (like the Tortured Wretch or Profane Sentinel), and deal the Fiend of Abaddon’s damage around them.

Furthermore, these gloves increase the damage of the Fiend of Abaddon by up to 33% per demon killed. Just imagine what this ultimate skill can do when you have the Gauntlets of Sheol equipped, and you engage with the new Echoes of Hatred pinnacle activity in the Lord of Hatred expansion!

FAQ

Are There Any New Unique Items for the Paladin in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred?

There are no new uniques introduced for the Paladin in the “official” launch of the Lord of Hatred expansion. This is not surprising at all, considering that we got access to the new class early by pre-ordering LoH.

Are the New Uniques Better Than the Old Ones?

Not necessarily. However, I did notice that the new unique items in LoH vastly improve certain aspects of each class.

For example, the Etna’s Lost Dagger makes the Rogue’s basic skills “imbueable,” allowing you to add either shadow damage (Shadow Imbuement), poison damage (Poison Imbuement), or cold damage (Cold Imbuement).

What Classes Benefit the Most from the New Uniques?

I would say the Rogue, Necromancer, and Sorcerer. However, the uniques for each class have something incredible to offer, so it’s up to you which one to incorporate on your next D4 build.
