Best Pets In Grow a Garden
There are 67 pets in Grow a Garden with each having their own set of benefits and drawbacks. For this guide, we aren't going to focus on specific reasons why these pets are the best. This means that this guide isn't listing down the pets best for making money or for growing your corps fast.
Dragonfly
As of this writing, the Dragonfly is heavily regarded as one of the best pets in the game. The reason is that it's capable of giving you a Gold plant every five minutes. Gold plant variants have a x20 multiplier, making them highly profitable if you're looking to buy and sell crops.
With a Divine rarity, however, the Dragonfly isn't going to be easy to come by. It's one of the rarest pets in the game right now. But once you have it, you're guaranteed to get rich in a short amount of time, so keep an eye out for it.

Disco Bee
Like the Dragonfly, the Disco Bee also triggers mutations in your plants. In this case, the mutation is the Disco mutation, which offers a multiplier of 125x. Now, you might be wondering, this has a higher multiplier so why isn't this the best pet in the game right now?
The problem is that the Disco Bee triggers its effect every 20 minutes, which is way longer than the 5 minutes of the Dragonfly. To make matters worse, the mutation only has a 12.28% chance of happening, so it's not as good overall.
Raccoon
The Raccoon's usability is rather conditional. Its effect is that you can get a free fruit every 15 minutes. It does this by cloning one of the fruits from your neighbor's garden. This is conditional because the quality of the fruit you're going to get will heavily depend on what your neighbors have.
A good way to put this to good use if by creating an account that you can use as a neighbor for your main account. This is going to be timely and costly, but with the right setup, you're getting a good amount of Sheckles in return.

Mimic Octopus
Like the Raccoon, this pet can be very situational, and you need a bit of work to make it a good pet. Simply put, the Mimic Octopus can mimic the ability of an active pet that you have in your garden. If you have low-tier pets in your garden, this obviously isn't going to be a good choice for you.
Now, think about how strong it would be if you're able to pair the Mimic Octopus with other high-tier pets like the Dragonfly or Disco Bee? That can mean double the Gold or Disco mutations in your garden.
Seal
This is another great pet, but one that isn't exactly going to make you rich. With this pet active, you can get the egg of the pet you just sold. That means if you have no use for certain Mythical or Divine pets, you can sell them and get an equivalent egg in return.
This way, you can continue hatching eggs until you get something that you need. If you don't get any of the pets above, then we highly recommend focusing on getting the Seal first. It's possible the best way to start racking up the top tier pets on this list.
Queen Bee
The Queen Bee is a must for any garden that already has some quality S-tier pets roaming inside it. The Queen Bee basically fully resets a pet's ability cooldown. So if you have a Dragonfly, you can get twice the gold plants in a very short amount of time.
Aside from this, the Queen Bee can also apply the Pollinated mutation, which delivers 3x value to any nearby crop for every 25 minutes.
Red Fox
This functions similarly to the Raccoon, but it doesn't simply clone a plant for a neighbor. The red Fox actually steals a plant seed from a neighbor's farm, making it very helpful if they have something very valuable.
The problem is that it triggers this effect once only. After that, the Red Fox remains rather useless, so make sure that you only deploy this pet once the seeds are actually worth getting.
Chicken Zombie

This is a fairly simple pet. The Chicken Zombie grants you the Zombiefied mutations for your fruits. This results in a 25x multiplier, which is definitely going to be profitable, especially if you have a ton of great plants inside your garden.
Praying Mantis
Last but not least, we've got the Praying mantis. This pet does a simple job of triggering simple mutations liked Gold, Rainbow, and Shocked. It's a low-level pet that can make even the most basic farms more profitable.

Make Your Garden Better With Pets

Having pets in Grow a Garden doesn't just make your place feel less lonely. If you're aiming to get rich or have more pets, then you must put a lot of thought and care into what pets are inside your garden. Here's a quick money-making guide if you want to buy more pets for your garden.
FAQs
What's the best way to get rare pets in Grow a Garden?
The best and easiest way is to buy Legendary Eggs and Rare Eggs from the shop. These aren't always available so it's best to make sure that you're always ready to buy whenever they come around. While expensive, the pets you can get from these eggs have great returns.
Which pet gives the highest sell value boost?
The Disco Bee has the highest sell value effect in the game right now. It applies the Disco Mutation with a 10% chance every 30 minutes, and that mutation gives your crops a 125x sell value. But some players opt for the Dragonfly, which has a guaranteed chance of turning plants into Gold plants every 5 minutes.
How do I hatch pet eggs faster?
To speed up hatching, use pets that boost egg hatch time. The best options are:
- Blood Kiwi: Reduces hatch time by 45 seconds and increases hatch speed by 20% every 60 seconds.
- Rooster and Chicken: Offer smaller hatch speed increases.
- Stack multiples of these pets to reduce hatch time drastically. This works well if you're trying to build up a full pet team quickly.
What pets work best for AFK or passive income farming?
Some pets are great even when you're not actively playing. These include:
- Bear Bee: Applies Honey Glazed mutation every 25 minutes for 5x sell value.
- Chicken Jockey: Can zombify crops for a 25x sell value every 30 minutes.
- Moth: Keeps your pets full by auto-feeding them, which means they keep working even when you're AFK.
- Snail: Passively generates seeds during harvest, saving you money over time.
Combine a few of these, and you can leave the game running while your garden racks up massive profits.
What's the point of stacking the same pet multiple times?
Some pets become far more powerful in groups. For example:
- Blood Kiwi: Stacking 3-5 of them significantly reduces overall hatch time.
- Mole: A group of moles lets you unlock Master Sprinklers fast.
- Bear Bee + Honey Bee + Disco Bee: Together, they layer mutations to reach four total, which you need to trigger Rainbow mutations via the Butterfly.
