We’re listing down the best ranged gear in the land of Gielinor so that you don’t have to look any further.
How Does Ranged Bonus Work In OSRS?
Ranged Bonus affects the damage and accuracy you can deal whenever you’re using Ranged weapons. That said, understanding how it works and why it matters will help you fully know what you need to do to create a truly powerful ranger.
What’s the difference between Ranged Attack bonus vs. Ranged Strength bonus?
- Ranged Attack Bonus: Increases the accuracy of your Ranged attacks.
- Ranged Strength Bonus: Increases the maximum damage (max hit) you can deal with Ranged.
Those things considered, the game runs a hit chance formula which calculates your Ranged Attack based on the Ranged Bonus and the Ranged level against whatever your target’s Defence is.

Dizana’s Quiver
Currently has the best attack range bonus for the cape slot in the game. It’s also one of the new items that you can get from the Fortis Colosseum but getting it means that you’ll have to beat Sol Heredit first. The challenge itself is tough but Dizana’s Quiver is well worth it.
Aside from its superb range bonuses, the quiver can double as an extra ammunition slot as well. This can make Range training runs go by a lot quicker since you’ll spend less time going back and forth between banks to stock up on bolts or arrows.
Twisted Bow
This is known as one of the best bows in the game and certainly one of the best weapons for Rangers as well. It has an attack range of 10 tiles which is more than enough to put you out of harm’s way when going against most enemies.
You can get the Twisted Bow as a rare drop from doing the Chambers of Xeric raid so getting it can be quite challenging. It’s the best weapon to use when going up against enemies that have a high Magic accuracy.
Crystal Armour
You can craft the Crystal Armour using Crystal Seeds. While the set doesn’t have the most impressive bonuses for Ranged, it does give you better accuracy when using specific weapons. Namely, the Bow of Faerdhin and the Crystal Bow. This is a good mid-range set of equipment for all rangers in OSRS.
The armor isn’t all too bad but if you’re planning on using anything other than the crystal bow or bow of faerdhin, you’re better off using another set of armor. Preferably, one with better bonuses for ranged.
Masori Armour Set
Currently the best armor set for Rangers in OSRS. It offers the best defensive and offensive bonuses for Ranged combat. You can get it by doing the Tombs of Amascut Raid. We’ll discuss the set in detail in the following section.
Barrow Gloves / Zaryte Vambraces
While both gloves are great, we prefer the Barrows Gloves more because it’s a versatile piece of equipment. It can be used for Magic, Melee, and even Ranged builds because of its great offensive bonuses. You can get it as a reward from doing the Barrows minigame.
The Zaryte Vambraces are a great alternative to the Barrows Gloves just it case you don’t have it yet.
Venator Bow
The Venator Bow’s passive effect allows arrows to bounce between up to 3 targets. This is great to use in multi-combat areas. The problem is that you need to constantly charge the bow to be able to use its passive effect. The trouble is worth it though as you can easily take on swarms of enemies given that you have high Ranged bonuses.
Toxic Blowpipe
Excellent when used against bosses with a huge amount of health because of its tick damage. Its special effect also heals you for a portion of the damage you deal to enemies. The toxic blowpipe is useable in many scenarios where a high amount of damage is needed and fights are expected to last long.
If you have a Serpentine Helm equipped, you can increase the chance of poisoning enemies to 100%.
Necklace Of Anguish
It is currently the best-in slot neck item for Ranged. There’s no other necklace that can provide 15 Ranged Bonus, and 5 Strength as well. It’s the best way to round up Ranged builds in the game.
Void Ranged Armour
A powerful mid-game set of armor. Wearing the Void Ranger Helm grants bonuses to Ranged damage and accuracy, making it perfect for DPS build. The entire set also provides great defensive and offensive bonuses overall.
Ava’s Assembler
It’s the second best cape slot item for Rangers next to the Dizana’s Quiver. Before the quiver arrived, this was the favorite of many rangers because it can help you recover ammunition as well. Aside from having Ranged bonus, the Assembler is also the only cape slot item that gives 2 Ranged Strength.
Dwarf Multicannon
Finishing the Dwarf Cannon quest rewards you with this amazing Ranged weapon. It‘s used in many moneymaking and Ranged training techniques. The downside is that not all areas in the game allow you to deploy this weapon, which greatly limits its overall useability.
Note: The ranking is based on a combination of offensive and defensive capabilities, unique features, and overall effectiveness in various scenarios. Prices mentioned are indicative and subject to change. Always check the latest in-game updates and community discussions for the most accurate information.
Ranged Armor Sets In OSRS
Ranged armor sets are still good but some people prefer mixing and matching gear to get bonuses for specific situations. For general usage however, it’s still much better to have armor sets in your inventory. These give you great defences and will make you less vulnerable to enemies. Check out this overview of the best Ranged sets first:
Set | Where to Get | Rarity | Best For |
Eclipse Moon | Moons of Peril (Boss Drop) | ★★★★☆ | PvP hybrid builds, burn effect stacking, general PvE use |
Karil's Set | Barrows (Karil) | ★★★☆☆ | Mid-game PvE, agility debuff in PvP |
3rd Age Set | Treasure Trails (Hard+) | ★★★★★ | Prestige, collection value, non-degradable range gear |
Ranger Set | Treasure Trails (Low Level) | ★★☆☆☆ | Early-game Ranged, easy to obtain |
Void Knight | Pest Control Minigame | ★★★☆☆ | Universal PvE, +10% Ranged accuracy and damage |
Masori (Fortified) | Tombs of Amascut (Rare Drop) | ★★★★★ | Endgame PvE, high defense, top Ranged performance |
Armadyl | God Wars Dungeon (Kree’arra) | ★★★★☆ | High-accuracy ranged, second-best permanent set |
Eclipse Moon
The Moons of Peril pit you against one of three bosses. Beating the Eclipse Moon will give you a chance to score a piece of the Eclipse Moon set. This is a melee/range hybrid that’s currently popular with PvP players but the set does have its merits outside of that type of action as well.

Wearing the Eclipse atlatl alone is good enough. The weapon has a 20% chance to inflict burn on targets. At 5 stacks, you can deal as much as 50 damage through the status effect alone.
Having the full set, with the armor included will give you a Ranged bonus of +143. There are still some sets that can provide a higher Ranged bonus but this is still relatively good. Whether you want to do PvP or just play through the game as a Ranger, the Eclipse Moon equipment is a good choice.

Karil’s Set
If you’re doing the Barrows as a Ranger, focus on beating Karil to get his set. This is a good mid-game armor which a lot of players stick with for a long time. One of the reasons why is that it has a pretty good passive effect.
With the Tainted Shot passive, you have a 25% chance to reduce your target’s Agility by 20%. This is good for both PvP and PvE combat. It can prevent targets from escaping as this means their run energy will be depleted as well. If not for its passive set bonus, Karil’s set is still a solid option for the stats it provides.

3rd Age Set
Considering it has stats that’s lower than Karil’s, Masori, and the Armadyl set, a lot of players tend to skip the 3rd Age Ranger set. Part of the reason why is that it’s hard to get considering that you can only acquire this from Treasure Trails.
Still, it’s the third-most powerful Range gear that doesn’t degrade. If not for this, a lot of players get the 3rd Age set just to show off. As the way to get it is hard, it’s more of a symbol of accomplishment rather than a good Range gear.

Ranger Set
This set serves as one of the best early-game armor sets for Rangers. It provides decent defense overall but most importantly, it has great Range bonuses as well. You can get this in the lower levels of Treasure Trails so completing the set early on shouldn’t be that hard.
The set has low requirements as well, making it easy to wear early on.

Void Knight Set
Getting the Void Knight set is a bit of a hassle since you’ll need to do Pest Control for this. While the activity itself isn’t that hard, what makes it difficult is that you need at least 5 people to begin an instance of it. Queues can take relatively long. For maximum efficiency, you’ll need to have the full 25-person party doing the activity as well.
Wearing the Void Ranger helm grants a whopping 10% bonus to Ranged damage and accuracy. This is a popular set for most players looking to create a damage build. The set’s defensive and offensive bonuses can take you through a lot of quests, raids, and bosses.

Masori Armor
This by far, is the most powerful Range set in OSRS in terms of overall bonus. It requires a whopping 80 Ranged and 30 Defence to wear. The Range requirement alone should be a big clue enough to let you know that this is endgame equipment. You can also get this only as a rare drop from Tombs of Amascut.
It has the highest magic Defense bonus out of all the Ranged gear in the game so it effectively negates one of the major weaknesses of Ranged builds in OSRS. If you’re able to, make sure to get the Fortified version of it using Armadyl plates. This increases a few stats, along with a single Prayer bonus.
Item | Attack Bonuses | Defence Bonuses | Other | |||||||||||||

Armadyl Armor
This serves as the second-best Range armor in the game. You can only get it from Kree’arra or one of his three allies. It has a high Ranged accuracy and doesn’t degrade as well so maintaining the gear shouldn’t be a problem. The only problem is getting it as it’s a rare drop from the mentioned enemies.
One major downside of the gear is that it penalizes melee attacks heavily. This means that the set isn’t versatile. Once you’re done using your Armadyl armor, make sure to break it down to get plate pieces. You can use these to fortify the Masori Armor.

Dragonhide
For most of your early to mid-game journey, you’re most likely going to rely on dragonhide armor. You can make these using the crafting skill and each set has good bonuses for melee and ranged combat. There are four types of dragonhide armor with each one being more powerful than the next. They are: Green dragonhide, Blue dragonhide, Red dragonhide, and Black dragonhide.
Ranged Armor Progression
While there are many other Ranged sets in OSRS, the ones above are certainly some of the best. If you want to go through all of the Ranged Armor in the game to test each one out, here’s a typical progression route you can take.

Best Ranged Setups
For this part of the guide, we’re going to list down some of the best range gear setups for various situations. We’re going to list down P2P and F2P options as well.
Best Ranged Bonus
In terms of overall Ranged damage output for general use, you can’t go wrong with the set below. Completing it will net you a total of +293 Ranged Bonus which is the most out of any setup in the game. Of course, building it is going to be a huge challenge, and sets like this are typically reserved for the endgame.
To get pieces of the Masori set, you’ll have to earn them as a rare drop from beating the Tombs of Amascut. It’s going to be a long journey getting all three pieces but it’s going to be worth it in the end.
- Head: Masori mask
- Neck: Necklace of anguish
- Body: Masori body
- Legs: Masori chaps
- Feet: Pegasian boots
- Ammunition: Blessed dizana's quiver
- Shield: Twisted buckler
- Hands: Zaryte vambraces
- Ring: Venator ring
- Weapon: Zaryte crossbow / Bow of faerdhinen
Best Ranged Defence Bonus
Creating Ranged tank builds can be quite tricky. You can create really effective ones by looking for gear that gives great defences, without sacrificing the damage you can do with your bow. In this case, you’re going to want to get the Justiciar set.
While the set doesn’t deal as much damage as the pure damage build above, this can still deal a decent amount of DPS. If enemies are able to get close to you, there’s a lot less to worry about considering you have high defenses. When wearing a set like this, you’ll need to
- Head: Justiciar faceguard
- Neck: Amulet of fury
- Body: Justiciar chestguard
- Legs: Justiciar legguards
- Feet: Guardian boots
- Cape: Infernal cape
- Shield: Crystal shield
- Hands: Barrows gloves
- Ring: Ring of suffering (i)
- Weapon: Zaryte crossbow / Dinh's bulwark
Best PvP Ranged Gear

The new Moon Gear that you can get from the Moon of Perils is really popular among PvP players in OSRS. The Eclipse Moon gear is a melee/range hybrid and is easily one of the best options if you want to duke it out with other players. Thinking about downsides, the only bad thing we can say about this set is that the Eclipse atlatl has a short range.
Wearing the Eclipse atlatl triggers a passive effect which has a 20% chance to inflict Burn on the target. The total damage can reach up to 50 points if you manage to stack it 5 times. For PvP purposes, you can have a granite maul as an alternative weapon. You can use this to quickly kill or heavily damage enemies if they get too close.
- Head: Eclipse moon helm
- Neck: Necklace of Anguish
- Cape: Fire cape
- Body: Eclipse moon chestplate
- Legs: Eclipse moon tassets
- Feet: Primordial Boots
- Hands: Barrows Gloves
- Ring: Berserker Ring (i)
- Weapon: Eclipse atlatl/Granite Maul
Best Barrows Ranged Gear

Karil’s set gives you a chance to lower your target’s Agility per hit. This set bonus makes Karil’s set an excellent choice for mid-game PvP but it’s easily replaceable by other sets in the game. Still, if you’re going to progress through the Range gear in the game, you’re bound to use Karil’s set at one point.
- Head: Karil's coif
- Neck: Necklace of Anguish
- Cape: Dizana’s Quiver
- Body: Karil's leathertop
- Legs: Karil's leatherskirt
- Feet: Pegasian boots
- Shield: Twisted buckler
- Hands: Zaryte vambraces
- Ring: Venator ring
- Weapon: Bow of faerdhinen
Best F2P Ranged Bonus
- Head: Coif
- Neck: Amulet of power
- Body: Green d'hide body
- Legs: Green d'hide chaps
- Hands: Green d'hide vambraces
- Weapon: Maple shortbow / Maple longbow
Best F2P Ranged Defense Bonus
- Head: Rune full helm
- Neck: Amulet of defence
- Body: Rune platebody
- Legs: Rune platelegs / Rune plateskirt
- Cape: Black cape
- Shield: Rune kiteshield
Be Dangerous From Afar
Having the right gear when you’re dealing with enemies as a ranged fighter is going to be very helpful. If you don’t have the right gear, chances are that you’ll only put yourself in danger.
Most importantly, however, the bonuses you get from having the right gear will make you into a completely dangerous fighter. With your gear equipped, it’s now time to get to 99 in Ranged.
FAQs
1. What is the best ranged armor set in OSRS for 2025?
As of this writing, the BIS ranged armor set in OSRS for 2025 is the Fortified Masoria Armor Set which has been at the top ever since it launched. It has the best Ranged offensive and defensive stats. It also brings with it strong magic resistance, which is excellent for endgame PvM and PvP.
If you want to get this for your Ranger, you’re going to have to get lucky at the Tombs of Amascut Raid. After that, you’ll need Armadyl plates to fortify the standard Masori gear.
2. Is Dizana’s Quiver better than Ava’s Assembler?
Yes, it is. The Dizana’s Quiver is superior to the Ava’s Assembler in all aspects, especially when it comes to creating a maxed-out ranger. Not only does it have good bonuses but, it also serves as an ammo slot and has better ammo efficiency.
While it’s inferior, the Ava’s Assembler is still a good choice if you’ve yet to get the quiver in the Fortis Colosseum.
3. What ranged weapon should I use for bossing in OSRS?
The answer varies depending on what you need. If you’re going to go hunt down bosses, we highly suggest using the Twisted Bow and Toxic Blowpipe. The bow works wonders against bosses with high Magic stats while the blowpipe is an excellent choice for rapid DPS and healing.
What of bosses that come with a bunch of minions? For that, you’re going to want to get the Venator Bow.
4. Is Void Ranged gear still worth using?
Yes, it’s a budget-friendly choice if you’re going for mid-game PvM and PvP. If you’re able to get the Void set and the Void Ranger Helm, you get an extra +10% damage and accuracy for all of your Ranged attacks. If you’re doing raids like the Chambers of Xeric, then this is an excellent choice.
5. What’s the best ranged gear setup for F2P players?
In Free-to-Play, the best Ranged bonus setup includes:
- Maple Shortbow or Longbow
- Green D'hide Body, Chaps, and Vambraces
- Coif and Amulet of Power
For defense, swap to Rune full helm, platebody, platelegs, and kiteshield. While F2P gear is limited, this combo offers strong balance for training and PKing.
6. How do I progress ranged armor as I level up in OSRS?
Your Ranged armor progression should look like this:
- Level 1–20: Leather > Studded Leather
- Level 25–40: Frog-leather > Snakeskin > Green D'hide
- Level 42+: Void Knight gear (via Pest Control)
- Level 60–70: Red/Black D'hide, Karil’s, Armadyl
Level 80+: Masori (Fortified), Crystal Armor for synergy, or hybrid PvP sets like Eclipse Moon
