OSRS Sailing is going to launch on Nov. 19. With it, comes an entire new Skill, more areas to explore, and lots of activities to do.
While players are very focused on the new Skill, we're mainly excited for the new OSRS Sailing activities that are coming to the game. These of course, will net you amazing rewards but we don't know exactly what those are for now. Ready to know what these activities are?

Port Tasks
You can think of these as mini-quests, that see you picking up various tasks from Notice Boards which will be available at certain docks in OSRS. Doing tasks will net you Sailing XP and other rewards. There are two types of Port Tasks: Courier and Bounty.
Courier
These are simply tasks that have you delivering cargo between two points. These are randomly generated so they're rarely the same. You'll start with only one task slot. As you progress through your Sailing Skill, you can get more slots for a max of 5. With the right planning, you can do multiple tasks in just a few runs.
Once you get a tasks, you'll need to free up your hands and collect cargo from a location which will be pointed to you. You'll need to carry the cargo to your boat, where it will be placed on your cargo. Here are the Courier tasks in the game.

Bounty
These are tasks where you'll need to fight a specific monster to get a certain item. It's pretty straightforward but since you'll be fighting, it's more risky.

Sea Charting
This activity involves doing certain tasks but it's really intended to make exploring the sea more rewarding. Do these and you'll get once-off XP, alongside a few special rewards. The tasks involved in Sea Charting involve puzzles, data collection, and more. As of the Alpha, there are a total of 29 Sea Charting tasks but we've yet to know if there'll be more at launch. You'll also need access to these tools:
- Captain's log
- Spyglass
- Current duck
- Crowbar
- Deep sea helmet
- Deep sea apparatus
Shipwreck Salvaging
This is a low-intensity gathering activity that sees you moving across the sea to check out sunken shipwrecks and see what you can get from them. To do this activity, you'll need to have a salvaging hook in your Ship. Doing this will reward you with Sailing XP, as well as certain items.
The Salvaging hooks come in various metal tiers. The higher the tier, the better the success rate of salvaging. You can also be allowed to salvage other high tier locations with better salvaging hooks.
Barracuda Trials
At level 30 Sailing, you'll unlock the Barracuda Trials. This might just be the most challenging of all the Sailing activities.
In it, you'll have to navigate obstacle courses at sea to deliver rum and certain supplies to a new faction called the Barracudas. The goal is to do it as quickly as possible. The rewards will include Sailing XP and certain items. There's a scoreboard which will track your runs too!
