As you probably know, there are four base races in Blox Fruits: Human, Shark, Mink, and Sky. But did you know there are two additional races you can only unlock through quests? These exclusive races are Ghoul and Cyborg.

Today, we’ll walk you through how to get one of them—the Ghoul Race. Honestly, Ghoul is one of the most useful races you can get in Blox Fruits. It’s better to grab it as soon as you can because it’s incredibly strong in both PvP and PvE. They’re worth buying Roblox Robux over to make them more powerful.

Whether you’re grinding levels, defeating bosses, or doing non-PvP activities, this race gives you some key advantages. You’ll benefit from increased melee and running speed at night, but most importantly, you get life leech. In case you didn’t know, life leech means you heal yourself by dealing damage to enemies. Let’s get started.

What the Ghoul Race Does in Blox Fruits

The Ghoul is one of two races that you’ll need to do a quest for before you can unlock them in Blox Fruits. Considering that there’s a lot of trouble to be had from getting the race, it’s justified that this is easily one of the best races in the game right now.

Blox Fruits Ghoul Race In-Game Preview

At V1, Ghoul grants two passive bonuses. You get slightly increased health regeneration and a 30% boost to your run speed—but only during the night. So, for example, if it’s nighttime in-game, you’ll move 30% faster than normal. However, these buffs disappear during the day, so your enhanced speed and regeneration are limited to nighttime only.

V2 adds life leech to your fighting style attacks. Fighting styles include melee abilities like God Human, Combat, Dark Step, or Sharkman Karate.

Here’s how the mechanic works:

  • When you land fighting style attacks on another player, you heal for 25% of the damage you deal.
  • When you land them on NPCs, you only heal for 5% of the damage inflicted.

This makes Ghoul V2 a useful sustain tool, particularly in PvP where that 25% life leech can keep you alive longer in prolonged fights.

With V3, you unlock the ability called Heightened Senses. When activated, it gives you an 8-second buff window where you receive:

  • +5% damage
  • +10% speed
  • +15% defense

The most powerful aspect of this ability is the cooldown mechanic. For 8 seconds, you can use any move when it still has 40% of its cooldown remaining. This applies to all your abilities, including M1 click attacks. Normally, you’d need to wait for the full cooldown period, but Heightened Senses allows you to break that rule temporarily.

For example, if your M1 or special move is on cooldown, you can trigger it again early when this ability is active, allowing for faster combos and more consistent pressure during fights.

V4 takes the race to another level. Once transformed, all your attacks—not just your fighting style—gain life leech. This means sword, gun, and fruit attacks will also heal you, providing sustain across your entire moveset.

If you upgrade the V4, the life leech effect becomes even stronger, giving you more healing from every attack you land.

You also unlock a Domain Expansion ability. This creates a dark area around you that comes with several buffs and debuffs:

  • Your night passives become active during the day.
  • You gain a cooldown reduction of approximately 37.5%.
  • Enemies inside the dark area are nearly blinded, reducing their field of vision.
  • Their health regeneration is heavily reduced while inside the zone.

When upgraded, crows will automatically attack any enemies trapped inside your domain when you dash, adding more pressure and chip damage during fights.

What Ghoul Race Is Good For

Ghoul excels at farming until you unlock V4, where it becomes a solid option for PvP as well. Even at V3, it’s highly useful in PvP, but V4 gives it that extra edge that makes it significantly better.

Many Buddha users love pairing Buddha with the Ghoul Race, especially when they have maxed fighting style stats. This combo provides massive health regeneration while taking on players or grinding NPCs with melee attacks.

Pros:

  • Faster speed and increased health regeneration at night.
  • You can switch back to Ghoul Race at any time for free.
  • Life leech works extremely well when combined with Buddha, especially when using the Ghoul Mask.
  • Ghoul is like a hybrid of other races, blending multiple strengths.
  • V3 and V4 abilities are highly effective in PvP, providing cooldown reduction and sustain.

Cons:

  • The night-only passives limit your mobility and regeneration during daytime.
  • Life leech applies only to fighting styles until you unlock and transform into V4.
  • Ghoul is harder to obtain compared to many other races due to the questline requirements.
  • Being a mix of multiple races means Ghoul doesn’t excel in one specific area—it’s versatile, but not the absolute best at any one role.

The pros themselves can be great especially when partnered with strong fruits in the Blox Fruits Dragon Fruit.

How to Get the Ghoul Race (V1)

First, you need to be at least level 1000. If you’re currently in the Third Sea, head back to the Second Sea because you can only unlock Ghoul there.

Once you’re in the Second Sea, your next step is to find Experimic, the NPC you need. Experimic is located inside the Cursed Ship. To find the Cursed Ship, sail to the west side of the main island, and you’ll spot it. It’s huge—you can’t miss it.

Cursed Ship exterior location in Blox Fruits

If you somehow don’t see it, check your graphics settings; they might be set too low. Or maybe... you need a visit to the eye doctor.

Inside the Cursed Ship, you need to locate the exact room where Experimic stands. When you enter the ship, go straight forward and head under the stairs. Turn right, and you’ll find a door leading to a room. Inside, you’ll find Experimic standing in the center.

Collecting 100 Ectoplasm

Great, you found Experimic. Now, you’ll need to collect 100 Ectoplasms. You can get these by defeating NPCs inside the Cursed Ship. Every NPC on the ship is a ghost and can drop ectoplasm randomly. There’s no need to venture outside; just keep farming the enemies here.

If you’ve already unlocked the Third Sea, these enemies should be pretty easy to handle. But if you’re having trouble, switch to Buddha—it’s the go-to strategy for tough spots, and it never fails.

Also, keep in mind that you can exchange ectoplasm for useful items like the Ghoul Mask, a gun, and other gear. Just something to remember while you’re farming.

Once you’ve gathered your 100 ectoplasm, that’s the easy part done. Now brace yourself, because the next step is going to be a grind.

While your here, now would be a good time to try and take on the Leviathan in Roblox Blox Fruits.

Getting the Hellfire Torch

Next up, you need to get the Hellfire Torch. This item is rare and only drops from the Cursed Captain, with a very small chance—between 1% and 2%. Even if you have a double drop game pass, the odds only go up to around 3% or 4%, so it’s still tough.

The Cursed Captain is located on the second floor of the ship. Go upstairs, and you’ll find a room directly in front of you with a table at its center. That’s where the Captain spawns. But here’s the kicker—the Cursed Captain isn’t like your usual bosses.

The Captain only spawns at night, and even then, there’s just a one-in-three chance he’ll appear on any given night. So from every three in-game nights, there will only be one when the Captain actually spawns. Server hopping won’t make this process much faster either.

So, you’ve got a low spawn rate for the boss and a low drop chance for the Hellfire Torch. Good luck, seriously.

Here’s a strategy: stand inside the ship, hop to another server, and check if the Captain is there. If not, hop again until you finally catch him. When you do find him, we recommend using Buddha to make the fight easier, especially after all that time spent hunting him down.

When you finally get the Hellfire Torch—and trust us, it might take a while—make sure you’ve still got your 100 ectoplasm. Then head back to Experimic, talk to him, and you’ll unlock the Ghoul Race.

Ghoul V1 isn’t all that impressive. It gives you slightly increased health regeneration and a 30% boost to your running speed during the night. But that’s not why we’re doing this. You’ll want to push for V2 to really unlock the race’s potential.

Unlocking Ghoul Race V2

To unlock the Ghoul Race V2, you need to complete the Bartilo Quest, also known as the Coliseum Quest. If you’ve already reached the Third Sea, you’ve likely completed this quest already. If not, head over to the Café and speak to Bartilo.

First, Bartilo will ask you to defeat 50 Swan Pirates. Accept the quest, head to their location, and wipe them out. It’s straightforward. After that, return to Bartilo, and he will now send you after Jeremy, the boss located up on the mountain or whatever you want to call that raised area.

Once Jeremy is down, your next destination is Swan Castle. Inside the castle, on the left side, you’ll spot a table with a code on it. Memorize the code or take a screenshot for reference. You’ll need it at the Coliseum.

At the Coliseum, use the code to activate the ruins by pressing them in the correct sequence. Completing this will reward you with the Warrior Helmet and grant you the ability to obtain V2 for your race. Now, let’s actually evolve the race.

You’ll need to gather 500,000 Beli. After that, head to the Green Zone and locate the Alchemist NPC hidden behind a large plant.

The Alchemist will assign you a task to collect three flowers. It sounds simple, but finding them can be time-consuming. There are specific spots where these flowers spawn, and to save time, you might want to check out a guide with all their locations. There's a link in the description for that.

Once you have all three flowers, return to the Alchemist. He’ll then evolve your Ghoul Race to V2.

With Ghoul V2, you gain life leech abilities. When you attack players using a fighting style, you heal for 25% of the damage dealt. When attacking NPCs, it’s 5% healing. Still, as helpful as this is, V2 isn’t the finish line.

Unlocking Ghoul Race V3

Now it’s time to push for V3. First, you need to find Arrow, the NPC. Head behind the hill where the Diamond Boss spawns. There’s an invisible wall—walk right through it, and inside the hidden cave, you’ll find Arrow.

Arrow will give you a quest to unlock Ghoul V3. It’s not that difficult: collect 2 million Beli, then defeat five different players on the same server. If you’re struggling to get kills, you can ask players for help in your server or in our Discord community (link in the description). If you’re a seasoned player, this part should be pretty easy.

After you’ve completed the task, return to Arrow, and you’ll unlock V3.

Ghoul V3 grants you a powerful ability: you’ll be able to use your skills even if they’re still on a 40% cooldown. On top of that, it boosts your damage, defense, and speed by 15%. Almost done.

Unlocking Ghoul Race V4

Finally, it’s time to unlock Ghoul V4.

You’ll need to move to the Third Sea. To start, you must acquire the Fractal Mirror, which drops from the Dough King Boss. If you need help summoning him, check out the detailed guide linked in the description.

Next, you’ll need to unlock the Temple of Time location by defeating rip_Indra. After beating him, go to the top of the Great Tree. There you’ll find an invisible NPC who can teleport you to the Temple.

Once you’ve unlocked the Temple, it’s time to find Mirage Island. This is a sea event, so sail around the sea and wait for the island to spawn. Timing is key—you’ll need a full moon for this to work. Start searching a few minutes before the full moon begins.

When Mirage Island spawns, climb to the tallest point on the island. Stare at the moon and spam your race ability until the moon begins to glow. Once the moon glows, search the island for the gear item. Be fast—Mirage Island only stays for 15 minutes.

After securing the gear, return to the Temple of Time, pull the lever, and unlock access to the V4 Race Trials.

You’ll need two other players with different races. Wait for another full moon. Once it starts, each of you should go to the door marked with the flag corresponding to your race. Stand in front of it and spam your race ability at the same time as your teammates.

This will trigger the trials. Each race has its own challenge. For Ghoul, your trial is simple: defeat all enemies. Using Buddha here will make things easier.

Once all of you complete your trials, you’ll battle each other. The last player standing earns the V4 race.

We recommend picking the life leech ability for your V4. With this ability, your life leech will apply to all your attacks, not just your fighting style skills. But ultimately, it’s up to you—if you’d rather go with the crow ability or something else, that’s fine too.

Once you’ve unlocked V4, you can further upgrade your abilities by talking to the Orb and repeating the trials, but by now, you should know how it works.

Get the Ghoul Race Now

The ghoul race in Blox Fruits is very powerful and you’ll need a lot of help to get it. Hopefully, our guide has done more than enough to help you get this. If you’re still in your first hours in the game, then this First Sea guide might be of good use.
