Starting Out In Blox Fruits

The Leveling System

The leveling system in this game is one of the most important aspects you need to understand. On every island, you'll find enemies, and there will be a quest giver for you to interact with.

The quest giver will assign you tasks to defeat specific enemies. Once you complete the quest, you'll receive money and experience points to help you level up.

As you progress through the game, you'll reach certain levels, and this will unlock new islands for you to grind on. The enemies on these new islands will give you more money and experience but will be much tougher to defeat.

With each level you gain, the amount of experience you need to level up again will gradually increase.

For example, you can see in the bottom left of the screen, where the max level is displayed. At this point, the experience you need to level up is around 125 million. That might sound intimidating, but don't worry!

As you level up, the quest givers on higher-level islands will reward you with more experience.

Now that you have an idea of how the leveling system works, let’s move on.

Stat Points

Stat points are another key feature of the game that you’ll need to get familiar with. Every time you level up, you’ll gain three stat points. These points can be spent in one of five sections: Melee, Defense, Sword, Gun, and Blocks Fruits.

When we first started out, we thought we could max out all five sections by the time we hit the maximum level. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

You can only max out three of these sections. We highly recommend focusing your stat points on just three sections and not spreading them out among all of them.

A good strategy is to invest stat points into Melee and Defense. Melee grants you five energy points, and Defense gives you five health. These two are absolutely essential, so definitely prioritize them. For your third section, you can choose between Sword, Gun, or Blocks Fruits.

Each stat point you put into Melee, Gun, Sword, or Blocks Fruits will give that item a 0.5 damage increase. So, it’s critical to use your stat points wisely and avoid putting them into sections that won’t benefit you in the long run.

Mastery

Mastery is another important mechanic you need to understand in the game. You gain Mastery by defeating NPCs and bosses, but you won’t gain any Mastery from quest rewards. That experience only counts toward leveling up.

Mastery is vital because you need it to unlock moves for each item. As shown in the bottom right of the screen, you need a certain amount of Mastery to use moves for your fighting style, sword, or gun.

In the First Sea, you typically don’t need much Mastery to unlock all the moves for your items. Since the NPCs and bosses don’t give a ton of experience, unlocking skills won’t be that difficult.

Mastery display in Blox Fruits

The Mastery requirement for using your skills is fixed—it doesn’t increase as you level up or anything like that.

For each three Mastery points you gain on an item, you get the equivalent of one stat point for that item’s category. For example, my fighting style, God Human, has 600 Mastery, which is the maximum.

This means you get 200 stat points for the Melee section, since each stat point in Melee increases damage and energy.

Keep in mind that Mastery won’t give you any extra stamina for fighting styles. It only boosts your damage and energy, so focus on those stats when deciding where to spend your points.

Races (Human, Rabbit, Shark & Angel)

When you first join the game, you’ll have a chance to be one of four races: Human, Rabbit, Shark, or Angel. Here's the breakdown of the spawn chances for each race:

  • Human race: 62.5% chance to spawn, it's the default.
  • Rabbit race: 12.5% chance to spawn.
  • Angel race: 12.5% chance to spawn.
  • Shark race: 12.5% chance to spawn.

You’ll know which race you’ve gotten based on the attachments visible on your avatar. For example, if your avatar has shark fins, you're the Shark race. If you have angel wings, you're the Angel race. If you don’t see any special attachments, then you’re the default Human race.

Now, let’s talk about the buffs each race provides. Remember, these are the non-upgraded buffs:

  • Human race: No buffs.
  • Shark race: Decreased damage from water if you've eaten a Devil Fruit and extra movement speed in water.
  • Rabbit race: Increased movement speed by 1.5 times.
  • Angel race: Slightly higher jump.

These are the buffs you get by default. However, to upgrade your race, you need to be level 850 or higher. Race upgrades aren’t available in the First Sea, but once you’re in the Second or Third Sea, you’ll have the opportunity to change your race.

If you’re feeling like paying for it, you can change your race right away in the shop menu for 90 Robux.

How to Obtain Devil/Blox Fruits

Devil Fruits (also known as Blox Fruits in this game to avoid copyright issues) are one of the most important aspects of the game. These fruits grant you various powers, and they are a key part of your progression.

Before we dive into how to obtain Devil/Blox Fruits, we want to explain the different ways you can acquire them. The first, and most popular, method is by rolling for them from an NPC at Jungle Island.

This NPC allows you to buy a random fruit for Beli, the in-game currency. You can only roll for fruits once every 2 hours, which is quite reasonable. When you roll, you have a chance to get one of the 35 Devil/Blox Fruits currently available in the game.

Now, we want to point out something important—Devil Fruits is actually the real name of these fruits, but they’re called Blox Fruits in the game to avoid copyright issues. So, if you hear "Devil Fruits," just know that it refers to the same thing.

The system of rolling for fruits is pretty simple. The more common a fruit is, the higher the chance you have of rolling it. On the flip side, the rarer a fruit is, the less likely you are to get it.

The common to rare fruits are typically the ones you’ll be rolling for more often, while the legendary and mythical fruits are the ones that are much harder to obtain. Additionally, the higher your level is, the more money it will cost to roll for a fruit.

Fruit Stock

The next method of obtaining fruits is through the fruit stock. The fruit stock works similarly to the rolling system, but the rare fruits aren’t usually in stock. The common fruits are typically available, and some very common fruits are always in stock.

The price of each fruit increases based on its rarity, and unlike the rolling system, the prices in the fruit stock don’t increase based on your level. Instead, they have a fixed price.

The Blox Fruits dealer is located on three islands in the first sea: Starter Pirate Island, Starter Marine Island, and Middletown Island. In my opinion, this is the best way to get a fruit you really want, rather than rolling for a random fruit and hoping for the best.

Rolling might not get you the fruit you want, especially if it’s rare, but with the fruit stock, you can wait for it to be in stock and buy it directly.

If you’re after a rare fruit like Blizzard or Leopard, we’d suggest just waiting for it to show up in the fruit stock. You’ll probably end up spending more money trying to roll for it than just buying it directly once it’s in stock.

Finding Fruits on the Ground

The final method of obtaining fruits in the first sea is by finding them on the ground. Every hour, a random fruit will spawn around the map on different islands. Now, how do you get notified when a fruit spawns?

Well, the only way is by purchasing the Fruit Notifier Game Pass for 2,700 Robux. This is the only way to be notified when a fruit spawns. If a fruit spawns on the ground and isn’t picked up within 20 minutes, it will despawn.

Free-to-play players have also found a method to locate fruits without the Fruit Notifier Game Pass, but it’s a very time-consuming and tedious process. The method involves memorizing the fruit spawn locations, then manually searching all the locations.

Once you’ve finished searching, you’ll need to rejoin a new server and repeat the process. It’s a very boring and blind approach because you won’t know if a fruit has spawned in the server yet. But, just in case, you’ll search all the locations anyway.

We really don’t recommend doing this unless you have the game pass. We understand the temptation to want to collect rare or mythical fruits, but it’s really not worth your time if you don’t have the Fruit Notifier Game Pass.

If you do decide to go ahead with this method, well, good luck to you.

Devil/Blox Fruits Explained

Now that you know how to obtain Devil Fruits, let’s break down what they are. Devil Fruits, also known as Blox Fruits in this game to avoid copyright issues, are categorized into three types: Natural (Paramecia), Beast (Zoan), and Elemental (Logia).

Natural Fruits (Paramecia) let you manipulate natural forces or items. For example, the Kilo Fruit controls weight. Of the 35 fruits in the game, 20 are Natural. Some, like Revive and Kilo, aren't great for general use, but others like Spirit, Quake, and Portal are strong in PvP but not as useful for grinding.

Elemental Fruits (Logia) harness the power of elements, like the Dark Fruit, which grants darkness powers. These fruits give you immunity to damage if your level is higher than the NPC’s, known as the "Logia Effect." However, enemies with Haki, marked by black glowing hands, can bypass this immunity. All bosses have Haki, so Logia fruits won’t protect you there, but they’re excellent for grinding against regular NPCs.

Beast Fruits (Zoan) transform you into animals or beasts. The Falcon Fruit is weak compared to other Zoan fruits. A better example is the Buddha Fruit, which turns you into a giant Buddha and is great for grinding because of its massive reach. Zoan fruits are rare, and they require significant Mastery to unlock their abilities.

First Sea Walkthrough

First Sea

When you begin, head to the NPC on the island who will give you a quest to defeat five Bandits. After defeating them, talk to the NPC again to repeat the quest until you're at least level 10.

Once you've completed the quests, head to the front of the island where you’ll find a port. Buy a boat and follow my directions to the next part of your journey.

Defeating Bandits

Once you’re on your boat, make your way to the Bandit area. Hit one of the NPCs once, and immediately head to the nearby wall. For some reason, when there’s a wall between you and an NPC, they can’t deal damage to you, but you can still attack them.

Bandits in Roblox Blox Fruits

While the NPC may be swinging their sword at you, you won’t take any damage as long as you stay behind the wall. Continue hitting them until they’re defeated.

If you use any skill moves on the NPC, it will trigger their skill moves, which can still damage you even if you’re behind the wall. Make sure to stick to regular attacks to avoid getting hit, as using a skill move can one-shot you. Keep defeating these enemies until you reach level 55.

If you're on console, you may need to grind a bit more—around level 60—since the quest progress can be slightly different for console players.

Pirate Village

Next, head over to the Pirate Village. You can either follow me or use your compass, located on the bottom left of your screen, to guide you. Once you reach the village, talk to the NPC. If you're level 55, select "Bobby" for the quest. If you're level 60, select "Brutes."

Bobby, the boss in front of the house, will be your target. If you’re struggling with him, use the wall strategy. Position Bobby against the wall so that he can’t hit you, but you can still attack him. He won’t use his skill moves often, so you should be able to defeat him easily.

Server Hopping for Faster Grinding

After defeating Bobby, press the server button near the chat icon. This will open up a list of joinable servers. Joining a new server might help you find Bobby already spawned, making it easier and faster to continue grinding.

Defeating bosses like Bobby is much more efficient for leveling than grinding normal enemies.

For console players, defeating Brutes will take you to level 60. If you are not on a console, keep defeating Bobby until you reach level 75. Once you hit level 75, move on to the next area.

Desert Island

Once you’ve hit level 75, head to the Desert Island. Here, you'll continue defeating Desert Bandits until you reach level 90. If you are on a console, continue with Desert Bandits until you reach level 75, then take on the Desert Officers.

For non-console players, you should be able to move on to the Desert Officers at level 75, grinding until level 105.

Frozen Village

Next, head to the Frozen Village once you’ve reached the necessary level. If you're on a console, take on the Snow Bandits until you reach level 120. For other platforms, server hop to the Yeti Boss until you reach level 130.

The Yeti Boss offers better XP and is an excellent target for faster progression. Continue grinding until you reach level 130.

Marine Fortress

Once you hit level 130, head to the Marine Fortress. If you're a console player, you will need to fight the Chief Petty Officers until you reach level 150.

For non-console players, you can server hop to fight the Vice Admiral Boss, which is much more efficient. The Vice Admiral Boss is great for grinding, and defeating him will help you level up much faster.

Sky Island

At level 150, you can grind at Sky Island, but we highly recommend skipping it as it’s inefficient compared to other options. If you are on a console, continue grinding at the Vice Admiral Boss or other enemies until you reach level 150. Server hop and keep defeating the bosses to gain levels quickly.

Warden and Chief Warden

From here, you can server hop the Warden until level 230, then move on to the Chief Warden until you hit level 240. Keep server hopping to defeat these bosses and continue leveling up.

The Warden is particularly good for non-console players, while console players can focus on defeating the Chief Warden.

Magma Island

When you reach level 350, head to Magma Island using your Log Pose or compass. For console players, fight the Military Soldiers until level 375. For other platforms, you can server hop to defeat the Magma Admiral until level 425. The Magma Admiral provides excellent XP, making it a top choice for grinding in this stage.

Underwater City

Next, head to the Underwater City once you hit level 450. For console players, fight the Fishman Warriors until level 475. For other platforms, server hop to the Fishman Lord until level 500. The Fishman Lord is one of the best bosses for grinding at this stage.

Middle Skylands

At level 475, head to the Middle Skylands. For console players, fight the God's Guards until level 525. For other platforms, server hop to defeat the Whisper Boss until level 575.

The Whisper Boss and Thunder God are both excellent targets for grinding, but keep in mind that for consoles, fighting the Royal Squad at level 525 is a better option.

Level 575 to 625

Once you reach level 575, keep server hopping to defeat the Whisper Boss and Thunder God until level 625. At this stage, your grind should be much faster as you continue to level up. For console players, continue grinding the Royal Squad until you reach level 625.

Fountain City

Once you hit level 625, head to Fountain City using your compass. Here, you will focus on defeating the Galley Pirates until you reach level 700. Ignore other enemies, as they are less efficient for grinding.

Reaching the Second Sea

Once you’ve reached level 700, you’ll unlock access to the second sea. However, we recommend grinding a little more, reaching level 725 before moving on. The level 700 enemies are not the most efficient for grinding, so it’s better to continue with your current grind to get more out of your efforts.
