There are a lot of ins and outs in Steal a Brainrot, which is why some players tend to struggle getting through the start of the game.

While these mechanics are indeed confusing at times, everything becomes clearer once you have a better understanding of how everything works in the game. For that reason, you're going to need to check out this Steal a Roblox beginner's guide to get better and to understand the game more.

By the end of this guide, we can't guarantee that you'll be a master at the game but what we do guarantee is that you'll be better and that you'll be more optimized with your brainrots in the game. It might feel a bit overwhelming at first but we'll guide you every step of the way.

If you need help getting a huge boost, check out our store at RPG Stash. We've got Steal a Brainrot characters for sale!

Starting Up

Once you load up your first playthrough of Steal a Brainrot, you'll be given $100 to spend and a base to explore. Take this as an opportunity to get a handle of the game mechanics, without feeling any pressure from other parts of the game. It doesn't truly start until you finish the first task which is to buy a Noobini Pizzanini.

At this point in the game, it's pointless for players to start attacking your base and stealing your brainrots. Take this as an opportunity to start understanding things like the controls, buying mechanics, and so much more. The game will guide you through everything you need so there's no need to feel overwhelmed.

If you can, try to make two accounts: one that you use for real, and another that you use for testing out the game. A lot of players do these to get a feel of how they can work about the game's mechanics without spending too much on their main account. It's more work but it's more worth it in the end.

Locking Your Base

Players are free to steal your Brainrots, just as you are free to steal theirs. A huge part of the game is locking your base. This prevents other players from getting your Brainrots but only for a limited time. To understand how to master base locking, you need to understand how the mechanic works first.

Inside your base, there's a yellow circle on the ground. Step on it, and your base locks automatically.

  • New players start with a 60-second lock timer
  • Rebirthing increases how long your base stays locked
  • More rebirths = better protection + more progression options

Rebirthing

If you forget to lock your base, players can walk in and take whatever brain rots you've collected. Rebirthing is one of the most important mechanics in the game. And it's heavily tied to the base locking mechanics.

To rebirth:

  1. Go to the rebirth path
  2. Collect the required brain rots (either by waiting or stealing)
  3. Click the Rebirth button
  4. Boom — you rebirth

Other than increasing your lock timer, rebirthing also unlocks new weapons and tools. Rebirth enough and you'll eventually unlock a second floor for your base, allowing you to use even more Brainrots. Ideally, you always want to put focus on Rebirthing for your progression in the game. Here's what you need and what you unlock:

How To Steal In Steal A Brainrot

Stealing is, of course, the name of the game in Steal a Brainrot. There is more than one way to do it. What you use depends entirely on what fits your playstyle and the situation best. Here are the currently known strategies in the game at a glance.

Method Name

Required Items / Conditions

Core Idea (Expanded)

Risks / Notes (Expanded)

Moreira Method (Block Method)

Access to private servers

Join a trusted person's private server, physically block or trap them during loading so they error out and are forced to leave, allowing you to steal their Brainrot uncontested

Considered scamming, bannable if used on innocent players; partially nerfed by cooldown; relies heavily on lag and timing

Trap n' Swap Method

Traps, Body Swap (Rebirth 10)

Place traps behind a base, body swap at the right timer so the owner becomes stuck, then quickly steal Brainrots (preferably on the first floor)

Requires precise timing and prep; patched interactions reduce effectiveness; owner may retaliate

Overtrap Method

3–5 traps

Predict where a base owner will spawn and repeatedly stack traps there so they are immobilized when the base opens

Timing-sensitive; fails if owner reacts quickly or has counters

Ledge Method

Thin/tall avatar or sentry + traps

Position yourself on a ledge or unreachable spot inside the base to safely steal Brainrots while avoiding attacks

Can fail due to falling or mobility items; temporarily patched; other players may counter

Clone Method

Quantum Cloner, optional Invisibility Cloak

Clone into the base early, hide inside or behind the desired Brainrot, then steal it right before the timer ends

Owner may notice cloning and leave; inconsistent success rate

Traditional Method

Optional Invisibility Cloak

Wait near a strong base and rush in once it opens to steal Brainrots manually

Very easy to detect; high chance of being caught or attacked

Beanie Method

Grappling Hook, Carpet/Broom, beanie avatar

Exploit distraction during admin abuse, clone into base, steal an item, and hide until the owner leaves

Highly situational; complex setup; depends on admin abuse timing

Reverse Moreira Method

None

Join someone's private server, wait until they focus on your base, then steal their rarest Brainrot and instantly leave

Owner may notice and attack; risk of being banned from the server

Spam Report Method

Chat abuse + report access

Force the target to spam chat, report them to trigger an automatic kick, then steal before they disconnect

Extremely risky; abuse can lead to temporary or permanent bans

Inverse Soulless Method

Admin Panel, Carpet, Cloner, high-income Brainrots

Use admin chaos during scammer servers to clone in, stay invisible, steal high-tier Brainrots, and escape quickly

Time-consuming; requires expensive gear; complex execution

Grappling Hook Method

Cloner, Invisibility Cloak, Grappling Hook

Steal a Brainrot near the door and grapple out at the exact moment the base opens

Owner may react instantly; very tight timing window

Normal Way

None

Look for an unattended open base and steal the desired Brainrot normally

Vulnerable to griefers; no protection or escape tools

Team Method

Friends, optional Medusa Head or Webslinger

Coordinate with multiple players to overwhelm the base owner and steal while they are distracted

Requires coordination; still vulnerable to counters

Webslinger Method

Webslinger, optional Body Swap & Medusa Head

Pull the base owner away from their base or immobilize them, then steal Brainrots

Nerfed mechanics; owner may steal from you in return

Bait Method

Optional Medusa Head

Use a popular target with rare Brainrots to draw crowds, then steal unnoticed while others are distracted

Griefers may interfere; owner may still notice

“Go Random Stuff!” Method

Random items

Spam random items or effects on the owner to confuse them while attempting a steal

Low effectiveness; unreliable distraction

Directing Method

Quantum Cloner

Clone into the base and convince the owner to leave the platform (chat, links, etc.), then steal

High ban risk for off-platform directing

Reverse Ledge Method

Small, thin avatar (Robux)

Slowly walk into the base using a thin avatar hitbox to avoid detection, steal, and leave quickly

Requires Robux; still detectable

Reverse Traditional / Admin Method

Admin Panel, Cloner, Invisibility Cloak

Use admin controls to immobilize or control the owner at timer zero, preventing them from locking the base

Requires fast execution; admin misuse risk

“Easy Stealing” Method

None

Steal right before the laser door disappears while the owner is still loading or inactive

Owner may suddenly appear; inconsistent

Troll Moreira Method

Private server, alt account

Block the target via browser immediately after stealing so they disconnect and cannot react

Identity exposure risk; requires alt

Secret Stealing Method

Friend access enabled

Accept a friend request, exploit base friend-entry rules, and bypass invisible barriers

Limited to players with open friend access

“Dodge Em All” Method

None

Steal while dodging external defenses and escape through the back of the base

Hitboxes are large; owner may spot you

Reverse Directing Method

Optional items

Wait for someone else to attempt directing, then steal their Brainrots while they're distracted

Opportunistic and timing-dependent

Turned Off Internet Method

Cloner, Invisibility Cloak

Disconnect internet at the moment of stealing to avoid server updates, then reconnect safely

Very error-prone; may crash or fail

Airplane Mode Method

Same as above

Variant of internet disconnect method using airplane mode

Extremely high failure rate

Mine Swap Method

Subspace Mine, Body Swap, Cloner

Plant a mine and body swap the owner onto it at the last second to stun them and steal

Owner may lock base or attack early

Counter Trap & Swap Method

Traps, Body Swap

Out-trap the thief attempting Trap & Swap, then reverse it and steal from them

Very difficult; requires preparation

Counter Directing Method

Traps

Trap someone attempting to direct others and steal their Brainrots instead

Highly situational
