Diablo 4 , Game Guides

Diablo 4 Season 12, also known as Season of Slaughter, is upon us! With that, you are probably wondering which build you should start with as your first character in the new season. After all, everyone who is going to go through the seasonal journey must start from scratch, as is always the case with season restarts.
Having said that, if you are looking for suggestions, I am here to help! Today, I am going to talk about the best starter builds for new players in Diablo 4 Season 12! Even though these builds ultimately require certain D4 unique items, you can easily use them as your starter just by putting on some legendary aspects.

Best Starter Builds for Each Class in Diablo 4 Season 12
The D4 builds that you will see in this article are arranged in descending order. Even though that is the case, all of these builds are still the best, so it’s just a matter of which class you prefer when starting a new character in D4 Season of Slaughter.
Anyway, without further delay, here are the best starter builds in Diablo 4 Season 12 for each class:
7. Minion Necromancer
+Laid-back minion playstyle
+Explosion of shadow damage via Skeletal Mages
-Minion AI can be finicky at times
If you want to play the Necromancer in Season of Slaughter, I highly recommend the Minion Necromancer. This build can start with two legendary aspects: Aspect of Reanimation and Aspect of the Damned. The former provides your reanimated minions a damage boost for 10 seconds, while the latter increases shadow damage dealt to enemies that are affected by any of your curse skills. In this case, you’ll choose Decrepify to slow enemies down and have them deal 20% less damage.
Since this is the Minion Necromancer build we are talking about, you will summon three powerful minions: the Blood Golem, Skeletal Warriors - Reapers, and Skeletal Mages - Shadow. The Skeletal Mages deal the bulk of your damage, with the Blood Golem granting damage mitigation and a temporary life increase. The Reapers are just there to help reduce your skill cooldowns.
For upgrades, get the newly buffed Ring of Mendeln for a huge explosion of physical damage every sixth attack from your minions. The Hand of Naz is also crucial to the success of this build in the endgame, mainly because it not only summons a Skeletal Mage by sacrificing your other minions but also upgrades them to Skeletal Arch-Mages with a shattering attack that damages more enemies.
If there is one thing that’s cumbersome about this build, it would be managing your minions, especially in the beginning. However, once you get into the endgame, things should be smooth sailing from there.
6. Flurry Rogue
+Easy to pull off
+Substantial upgrades to the build are available later on
-Relatively small AoE
The Flurry Rogue is for those who want a speedy melee character that can go in and out of monster packs and decimate them with ease. At the heart of this build is Flurry, which is a melee skill that allows you to unleash several stabs and slashes, killing monsters that are in front of you.
The limited range is a problem, particularly if you want to get to a higher killstreak in Season 12. Fortunately, this can be addressed by using the Aspect of Encircling Blades to enable Flurry to deal damage to enemies in a circle.
Once you get the chance, allocate Shadow Clone to increase your damage output manifold. Furthermore, Shadow Imbuement is your friend in terms of buffing up your damage early on, though it is replaced with Caltrops for more damage and critical strike chance against vulnerable enemies.
In the endgame, invest in the Deathmask of Nirmitruq for that huge damage increase at the cost of life. If you have this particular unique helmet already, make sure that at least one of your pieces of gear has the “Life on Hit” affix.
Although this build is slow at first, the Flurry Rogue ramps up in both speed and power when you have access to all the necessary items.
5. Pulverize Druid
+Good AoE coverage
+Very tanky
-Slow mobility at the start
Druids in Diablo 4 are slow but methodical. The Pulverize Druid is somewhat like that, but its sheer damage potential is the reason why it is part of our list for the best starter builds in Diablo 4 Season 12.
As you can tell by the name, Pulverize is the star of the show. It’s an AoE ability that deals increased damage against crowd-controlled enemies. With the Raging Pulverize upgrade, you Overpower enemies every 10 seconds, and those that are hit by the attack also take 20% more damage for several seconds.
Obtain the Shockwave Aspect to improve your map-clearing capabilities. The fun starts, however, when you acquire the Rotting Lightbringer. This unique two-handed mace enables Pulverize to create poison puddles that deal continuous damage to nearby enemies for seven seconds.
4. HoTA Barbarian
+Huge damage output
+Plenty of damage-boosting legendary aspects to choose from
-Fury management is key to the success of this build
Hammer of the Ancients (HoTA) is one of the most devastating abilities in the Barbarian’s kit. So, why not use it to vanquish the forces of evil in Season 12?
The HoTA Barbarian utilizes the Aspect of Ancestral Force to give Hammer of the Ancients a much-needed boost in AoE. In the beginning, you’ll incorporate Lunging Strike in an alternating fashion with HoTA to get a huge damage boost from the Earthstriker’s Aspect.
Upon reaching the endgame, you have two choices: proceed with the HoTA Barbarian or shift to the Earthquake (aka “Leapquake”) Barbarian for faster clears. If you wish to proceed with the HoTA, invest in The Grandfather for a huge boost in damage, along with Ring of the Starless Skies for more skill ranks.
3. Evade Spiritborn
+Incredibly high mobility
+One of the fastest leveling builds in the game
-Using Evade multiple times can be nauseating
This next D4 build destroys monsters without using basic or core skills. Yes, the Evade Spiritborn eliminates enemies just by using the default evade (Spacebar). However, to achieve that, you must be at least level 15 to unlock the Eagle Spirit Hall, which allows you to shoot six Storm Feathers every time you evade (hence, the name of the build).
Once you reach the endgame, the power of this build is fully unleashed by acquiring a couple of unique items. The first is the Wushe Nak Pa, which is a unique glaive that amplifies the effects of the Eagle Spirit Hall by up to 300%. The second is the Loyalty’s Mantle unique helmet, which does the same thing, albeit at 100% increased potency (and when you use both Eagle Spirit Halls for the primary and secondary).
The Evade Spiritborn is one of the fastest builds on this list, and is one that is preferred if you want to get the most out of the Killstreak System in Diablo 4: Season of Slaughter.
2. Crackling Energy Sorcerer
+Requires no legendary aspects to start rocking
+Has a lot of utility for offense and defense
-Casting in melee range can be problematic at times
The Crackling Energy Sorcerer is one of those starter builds in Diablo 4 that doesn’t require a legendary aspect to perform well. It only needs Ball Lightning, its “Wizard’s Ball Lightning” upgrade, and the Overflowing Energy passive skill to pull things off.
You deal incredible amounts of lightning damage just by spamming Ball Lightning. Once you’ve unlocked Familiar, use it immediately after casting Ball Lightning to create a “familiar” that occasionally explodes, dealing lightning damage to nearby monsters in the process.
Things truly escalate when you have Esadora’s Overflowing Cameo, which is a unique amulet that greatly increases the damage of Crackling Energy, depending on the collective level of Shock Skills you’ve placed on your action bar. The skills in question include Teleport, Chain Lightning, Charged Bolts, Unstable Currents, Lightning Spear, and Ball Lightning.
The sheer potential of the Crackling Energy Sorcerer makes it an ideal build to use for conquering the new Bloodied Sigil dungeons in Diablo 4 Season 12. If that is not your cup of tea, then you can use this build to push the higher Pit Levels!
1. Wing Strikes Paladin
+Comes alive as early as level 15
+Great damage potential with gear and legendary aspects
-Can be a bit boring relative to other Paladin Builds
Do you want a build that is both beginner-friendly and powerful at the same time in Diablo 4 Season 12? If so, look no further than the Wing Strikes Paladin! This build goes online after reaching level 15 when you have access to the Disciple Oath, which puts you in Arbiter Form, allowing for the wing strikes to occur. Enemies that get close to you are hit by your “wings.” Sounds simple on the surface, right? But wait until you delve into the mechanics!
You see, the Aspect of Tyrael’s Jurisdiction increases the damage of Arbiter Wing Strikes by up to 240%. In the endgame, you combine this with the Sanctis of Kethamar, and you’ll be on your way to conquer upwards of Pit Level 120+!
Seriously, the Wing Strikes Paladin is a no-frills build that has the potential to dominate everything in Diablo 4 Season 12. This gets my certified recommendation for sure!
