Quick Overview
With the new Grandmaster quest, The Blood Moon Rises, came 3 new money-making methods:
- Farming Maggot King - 4-5M/H (Assuming you stick around to get a rare drop)
- Collecting bloodwood sap - 3.7M per hour
- Catching letveks - 900K per hour
In this guide, we will discuss everything you need to know about doing these newly found money-making methods.
To do these methods, you must first complete the quest as mentioned above, but this quest has a pretty difficult boss fight at the end. If you are struggling to beat the final boss of the quest, you can check out our Lord Drakan Final Boss Guide to learn all of his mechanics and how to beat him.
Maggot King Farming

Maggot King is the new repeatable boss added to OSRS with this quest. This boss can drop two new unique items:
- Crimson Kristen - 55M - 1/500 drop rate
- Elder vanator fang - 114M - 1/333 drop rate
This boss can be killed in around 1 minute with proper gear and strategy, which we have covered in great detail in our Maggot King Guide.
Currently, the regular drops from this boss are not that profitable; however, Jagex mentioned a possible revision next week, so we would recommend farming this boss after that update.
Bloodwood Sap
Bloodwood trees are a new type of tree that the players can cut down and collect sap from. This method requires your full attention and is not AFKable; however, it has a pretty decent profit margin, especially for a woodcutting method.
Location

These trees can be found in two different locations in Vampyrum, but we are going to be using the one shown above. To reach this location as quickly as possible, you must first unlock the pillar jumping shortcut located south of the bank chest. This shortcut requires you to mine rubble blocking it from the other side and have level 73 Agility. Once opened, you can use it to jump over the rift and use the rockslide Agility shortcut to reach the bloodwood trees.
Strategy
There are 3 bloodwood trees in total, and you must chop down all of them at once, so let’s talk about how you actually chop down these trees, as it is completely different from any other tree in the game. To cut down these trees and collect sap, you must first have an axe and an inventory full of buckets. (Make sure to bring along your Drakan’s Madellion for banking.) If you don’t have buckets, the NPC near the trees can give you some.

Once you have buckets, you can click on the tree, which will remove a bucket from your inventory and place it under the tree. Now you have to cut open the tree to collect sap. To do this, you must charge up your axe twice. This charging-up process is indicated by the yellow bar above your player character.

To get the best experience rates and profit rates, you will need to do a 1-tick charge up, which is done by clicking on your character twice in the same tick and then clicking on the tree right afterwards. When done correctly, you will get into this rhythm of double-clicking and clicking on the tree, which is the most efficient way of cutting these trees.
Each chop is going to increase the red bar on top of the tree, and when this red bar is full, the tree will start bleeding its sap into the bucket, and the red bar will slowly deplete. Once the red bar depletes, you can click the tree to refill it, giving you a huge chunk of Woodcutting experience. You will refill the bar 3 times before it fully depletes, and you need to chop it again.
To get the most out of all the trees:
- Start chopping one tree, and once it starts bleeding, move on to chopping the other.
- Re-open the wound once the bar fully depletes whilst chopping the other trees.
- Keep all three trees on a loop and chop them as they deplete.
Profit and Experience Rates
Filling an entire inventory of buckets with sap takes around 18 minutes. Each bucket can be used on a log or on already existing arrows to create new seeking arrows. If used on a set of arrows, 15 of them will turn into seeking arrows. If used on logs, you will have to chop and fletch them yourself. Using it on a redwood log, which is the best choice, will give 105 seeking arrows per log. So our profit margins depend on the price of either arrows or arrowheads. Currently, here are the two different profit margins:
- If used on dragon arrows, 420 seeking arrows are created. So 1.2M profit in 18 minutes. Which brings the GP per hour to around 3.7M/H.
- If used on logs, you can create 2940 arrows. So 1.8M profit in 18 minutes, which makes it 5.5M per hour, but do remember that this does not account for the time it takes to fletch these arrows, so the profit per hour will be more like 3.6M/H.
This method also provides around 160K - 220K Woodcutting experience per hour, depending on your efficiency and Woodcutting level. If you also fletch the dragon arrows yourself, you are looking at gaining 88K Fletching experience per hour while also making money.
Letvek Hunting
Letvek is a new Hunter creature that requires level 76 Hunter to catch. They can be caught using box traps, and right now more profitable than black chinchompas without any risk. The reason why they are profitable is the other new AFK Hunting training method, which uses letvek as bait.

The Hunting location is south of the bak chest in Vampyrum, across the pillar jumping shortcut. This shortcut requires you to mine rubble blocking it from the other side and have level 73 Agility.

After reaching the location, simply start placing down your boxes and hunt as much as you need. You can expect to make around 900K GP/H doing this method, and 110K Hunter experience.
