Game Guides , Runescape

Both Old School RuneScape and RuneScape 3 are large, long-term games that require players to gain a lot of experience and make a lot of money. Thankfully, there are methods in these games that can help with both, providing gold and experience almost for free. These are called recurring methods, and they are the only activities in the game that are locked behind a time gate, meaning you can only do them once a day, week, or month. In this guide, we are going to go over all of these methods, their estimated profits, optimised routes, and their requirements so you can make the most of your time playing any of the games.
Both Runescape 3 and Old School Runescape can be a grind, especially if you have limited time. If you want to save time and just enjoy the game, you can check out our RS Store. You can buy everything from finished accounts to gold to make your journey a lot easier.
Old School Runescape Dailies
If you’re a new player, the concept of daily activities might be a little confusing. If that’s the case, we highly recommend checking out our OSRS Beginner Guide to get your first steps right!
Throne of Miscellania

This repeatable event is of the highest importance, especially if you are playing an Ironman account. In this event, you basically act as the reigning king over a kingdom and use your gold to have your citizens farm resources for you. These resources can vary from herbs to hardwood. These resources are collected every 24 hours for you to pick up, or you can let them stack to claim a juicy reward.
Requirements
To participate in the Throne of Miscellenia, you must first complete two quests: Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble.
After the quests, make sure to always have your coffers filled with gold and keep your reputation above 90% for the maximum loot. Reputation drops by 1% every 24 hours, which you can easily increase by raking some weeds in front of the castle.
Gold Earned
You can expect to gain up to 107K profit per day with this ewvet, making you a free 3.2M every month!
Priority Level
10/10
Buying Battlestaves

This daily takes only a few seconds to do and will make you consistent money! This involves having around 1 million gold in your inventory, teleporting to Varrock, and buying all the battlestaves available at Zaff’s shop.
Requirements
This method actually has no requirements, but you can do the Varrock diaries to greatly increase your profits each day. Each Varrock diary tier increases the battlestaves you can buy each day from Zaff:
- No diary: 5 battlestaves
- Easy diary: 15 battlestaves
- Medium diary: 30 battlestaves
- Hard diary: 60 battlestaves
- Elite diary: 120 battlestaves
Gold Earned
With this daily, you can expect to make the following amounts from no diary to elite diary:
- 4K
- 14K
- 29K
- 59K
- 118K
Priority
7/10
Claiming Dynamites

This is a method similar to the previous one, but this time we are heading to Kourend. We will find our NPC in Lovakengj and his name is Thirus. We will be claiming dynamites everyday from this dwarf so make sure to have your Xeric’s talisman for quick access to him.
Requirements
This method requires you to have completed at least the medium Kourend&Kebos diary, just like with the battlestaves, the higher the tier of your diary, the more profit you will make.
- Medium diary: 20 dynamites
- Hard diary: 40 dynamites
- Elite diary: 80 dynamites
Gold Earned
Depending on your diary tier, you can expect to make:
- 16K
- 32K
- 65K
Priority
5/10
Opening Herb Boxes

This is a method that requires a little bit of setup, but it is a great one both in terms of overall gold and herblore supplies.
Requirements
For this method to work, you will first need to gather Nightmare Zone points. These points are very easy to gather, and you can gather millions upon millions of points if you decide to train your stats there. After gathering some points, you can claim herb boxes every day from the reward shop, which you can open to get random herbs.
Gold Earned
On average, you can gain around 136K worth of herbs from a daily opening, which can result in an average monthly gain of 4M gold for free!
Priority
7/10
OSRS Weekly Tasks
Tear of Guthix

There is only one weekly task in OSRS currently, which is the Tears of Guthix minigame. This minigame rewards a massive amount of experience points to the player's lowest-level skill. Making this a perfect way to train your most unwanted skills, such as Agility or Runecrafting.
Requirements
Tears of Guthix quest must be completed to partake in this minigame, but it is highly recommended that the player also completes the Hard Lumbridge diary to gain an additional 10% experience. The player also has a limited time inside to collect the tears, which can be increased by completing quests. The more tears you can collect, the higher the experience reward you can get.
Experience Gained
The experience reward is calculated based on your lowest skills' current level and the amount of tears you have collected, but if you have the hard diary completed alongside all of the quests, you can expect to get around 14K experience in your lowest skill if that skill is at level 80.
Priority
10/10
Honorable Mentions
Before moving on to Runescape 3, there are a few activities that you must know of. These are not necessarily dailies but recurring activities that you can do every hour or a couple of hours.
- Herblore runs: Up to 300-400K profit per hour.
- Bird House runs: Up to 4.6K experience per hour and up to 100K gp per hour.
- Tree runs: Up to 120K experience per hour.
- Brewing chef’s delight (m): 1.4M gp per 2 days.
If you are interested in more guides that make you money, we have a ton of them on our blog section.
Runescape 3 Daily Tasks
There are tons of dailies in Runescape 3, so in the list below, we will only list the most important ones. You can do some of the methods mentioned below multiple times in a day by using a D&D reset token.
Guthixian Cache

Guthixian Cache is a daily D&D you can do to gain a ton of Divination experience. In this minigame, you simply need to throw memories that can be found on the shelves into the pit in the middle of the room without getting caught by the guardians. This is the best way to train your Divination to 99 in Runescape 3.
Requirements
There are no skill requirements for this minigame, but it is recommended to have at least 45 Divination to get better rates. The amount of experience you will get directly correlates to the amount of points you can gather, and those points are tied to the tier of memories you can collect. These memories are Tiny, raw, large, and ancient and yield 1, 2, 3, and 4 points respectively. You can access this minigame through any wisp colony aside from the pale one.
Experience Gained
The experience you can gain is tied to the amount of points you can collect and your Divination level, but at level 45, you can get 156 experience per point you collect.
Priority
10/10
Gathering From Divine Locations
Dicine locations are source nodes that the player can interact with to gather resources at a rapid pace while also gaining a ton of experience.
Requirements
To use this method of gaining a lot of experience every day, you must either obtain these divine locations from Treasure Hunter or craft them yourself using the Divination skill. Higher-tier locations require higher Divination levels. For example, to create a divine magic tree, you must have level 83 Divination. These divine locations last for 25 seconds.
Profit & Gold Earned
It is hard to calculate the exact numbers as they vary depending on the player's stats; however, if we take a divine magic tree as an example, you can expect to make 109K gold per day if you have at least 2500 total level.
Priority
7/10
Killing Evil Trees

Evil tree is an event that spawns an evil tree which the players need to cut down and burn.
Requirements
Evil trees have tiers, the lowest being just an evil tree that requires level 1 woodcutting, farming and firemaking and the highest being the evil elder tree requiring 90 Woodcutting, 45 Farming, and 90 Firemaking. You can only kill 2 evil trees per day, and you must keep an eye on their tracker to know when they spawn.
Rewards
The Evil Tree event rewards players with experience in Woodcutting, Firemaking, and Farming. It also rewards players with items such as clue scrolls, seeds, logs, and crystal triskelion keys. If you are fighting the Elder Evil Tree, you will receive 730 Farming experience per nurturing action, 2,600 Firemaking experience per burning action, and 162/32 experience per chopping action, depending on whether you are cutting the tree or the roots.
Priority
7/10
Operating Rune Goldberg Machine

Rune goldberg machine can be found in the Runecrafting guild, and is used for turning runes into vis wax. This process is extremely profitable since vis wax is needed for every player in the game.
Requirements
For this method, you must have level 50 Runecrafting and some runes to convert into vis wax.
Rewards
You can craft up to 100 vis wax per day with this method, which will profit you around 1.9M gold.
Priority
10/10
Wicked Hood
Wicked hood or wicked set is a runecrafting set that has some pretty neat daily uses. You can withdraw free essence, elemental runes from the hood and can even have free teleports to various altars around the game.
Requirements
As mentioned above it is highly recommended for the player to own the full set to increase the daily effects of this hood. There are no other requirements.
Rewards
You can withdraw up to 175 pure essence, 100 elemental or 5 non-elemental runes and 2 - 3 teleports to any Runecrafting altar every day. Using these methods will allow you to make around 110K gold every day in 1 minute.
Priority
6/10
Daily Challenges & Spins

Daily challenges and spins are one of the most important things that you must do every day on Runescape 3.
Requirements
If you are a member of Runescape 3, you gain 2 treasure hunter keys daily. If you are a premier member, you gain 3 instead. Using these keys will reward you with random items depending on the event that is currently going on in the game.
Challenges can be found under the Adventure tab and reset daily. Each challenge is tied to a skill you have, and you can turn off challenges for skills you have already maxed out. These challenges are fairly simple and, when completed, reward you with a nice chunk of experience in that skill alongside a Treasure Hunter key. Furthermore, as you complete challenges each day, you can open reward caskets that grant various useful items.
Rewards
Rewards vary greatly with this one, both in terms of experience and gold.
Priority
10/10
Jack of All Trades
Jack of trades is an aura that the player can purchase from Solomon’s Store. This aura can be activated every day to gain a huge chunk of experience. Once activated, the player has to get experience in 25 different skills within 3 hours to claim an experience reward that can be used on any skill.
Requirements
This aura requires loyalty points, which can only be obtained by being a member for a long time; as such, this is only for players that already played the game a fair bit. There are 4 tiers of this aura in total, and getting to the highest tier of this aura costs 225K loyalty points.
Rewards
Experience rewards from anywhere between 5K - 29K, depending on your skill level and the tier of the aura.
Priority
7/10
Soul Reaper Tasks

Soul Reaper tasks are boss Slayer tasks that can be completed every day to receive Soul Reaper points. This is a great daily to do both in terms of money and other benefits that you can get by killing bosses every day such as the marks of war or rare drops from said bosses.
Requirements
The only requirement for this task is 50 combat. An important thing to keep in mind is that the Reaper can only assign you bosses that you can access to so keep this in mind to always get easy bosses if you are just starting out.
Rewards
With the reward points, the player can purchase an uncut hydrix if we calculate the profits based on that, each day the player will be getting around 2.8M gold.
Priority
8/10
Runescape 3 Weekly & Monthly Tasks
Shattered World Challenges

Shattered world challenges are weekly events you can do to earn some anime points to spend on the shattered worlds reward shop.
Requirements
There are no requirements for this weekly.
Rewards
You will be rewarded with shattered anima, which can be used to purchase various useful combat-related items or abilities, alongside cosmetic titles and Slayer experience lamps. This makes it useful as these items or abilities cannot be obtained from anywhere else in the game.
Priority
9/10
Herby Wendy

This is a herblore weekly which is especially great for Ironmen who are looking to increase their herblore level for free.
Requirements
The only requirement to access herby Wendy is access to Anachronia. Having a higher Agility level will help the player get to this event.
Rewards
Participating in this weekly will reward the player with points which can be spent on the reward shop to purchase herblore and firemaking experience lamps, a herb bag and its upgrade, and totem pieces of the abyss and crystal.
Priority
5/10
Advance Time
This is not different from the other weekly D&Ds. Advance time is a spell that can be cast 3 times a week to advance the progress of one of your recurring events. It requires level 93 Magic and can be used to progress:
- Managing Miscellania: Advances 1 day with each cast.
- Manor Farm/Anachronia: This is the most profitable one if you are doing bottled dinosaur roars and yak milk, which profits you around 2M.
- Red Sandstone mining: Profits you 1.3M.
- Dream of Iaia: Although there are rare drops from this that are worth millions of coins, it is up to your luck to get those drops.
- Player-owned ports: Never use on this one.
- Crystal flasks: Never use on this one.
- Archaeology research: Can’t be used for profit, but can be used to gain experience and materials for the skill.
Troll Invasion (Monthly)

This activity involves the player defending Burthorpe from a troll invasion which can be done once a month.
Requirements
There are no requirements, but since the player will be fighting waves of trolls a mid-combat level with mid gear is recommended.
Rewards
After defeating the troll army, you will be rewarded with an experience lamp that you can use on any skill you want. The experience scales with your skill level, so if you use the lamp on a level 90 skill, you will receive 64K experience.
Priority
