There are 15 new skills and transfigured gems that have been introduced in Path of Exile: Mirage. Some of them are "holy skills" like Divine Blast and Holy Hammers. I think the theme is a perfect contrast against the Necromancer Saresh, which is the new pinnacle boss in PoE 3.28.
Having said that, if you are interested in knowing what these new skills are, I invite you to read this article to completion. For today, I am going to talk about each of the 15 skills, and I am going to rank them in the end from worst to best. Let's get started!
New Skills Introduced in Path of Exile: Mirage
GGG pays homage to some of the skills that were introduced in the early days of Path of Exile. For example, Sweep has now been turned into Holy Sweep, which deals lightning damage and calls down damaging hammers to enemies that are hit by the said skill.
As mentioned earlier, there are 15 new skills in total in Patch 3.28. They are divided as follows:
- 7 STR skill gems (red)
- 2 DEX skill gems (green)
- 6 INT skill gems (blue)
It is also worth noting that there is a bunch of new PoE Currency that allows you to corrupt a level 20 skill gem for a chance to gain a random support gem of the same color. More of this later on in the article.
Anyway, without further ado, here are the new skills in Path of Exile: Mirage:
Holy Strike

Holy Strike is a new melee skill in Path of Exile that allows you to summon Holy Armaments when you hit an enemy with it. Holy Armaments are minions that cannot be targeted by enemies, making them incredible for endgame farming since you don't have to worry about their HP and survivability.
The damage of the Holy Armament minions depends entirely on what weapon you have in your main hand. You could use something like Maata's Teaching to greatly increase their critical strike chance, but any crafted mace, sceptre, or staff will do just fine.
Kinetic Fusillade of Detonation

The Kinetic Fusillade of Detonation is very powerful on its own. Unlike its base counterpart, this transfigured gem has more hovering projectiles, and the projectiles themselves deal 16% more damage per previous projectile fired in sequence (compared to just 8% from the base gem). The only downside is that it cannot chain to nearby enemies, but the explosion that occurs after a short period is there to compensate.
Holy Hammers

Holy Hammers is one of the skill gems that was showcased in the reveal trailer for Path of Exile: Mirage. When used, you call down a holy hammer that deals physical and lightning damage. If the skill is able to hit an enemy, an additional hammer will fall down, which cascades up to two times.
Now, Holy Hammers work best if you have Power Charges. This is because the skill does 20% more damage and calls down two additional holy hammers when spending a Power Charge.
Divine Blast

Most holy skills in Path of Exile: Mirage deal lightning damage, except for Divine Blast, which deals fire damage instead. The damage of Divine Blast can be improved if you have a shield in the off-hand that has both armor and energy shield on it. A good option for a shield like that is the Aegis Aurora, but any crafted endgame shield will do, so long as it has those two defensive layers.
Shockwave Totem of Authority

Shockwave Totem of Authority, in my opinion, is better than the base skill gem for a couple of reasons. First, it has a higher effectiveness of added damage and more damage overall. Second, it does not have that annoying knockback, which could do more harm than good if you are trying to finish maps as quickly as possible.
That said, the Hierophant is the undisputed king of totems, especially because totem placement speed now affects how quickly the totems get up and running when summoned. The Hierophant has access to "Pursuit of Faith," which increases totem placement speed by 100%. Don't forget "Ritual of Awakening," which grants 5% more damage for every totem you have on the battlefield.
Storm Burst of Repulsion

Storm Blast of Repulsion is a very good transfigured gem, primarily due to its higher damage output compared to the base skill gem.
Creeping Frost of Floes

The Creeping Frost of Floes has higher base cold damage per second. More importantly, this transfigured gem can only have up to five chilling areas (vs. 10 from the base gem), but the chilled ground moves faster and covers a larger area (2.2 radius vs. 1.5).
If you want to take this skill to the next level, buy an Archdemon Crown with a level 25 Hypothermia to deal the maximum amount of damage. Furthermore, get a Foulborn Tulborn that has "+4 to Level of All Cold Spell Skill Gems."
Holy Sweep

Holy Sweep is a vastly superior skill gem compared to the regular Sweep. Not only does it have a much wider radius, but Holy Sweep calls down up to eight hammers that deal damage to nearby enemies, assuming that they are hit with the initial swing.
Flamethrower Trap of Stability

The Flamethrower Trap of Stability is one of the weaker skill gems in PoE 3.28, in my opinion. The only things going for it are that each trap produces six flames (instead of four from the base version) and that it has a lower cooldown (1 second vs. 8 seconds).
If you are going to use the Flamethrower Trap of Stability during league start, I suggest that you choose the Saboteur. His "Like Clockwork" ascendancy node just received a buff in that it now provides 50% increased cooldown recovery rate (up from 40%). Managing your cooldown and trap-throwing speed will enable you to spam the Flamethrow Trap of Stability.
Orb of Storms of Squalls

Unlike the base version, the Orb of Storms of Squalls can be repositioned from its initial starting point by hitting an enemy. Furthermore, this skill can hit more targets, though the orb will disappear after 10 strikes.
The Elementalist, especially equipped with Inpulsa's Broken Heart, is the prime choice for this skill gem, primarily because of Shaper of Storms and Mastermind of Discord.
Shield of Light

Shield of Light is a new retaliation skill in Path of Exile: Mirage that is likely meant for the reworked Guardian ascendancy class. The reason I say this is that it not only requires a shield but also a minion to help create additional waves that damage nearby enemies.
I don't see the Shield of Light as a popular attack skill in Patch 3.28. However, it is there for those who play a build that uses a shield and has at least several empty skill slots to work with.
Shock Nova of Procession

Shock Nova of Procession deals considerably lower damage compared to the regular Shock Nova. However, this transfigured gem compensates for its lower damage by being able to repeat its lightning nova two more times, with each repeat offset from the previous in the direction you target.
Siphoning Trap of Pain

Siphoning Trap of Pain is true to its namesake, as it forgoes the mana and life recovery that the base version provides in favor of more cold damage (doled out over time). The beams that the skill emits apply to up to 15 nearby enemies (as opposed to just 10 from the base version).
Static Strike of Gathering Lightning

The Static Strike of Gathering Lightning is miles better than its base version. This transfigured gem grants the "Gathering Lightning" buff every time you hit an enemy with the skill. You will deal 8% more damage for every stack of Gathering Lightning, up to 96% (12 stacks). The only downside is that the skill only has one maximum beam target compared to the six from the base version.
Charged Dash of Projection

The Charged Dash of Projection has a couple of noteworthy differences compared to the base variant. First, the illusion moves a bit faster and deals more damage per stage. The "stage," in this context, is based on the travel time of the illusion multiplied by your attack time, so investing in attack speed items will surely help. Theoretically, you can have as many as 15 stages.
Second, when you finish channeling the skill, the illusion will be released, damaging nearby enemies in the process. This is in stark contrast to the base version, where you teleport to the illusion instead.
