Important Things to LEVEL
There are multiple levels in this game, such as your innate abilities, your actual weapon, and of course, your player level. What you need to know is the difference between how each of these levels up. It might sound confusing at first, but let us explain it clearly.
How to Level PLAYER LEVEL Fast
Let’s start first with your actual player level. You can see right here at the bottom left of the screen that the max level is 420. To level up your player level, you have to complete missions. These missions are the best way to earn levels.
Every time you level up, you unlock a new set of missions and, with that, a new set of rewards, as you can see at the very bottom of the screen. However, these missions are only good for leveling up your player level.
Now, you might be wondering which mission is the best for leveling. Personally, we love doing the “Capture the Point” mission. This is very easy, especially when you’re by yourself, but it becomes even easier when you’re with others.

All you have to do is literally go to the point, stay on it, and keep defeating your opponents. If you have innate abilities or any abilities that have AOE (area of effect) damage, this mission will be a breeze. The enemies don’t do much damage, and all you need to do is stay on the point.
For example, right now we have Heavenly Restriction, and all we have to do is spam Barrage. Sometimes we even spam Black Flash, and they just drop like flies. Boom, just like that! Bang and they’re gone. Another one—let’s go. You can see that this mission is super simple, and it works wonders for leveling up your player level quickly.
The other mission you’ll want to focus on is defeating a banned user. These are also great for experience, and they’re very easy if you have a group of people helping you. However, keep in mind that banned users have Domain Expansion, so you might not want to fight them right away. You’ll eventually see that they go down pretty easily.
Whenever you defeat a mission, it’s very rewarding because you earn percentages. These percentages unlock chests, which you can use to get some pretty amazing loot.
As you can see right here, when we open the chests, there’s a chance we could get some great items. So, defeating these missions is not only important for leveling but also for gear.
Another good mission to tackle is defeating a curse user. This is pretty much the same as defeating a banned user, but just like with the banned users, curse users can have Domain Expansion, which can make the fight drag out a little longer.
However, with the right kit, you won’t have much trouble. Just remember to focus on controlling the point, defeating banned users, or taking down curse users, and you’ll be leveling up in no time. That’s how you level your player level in this game.
How to Level INNATE ABILITIES
The other most important thing in this game is your innate abilities. As you can see, most abilities—or all abilities—have a max level of 500, but you need to level them up faster because each level unlocks more moves for you.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to level up your innate abilities through missions, so the best way to level them up is through two methods. The first method involves investigations.

First Way to Level MASTERY FAST
One of the most effective ways to level up your innate abilities quickly is by doing investigations. These are an easy and reliable method to rack up tons of experience for your abilities.
You can join just about any investigation, whether it's a Nightmare or something else, and you'll be on your way to massive mastery gains. Running investigations with a group of people makes it even more efficient, but even when the game is crowded with players, there are plenty of dungeons to join.
The setup for an investigation is simple—you get put into a dungeon-like area where your goal is to defeat cursed enemies. These enemies aren’t difficult at all, making it a straightforward way to earn experience.
While grinding at Tower of Infinity (TOI), we relied on investigations to level up quickly. We managed to max out our abilities in about an hour and 45 minutes by focusing on these missions. It’s so effective that you can see significant progress in a short amount of time.
Once you're in an investigation, you’ll be given tasks, like collecting certain items or defeating enemies. For example, we’re tasked with killing cursed enemies that spawn in the area, and the best part is that they’re incredibly easy to take down.
The simplicity of the missions means you can focus on grinding out mastery points for your abilities without worrying about taking too much damage. With every enemy defeated, your abilities gain more mastery.
Normally, in regular missions, you’ll earn about 3 mastery points at the highest level, but investigations give you 5 mastery points, making it an even faster way to level up your abilities.

On top of the mastery points, investigations reward you with extra loot in the form of chests. These chests often contain valuable items, so it's not just about leveling up—you're also gathering gear to improve your character.
As you keep progressing through the dungeon, you’ll face off against more cursed enemies. They’re just as easy to defeat, and with the right skills, you can clear them quickly. There’s a grading system that tracks your performance during the investigation.
The better you do, the higher your rank, which means you earn more experience and better loot. Getting an A+ or S+ rank in the dungeon will give you the most rewards, so it’s worth focusing on performing well.
Once you reach the final stage of the investigation, you’ll need to defeat a boss. The bosses are generally not that tough, but they do sometimes have Domain Expansions, so be cautious.
As a Heavenly Restriction user, we were able to enter the boss's Domain without issue, but if you're not prepared, you could be in for a rough fight. The key is to stay focused and keep your skills up. Once the boss is down, the investigation is complete, and you’ll be rewarded with a ton of experience.
By the time you finish an investigation, you’ll see a massive increase in your level and mastery points. We went from level 60 to 90 in a matter of runs, and that’s the power of investigations.
The fast-paced nature of these dungeons and the rewards they offer make them one of the best ways to quickly level up your innate abilities.
Second Way to Level Mastery FAST
The second way to level up your mastery quickly is by taking on bosses. This method is definitely harder than the others but offers the greatest payoff. What makes boss fights challenging is that you need to really understand the boss's attack patterns.
This isn’t just about jumping in and spamming your abilities. You have to be strategic and know when to attack, when to dodge, and when to parry. For example, one of the hardest bosses in the game is Togi, mainly because most players don’t know how to fight him effectively.
To truly succeed, you need to learn his attack patterns. Once you get the hang of it, defeating these bosses becomes much more manageable.
Togi is a prime example of a boss that requires a lot of knowledge to defeat. The first time you face him, it might seem overwhelming, but once you recognize his moves, you can counter them more easily.
If you watch closely, you’ll see that Togi has certain attack patterns, and if you know when to parry, it gives you a huge advantage. When he starts his stun phase, that's your cue to go in with your attacks.
But if you don’t know his moves, it’s easy to get caught off guard, especially if you don't have the proper buffs and equipment.
We’ve had our share of attempts with Togi, and we’ll tell you—it’s all about timing. Once you know when to parry and when to dodge, you can start racking up the damage. Togi goes through a few stages in the fight, and each stage has its own set of challenges.
In the second stage, he gets more aggressive, but by then, you should be familiar with his moves. During this phase, it’s crucial to be patient, parry at the right moments, and stay aggressive when he’s stunned.
The key to winning this fight is getting into a rhythm with his attack patterns. Once you’ve fought him enough times, you’ll know exactly what he’s about to do next, and that makes it so much easier to avoid damage and counterattack.
For example, when you hear the deep “Wen” sound, that’s your cue to parry. This becomes second nature after a while, and with a few well-timed parries, you’ll have him on the ropes. We were able to solo the fight because we knew exactly when to hit him and when to back off.
Despite the difficulty, there’s a great sense of satisfaction when you finally take down these bosses, especially when you know their attack patterns inside and out. And the rewards are well worth the effort.

In a few minutes, we went from gaining 20 levels just by defeating Togi. You get massive experience gains from these boss fights, and the loot you get can be incredible. For example, we picked up some awesome gear after taking him down, which helps with further grinding.
Bosses in Nightmare mode are particularly rewarding. They provide the best experience and gear, but they also demand skill and preparation. If you can master the art of fighting these bosses, you’ll be leveling up and earning top-tier loot in no time.
It’s definitely a grind, but with enough practice, you’ll be able to defeat even the hardest bosses on your first try, like we did with Togi.
Alternative Leveling Method
Low-Level Mission Method (1-30)
At lower levels, the missions you’ll want to focus on are those that offer the most XP. We quickly realized that capture points have been heavily nerfed. The yellow and purple capture points are now at the bottom of the XP scale, so they’re no longer the go-to missions they once were.
Keep in mind that the XP you get from these missions depends on your current level, so the numbers can vary.
The missions that gave us slightly better results than capture points were exercise missions, where you need to defeat a certain number of cursed enemies. These missions were a bit better, and we found that the white and purple ones offered decent rewards.
Interestingly, we didn’t come across a yellow exercise mission, but it didn’t seem to matter too much. The key takeaway here is that the number of curses you have to kill doesn’t affect the amount of XP you get.
Even if you kill fewer curses, you’ll still earn the same amount of XP as if you took on a larger batch. So, it’s better to opt for the lowest number of curses to kill, as it will save you time and effort.
Sadly, the XP you get from killing curses is much lower now. At level 60, we only received 500 XP for defeating a single curse, which is hardly enough when you need tens of thousands of XP to level up.
For example, at level 60, you might need around 40,000 XP to level up, so getting only 500 XP per curse kill is pretty disappointing. This is why capture points and curse kills aren’t as viable for leveling anymore. They’ve both been nerfed, and the rewards just aren’t worth the effort compared to what they used to be.
The best missions for low-level players at level 12 were the curse user missions, specifically the yellow and purple ones. These missions offer solid XP, and they’re a good option for when you can’t access higher-level missions.
The exercise missions also remain useful, depending on how fast you can complete them and how your character is built.
If you’re focused on efficiency, you’ll want to prioritize either the exercise curses or the curse user missions. The speed at which you can complete these missions will depend on your build, the map, and a few other factors.
For example, we were able to kill a curse user in about 50 seconds, which was our personal best, but for regular exercise curses, it only took about 20 seconds. The exercise curses tend to be faster to complete at lower levels, but it really comes down to the specific situation.
Now that we’ve covered the basics for leveling in the early game, you’ll want to focus on these missions to get from level 1 to around 30.
These methods will help you get there quicker, but keep in mind that everything in the game is dependent on your character’s build, the map, and your overall strategy. Take your time and focus on completing these missions as efficiently as possible, and you’ll level up in no time.
Mid+ Level Mission Method (30+)
Once you hit level 30, you’ll unlock the investigation quest, which is pretty simple to complete. At this stage, you’ll also unlock a variety of new missions, including exercises like defeating curse bosses and tackling a band of curse users.
From our experience at level 60, we’ve found that the exercise boss missions are more rewarding than the standard curse user missions, and the band of curse users provides the highest XP.
The reason we’re saying band of curse users is the most rewarding right now is because it offers the highest XP, though it’s not the best method overall. We’ve done the math and tracked all the XP rewards from different mission types, and here’s what we found:

- Yellow and purple capture points are still the lowest XP rewards, offering around 40,000 XP at most.
- Regular exercise curse missions (white and purple) provide a bit more XP, around 44,000 to 46,000 XP.
- Curse users (yellow and purple) will give you around 46,000 to 49,000 XP.
- Exercise boss missions (yellow and purple) come next, offering between 51,000 to 53,000 XP.
- Finally, the band of curse users (at least the yellow one) gives the highest reward at 55,000 XP.
So, as you can see, while capture points are still at the bottom, band of curse users offers the highest XP reward. But don’t think that’s your best option—band of curse users takes the most time to complete, and it might not be the most efficient for leveling, even though it provides the most XP.
In terms of speed and efficiency, exercise curses remain the fastest method. They’re still a solid choice because, while the XP might not be the highest, they are incredibly fast to complete.
You can easily knock out two exercise curse missions while a capture point mission is still running, and they give a decent amount of XP for the time spent.
After exercise curses, we’d recommend tackling the exercise boss missions. These missions do take a bit more time, but if you have a solid build, good items, and the right stats, you can take down bosses quickly.
These are a bit more challenging, but they offer a good balance of XP for the effort involved. You might need to fine-tune your gear and abilities for these missions, but they’re definitely worth considering if you want to mix things up from the exercise curse missions.
Overall, while the band of curse users provides the highest XP, it’s not the most efficient or time-effective method. We’d still recommend sticking with the regular exercise curses for the fastest progression, and once you’re comfortable, tackle the exercise boss missions for a bit of a challenge.
Boss Method
When you reach level 60, you’ll be able to take on bosses, and this becomes one of the fastest ways to level up. For bosses, we started with the Finger Bearer because it was the only one available at the time.
We ran two tests: one with a four-man squad and one solo. The results were pretty interesting, and they really show how much the team composition can impact the outcome.
For the four-man test, we completed the Finger Bearer boss fight in about 2 minutes. It might have been faster if we were all more coordinated—some of us were holding back a bit, and a few didn’t even have their items equipped properly.
We’re pretty sure we could have shaved some time off that if we were more prepared. But even with that, the Finger Bearer boss gives a hefty 216,000 XP, which is roughly four times the XP you’d get from a regular mission at level 60.
That’s a huge boost, and the time invested is definitely worth it.
We also tried a solo run, which took about 1 minute and 50 seconds. It wasn’t as fast as the squad run, but it still shows that solo runs can be viable if you’re quick enough and know what you're doing.
However, we’d still say that a four-man squad is a better option overall. With a squad, you get more luck, which increases the chances of higher-tier items dropping in your loot chests. Plus, it’s faster when you have a decent team working together.
Solo can work if you’re fast enough, but you’re missing out on the added luck and faster clear times that come with a team.
When comparing methods for leveling, boss farming with a four-man squad is definitely the fastest option. Boss rushing has the added benefit of better loot chances, and the XP is just too good to pass up.
However, bosses don’t have their XP scaled like other missions, so you need to level up to certain milestones before you can move on to the next boss. You can’t just rush through them at every level—you’ll need to reach the appropriate level thresholds to take on stronger bosses.
So, if you’re looking for the fastest method to level up, boss farming with a four-man squad is the way to go. But don’t discount exercise curses missions as a close second.
They’re still a great option, and you can even alternate between the two depending on your playstyle or how fast you clear them. Both methods are solid, but boss farming is definitely the quickest overall.
