Blizzard introduced a lot of new D2R Items in the Reign of the Warlock DLC. If you want to know what they are, then you have come to the right place! This is your essential guide on the new items added in Diablo II: Resurrected-Reign of the Warlock DLC!

Grimoires: The New Warlock Shields

The latest expansion for Diablo II: Resurrected added a new class to the roster-The Warlock! Unlike the other D2R classes, the Warlock is able to equip a two-handed weapon and a shield at the same time.

That said, the Grimoire is a new item type equipped in the off-hand that's specifically made for the Warlock. A typical unique grimoire can either roll certain Warlock Skills, faster cast rate (FCR), and faster run/walk (FRW), among many others.

D2R Warlock Items

There are several new items in Diablo II: Resurrected-Reign of the Warlock that were made for the Warlock Class. These are:

Ars Al'Diabolos

The Ars Al'Diabolos is one of the best items for the Fire Warlock, mainly because it has +2 to Chaos Skills, +25% fire skill damage, and up to +5 to Apocalypse (on a lucky roll). If you get a max-rolled Ars Al'Diabolos, you should definitely consider playing the Fire Warlock build in Season 13.

You can even take things a step further by putting a socket on this unique grimoire using Larzuk's quest reward, and adding the Rainbow Facet: Fire jewel for even more fire skill damage!

Ars Dul'Mephistos

If the previous unique grimoire is meant for the Fire Warlock, then this next one is actually for the Abyss Warlock build. The Ars Dul'Mephistos is one of the only items in the game that can reduce the magic resistance of nearby enemies. Since Abyss and Miasma Bolt deal magic damage, it only stands to reason to invest in the Ars Dul'Mephistos in the endgame if you are playing a Warlock using the said skills.

Now, this is a bit of a controversial unique item in the D2R community. Some people argue that the Spirit Runeword is still the go-to option for casters, especially for those who are on a budget. However, the Ars Dul'Mephistos makes a case for its 30% FCR, 30% FHR, and 25% Magic Find (in addition to the magic damage reduction).

So, whether you're in with the "Spirit" crowd or not, the Ars Dul'Mephistos is still worth using, nevertheless.

Ars Tor'Baalos

Among the unique grimoires for the Warlock in D2R: Reign of the Warlock, the Ars Tor'Baalos is probably the least popular. While it does boost some of the Warlock's demon skills, such as Blood Boil, Engorge, and Consume, these skills are mostly for utility purposes rather than full-on damage.

So if anything, Ars Tor'Baalos is only for niche builds. If you don't have the other unique grimoires in your possession, then the Ars Tor'Baalos is a good substitute in the meantime.

Dreadfang

Echoing Strike and Mirror Blades are two powerful skills available to the Warlock. The Dreadfang improves the latter by providing it with +3 to Mirrored Blades.

Although this unique sword was made with the Warlock in mind, it is actually not a bad thing for other melee builds in D2R as well. For instance, the Bash/Frenzy Barbarian can take advantage of the sword's 33% increased attack speed, 33% Deadly Strike chance, and its ability to cast a level 3 Amplify Damage on enemies on hit.

D2R RoTW: New Runewords

I have written a comprehensive guide on the new runewords in Diablo II: Resurrected-Reign of the Warlock if you want to learn more. But to give you an idea of what they actually do, here's a brief summary:

• Void (Thul + Zod + Ist): Amazing D2R runeword for Abyss Warlocks, especially because of the +3 to Abyss Skills, +2 to all Skills, and 40% FCR.
• Coven (Ist + Ral + Io): +1 to all skills, 20% FCR, and 26% Magic Find is a good combination of affixes for a runeword that is relatively affordable.
• Vigilance (Dol + Gul): Although the Spirit Runeword is the go-to for many caster builds in D2R, the new Vigilance Runeword makes a case for providing you with improved survivability, including 30% FBR, 100% Enhanced Defense, and 35 all-resists.
• Authority (Hel + Shael + Ral): A good D2R runeword for the body armor, Authority shines with its +2 Warlock Skills and a chance to cast a level 15 Miasma Chain on striking. This is good for the Mirrored Blades or Echoing Strike Warlock, though some still prefer the Enigma Runeword in the endgame.
• Ritual (Amn + Shael + Ohm): The new Ritual Runeword provides huge increases in attack speed, attack rating, and damage to demons. It also has the unique effect, where monsters will not leave behind corpses that Nihlathak and other demons could use against you.
• Hysteria/Mania (Shael + Ko + Eld): Hysteria and Mania are just part of the Hustle Runeword of the past. Hysteria is for body armor, while Mania is for weapons. Both of them have good affixes that either grant additional attack speed or movement speed. However, they are trumped by other items in the endgame.

D2R RoTW: New Set Items

The Reign of the Warlock DLC added two new set items to Diablo II: Resurrected. They are:

Bane's Garments

• Bane's Wraithskin (Hard Leather Armor)
• Bane's Authority (Light Belt)
• Bane's Oathmaker (Kris)

Bane's Garments are a three-piece set that is meant for the budding Warlock. You can equip the set body armor, belt, and weapon as early as level 8. The whole set provides 25% FCR, 15 DEX, 40% MF, and +1 to all skills, which are not bad for leveling.

Horazon's Splendor

• Horazon's Countenance (Demonhead)
• Horazon's Dominion (Russet Armor)
• Horazon's Hold (Demonhide Gloves)
• Horazon's Legacy (Mirrored Boots)
• Horazon's Secrets (Occult Codex)

Another set meant for the Warlock, Horazon's Splendor is actually a pretty good set of items in the Reign of the Warlock expansion. Each item in this five-piece set gives something meaningful not only to Warlocks, but also to other classes.

For example, Horazon's Hold grants 10% Crushing Blow and up to 150 Attack Rating. Combine it with another piece in the same set, and you now get 30% increased attack speed as well. This attack speed bonus is huge because it's not found readily in late-game items in D2R.

If I were to choose only two items from the Horazon's Splendor set, I would get the body armor and boots. Why? Horazon's Dominion gives +2 to Demon Binding (for the Warlock) and up to 25% increase in fire, cold, and lightning resistance. On the other hand, Horazon's Legacy provides 30% magic resistance—a rarity in the game. And oh, the boots make you immune to being frozen as well.

D2R Renewed Sunder Charms

Renewed Sunder Charms are just upgraded versions of their "Latent" counterparts. Think of Latent Sunder Charms as the sunder charms of the past, which only allowed you to deal damage to enemies with certain immunities when placed inside your inventory.

To get a Renewed Sunder Charm in D2R, you have to follow a specific Horadric Cube Recipe, depending on the Latent Charm you have in your possession. It usually includes a perfect gem, a certain rune, and a piece or combination of three Worldstone Shards, in addition to the Latent Sunder Charm, of course.

Speaking of which, you have to farm the Latent Sunder Charms by defeating the new Heralds of Terror. They are quite rare, so you have to be willing to spend numerous hours for these unique charms to drop.

Anyway, here's a quick table of what the new Renewed Sunder Charms have to offer and how to craft them:

D2R Worldstone Shards

Worldstone Shards are new consumable items in Diablo II: Resurrected that are not only for upgrading Latent Sunder Charms, but are also utilized to manually turn specific Acts in the game into Terror Zones at any time.

There are five Worldstone Shards in total, and they are:

• Western Worldstone Shard (Act 1)
• Eastern Worldstone Shard (Act 2)
• Southern Worldstone Shard (Act 3)
• Deep Worldstone Shard (Act 4)
• Northern Worldstone Shard (Act 5)

If you want to focus on Act 4 to farm Latent Sunder Charms, for example, all you need to do is consume a Deep Worldstone Shard to turn the Plains of Despair, City of the Damned, River of Flame, and Chaos Sanctuary into Terror Zones.
