Diablo 4 , Game Guides

Blizzard really brought its A-game by providing us with a truly magnificent expansion in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. I’ve been raving about the campaign since its release, and I am now looking into the most amazing builds that you can play in Season of Reckoning.
Today, I am going to go over each of the builds that I think are the best in terms of endgame performance. So, buckle up! These are my picks for the best endgame builds in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred.
Take note that these are endgame builds, so they require some pretty rare items. If you don’t want to farm them yourself, you can head to our D4 Store to buy them at fantastic discounts!
Best Endgame Builds in D4 Season 13
Every class in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred has stepped up in terms of overall performance. Part of the reason why is that the skill tree has been overhauled. In case you don’t know, each skill now has about seven or eight nodes that alter what it can do on a fundamental level.
On top of that, there are now Talismans and Charms that offer unique set bonuses, giving each of the builds I am going to talk about today more depth, damage, and utility.
Since every class in D4: Season of Reckoning is viable now, I am going to share an endgame build for each one. So, without further delay, let’s start with the Rogue.
Penetrating Shot Rogue
It looks like the Rogue is one of the classes that have benefited from the skill tree changes in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. The Penetrating Shot Rogue is so fast that you could farm Tier 110 pits in under five minutes!
The key to this build is Shadow Shot, which is a particular upgrade for Penetrating Shot that makes the skill create two Shade minions that also fire at the same target as yours. When you combine that with the Nightstalker’s Aspect, those Shades will deal even more damage!
However, the fun truly begins when you get your hands on the Eaglehorn. This unique bow will make Penetrating Shot bounce off walls, and if it does so, the arrows are going to hit harder!
Don’t forget to use the Horadric Cube to help you get the Legacy of the Sightless Set. This not only reduces the cooldown of your Ultimate skills, but casting your ultimate resets the cooldown of Concealment as well. So really, this build has gotten its offense and defense covered.
Blood Wave Necromancer
Yes, the Necromancer has become incredible again! This time, you have a familiar build in the Blood Wave Necromancer. But trust me when I say that things are a bit different this time around!
You see, each skill in the game now has three upgrades that can alter what they do. True enough, Blood Wave has the new “Hematolagnia” upgrade, which effectively turns this ultimate skill with a cooldown into a core skill that you can spam, provided that you have the Essence to do so.
This build can certainly use things that can help pull enemies in. Fortunately, there are a few items that can address that—the “Wildbolt” legendary aspect, Godslayer Crown, and Kessime’s Legacy.
What I love about the Blood Wave Necromancer is that the playstyle has just become more fun than its S10 iteration. So, if you liked how this build performed a few seasons ago, you’re going to love it even more now!
Storm Pack Druid
Do you want to command a pack of wolves while also being active at the same time? If so, the Storm Pack Druid is one that I can highly recommend.
By taking the “Werewolf Pack” upgrade and equipping the Storm’s Companion unique pants, you will have a group of werewolves that can deal insane amounts of lightning damage to any monster they see.
On your end, you activate Grizzly Rage to gain a damage bonus and then Lightning Storm to provide some support to your pack of wolves. This build not only promises huge damage numbers, but it is also unkillable. You can farm Pit 120 on this build without a problem whatsoever!
Shield of Retribution Paladin
The Paladin was very strong prior to D4 Season 13, but it certainly has gone down the rankings in the Lord of Hatred expansion. This is not because the class itself got nuked. Rather, the Paladin just got some stiff competition, particularly from the last four classes that I have yet to discuss.
Make no mistake, though, the Paladin is still awesome. And with that, I am giving you the Shield of Retribution Paladin. This is a top contender in the previous season, so what has changed in the Season of Reckoning?
Well, the build is almost exactly the same as its previous iteration. You will still use the Ward of the White Dove, Mantle of the Grey, and Clash (skill) to increase your Thorns damage for the Shield of Retribution.
However, the biggest change is the introduction of the Set Charms. Cathan’s Righteous Will grants a huge 500% damage boost that lasts for 10 seconds. As if that is not enough to convince you, this set of charms gives additional damage reduction and Resolve stacks.
If you like to play a Paladin build, then go for the Shield of Retribution Paladin in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred.
Evade Counterswarm Spiritborn
Remember what I said that these D4 endgame builds require certain items to function as well as they should? Well, that is best exemplified with this next build—the Evade Counterswarm Spiritborn!
Despite what the name would suggest, you’re actually not going to use Evade (spacebar) for this one. Instead, you will use Rushing Claw to move around the map.
The main damaging ability on this build, however, is Counterattack, specifically with its “Counterattack of the Swarm” upgrade. This creates the swarms that deal poison damage.
The items you’ll use on the Evade Counterswarm Spiritborn are primarily to boost the effects and the utility those swarms provide. Ring of the Writhing Moon spawns an extra Pestilent Swarm, and it also makes them orbit around you as you move. Every time they hit an enemy, the cooldown of Rushing Claw is reduced considerably, letting you spam it like Evade.
After that, you have Widow’s Web. This unique amulet immediately deals the damage of the poisons you have inflicted on the enemy, giving it a damage boost in the process. Besides that, surrounding enemies take 10% of the damage from the poison as well.
When all of those things are put together, you have a build that can breeze through T12 content without a hitch! So, if you want to play the Spiritborn Class in Season of Reckoning, look no further than the Evade Counterswarm Spiritborn!
Static Field Blizzard Sorcerer
The Crackling Energy Sorcerer has now been dethroned in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred! Taking its place is a new build that effectively turns a Frost Skill into a Shock Skill. I am talking about the Static Field Blizzard Sorcerer, of course!
Blizzard now has an upgrade called “Static Field” that effectively turns it into a Shock Skill, which you can then improve by utilizing certain items. One of the mandatory uniques on this build is the Raiment of the Sea—a unique body armor that allows Blizzard to linger on an enemy for an increased duration.
This build has complementary skills of different elements, so that you can take advantage of the Aspect of Armageddon and the Aspect of Elemental Constellation for huge damage boosts.
You will need a 6-slot Seal for this one. This is because you need to get the full set bonus of Tal Rasha’s Threefold Way set, as well as the Godslayer Crown unique charm.
The Static Field Blizzard Sorcerer does require you to use more than one button, but that is actually the beauty of the build. It’s fun and dynamic!
Whirlwind Barbarian
A fan-favorite build that has been obliterating enemies left and right in Torment 12, the Whirlwind Barbarian is definitely a must-try in Diablo 4: Season of Reckoning.
Now, there are a couple of variations of this build. The first is how you would typically create a build, where you put “Maximum Life” affixes on your gear to improve your chances of survival.
Then, there is a version of the build that transitions to the Melted Heart of Selig. This time, you don’t want any affixes that increase your HP on your gear. Instead, you rely on what the Melted Heart of Selig can provide—damage taken from your Fury before your HP.
As for the skill itself, you will take Whirlwind’s “Tornado” upgrade to create a couple of Dust Devils that roam around and hit enemies. Gohr’s Devastating Grips is a good choice for this build, as it not only increases the damage of Whirlwind, but it also pulls enemies in, making it easier for you to kill.
All your other items are to help maintain your fury generation. Combined with the Melted Heart of Selig, you are virtually unkillable, even in higher Pit Levels!
Apocalypse Warlock
Among the Warlock Builds in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, everyone collectively agrees that the Apocalypse Warlock is the best out there. The reason is simple: this build burns any monster foolish enough to come close! In fact, some players have already breached more than 350 trillion damage (that’s with a “T”) with the right setup!
Naturally, Apocalypse has a very long cooldown. However, when you use Umbral Chains, you can cast Apocalypse every time you accrue 20 stacks. You supplement its damage by using Command Valloch every time it’s available. This will provide you with some Overpower stacks and increased wrath generation for several seconds, which are important to the success of this build.
Take note that the Apocalypse Warlock requires several items for you to truly know why it’s powerful. These are:
- Hands of the Worldbreaker
- The Hemat Stone
- Fleshwrit Carapace
- Heir of Perdition
If you’re contemplating what Warlock Build you should use, forgo everything else and set your eyes on the Apocalypse Warlock!
FAQ
Which Class is the Strongest in Week 2 Meta?
I would say it’s a toss-up between the Static Field Blizzard Sorcerer, Whirlwind Barbarian, and Apocalypse Warlock.
How Often Does the Meta Change in the Lord of Hatred?
Well, you get a really good feel for the best endgame builds a week after a new season’s launch.
Is the Horadric Cube Important in the Endgame?
Absolutely! Use the Horadric Cube’s various recipes to improve your gear. Many players (including myself) have been using the cube to get the necessary set charms for our builds. I suggest you do the same.
