Diablo 4 , Game Guides

Do you want to unlock your Diablo 4 build’s true potential and destroy the higher Pit and Tower levels? How about farming lair bosses in under 30 seconds? Well, that is possible when you are armed to the teeth with only the Best D4 items, specifically Mythic Uniques.
This is our Mythic Unique Items guide for Diablo 4, where you will learn what they are, why they are highly coveted, and why you should incorporate them into your build as soon as possible, especially if you want to handle any type of content in the game with ease.
What Are Mythic Items in Diablo 4?

A Mythic Unique Item in Diablo 4 is an item that always rolls the maximum of every affix that it has. You will know if an item is a Mythic Unique if it has that signature purple background when you hover over it.
Back then, Mythics such as the Harlequin Crest always came with a fixed set of affixes. However, starting in the current season of Diablo 4, all Mythic Items now only have two fixed affixes, and the other two are random affixes (that are determined from their available affix pool).
For example, the Harlequin Crest always had the following set of affixes:
- Maximum Life
- Cooldown Reduction
- Resource Generation
- All Stats
However, in the current version of Diablo 4, the Harlequin Crest now only has the primary core stat of your class, plus maximum life. The remaining two affix slots could be anything. In the case of the Harlequin Crest pictured above, it rolled with cold resistance and resource generation.
The reason for this change is that some builds could benefit from at least one or two different affixes from those Mythic Items. Hence, it was changed to what it is today.
D4 Mythic Items vs. Unique Items
Another important thing to note here is that “Mythic” in Diablo 4 is now an item quality. This means that any D4 unique item now has a Mythic version. Take these Fists of Fate gloves as an example:

If you have noticed, the Mythic version of the Fists of Fate has a maximum damage bonus of 390%, as opposed to the Ancestral Unique variant, which only has up to 300%. This is one of the key things about Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4, where these items have a 30% increased effect on their unique powers.
That is the main reason why the Best D4 builds are fully decked out with Mythic Unique items. It is also worth noting that Blizzard has released a new patch that allows you to equip more than one crafted Mythic Unique item on your build.
For those who did not know, at the launch of the current Diablo 4 season, you are only limited to wearing one “crafted” Mythic Unique item. By “crafted,” we mean to say Mythic Uniques that were created from the Blacksmith, Jeweler, or the Horadric Cube’s new “Upgrade to Mythic” recipe.

When a Mythic Unique Item has that “crafted” tag, you are not able to equip more than one. Thankfully, this has now been changed due to the recent update. You can now equip as many Mythic Unique Items as you want, regardless of whether they are farmed naturally or crafted from the aforementioned sources.
What Are ‘Iconic’ Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4?
Iconic Mythic Unique items in Diablo 4 refer to the original Mythic Uniques prior to the current season. These are:
| Iconic Mythic Unique | Gear Type | Fixed Affixes |
|---|---|---|
| Andariel’s Visage | Helmet | Primary Core Stat Poison Resistance |
| Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander | Staff | Weapon Damage Lucky Hit: Resource |
| Doombringer | Sword | Weapon Damage Maximum Life (%) |
| El’Druin, Sword of Justice | Sword | Weapon Damage All Damage Multiplier |
| Harlequin Crest | Helmet | Primary Core Stat Maximum Life |
| Heir of Perdition | Helmet | Primary Core Stat Movement Speed |
| Melted Heart of Selig | Amulet | Primary Core Stat Resource Generation |
| Nesekem, the Herald | Glaive | Weapon Damage Vulnerable Damage Multiplier |
| Ring of Starless Skies | Ring | Primary Core Stat Attack Speed |
| Shattered Vow | Polearm | Weapon Damage Damage Over Time Duration |
| Shroud of False Death | Body Armor | All Stats All Resistances |
| The Grandfather | Two-Handed Sword | Weapon Damage Critical Strike Chance |
| Tyrael’s Might | Chest Armor | Primary Core Stat All Resistances (%) |
As mentioned previously, all of the Iconic Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4 can roll two random affixes. This is a good change because it lets you truly tailor the right affixes for your particular D4 build.
Best Mythic Uniques to Farm in Diablo 4
Because of the recent changes to Mythic Unique Items in Diablo 4, the list of the best Mythics has been diluted now because you also have to take into account that all unique items can be upgraded to their Mythic variants.
With that said, we are still going to provide you with what we think are the chase Mythic Uniques, especially because they provide a lot of amazing things for most D4 builds. Here are the best Mythic Uniques to farm in Diablo 4:
- Ring of Starless Skies: This is ideal for builds that are resource-intensive. The Ring of Starless Skies not only reduces the resource cost of your skills when equipped, but it also increases your damage by up to 50% for a few seconds when using your skills.
- The Grandfather: Builds that can utilize a two-handed sword should think about incorporating The Grandfather. This Iconic Mythic Unique can now roll a guaranteed critical strike chance that is much higher than a standard roll on other weapons. Besides that, if you happen to acquire a Grandfather that has two other favorable affixes for your build, you can simply go to the Occultist and change the weapon damage affix (via Enchanting) to something that you can benefit from.
- Harlequin Crest: The Harlequin Crest has been rebalanced this season. Although it lost its iconic 20% damage reduction, that is compensated for by the increase in skill ranks (from 4 to 6). If your build requires your primary skill to be as high as it can be, then go equip the Harlequin Crest to address that.
- Melted Heart of Selig: Barbarians are quite popular nowadays, which is why the Melted Heart of Selig is a good thing to farm, especially if you are playing the Whirlwind Barbarian or another build that can utilize it. This greatly improves your survivability when worn. However, you must remove all affixes that increase your maximum life from your gear. The key is to have your HP be as low as possible to amplify the Melted Heart of Selig’s effect.
- Any Unique Item for Your Build: Unique items in Diablo 4 can now drop as their Mythic Variants when farming. They always come with a 30% increased effect of their unique power, which is why they are highly sought-after. Hence, farm or craft a Mythic Unique Item that your build needs to unlock its full potential. Don’t worry, you can now equip more than one crafted Mythic Unique after the recent patch.
Where to Farm Mythic Unique Items
There are two ways you can obtain Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4. The first one is through crafting from the Blacksmith, Jeweler, or Horadric Cube.

The second approach is through farming. Mythic Uniques can be obtained as a random drop. Having said that, where do you actually farm them? Well, here are some locations:
- Lair Bosses: When you open the hoard chest after defeating a Lair Boss, you will have a chance of obtaining a Mythic Unique from the pool of unique items that they can possibly drop. For instance, you might receive a Mythic variant of Gohr’s Devastating Grips when you open Grigoire’s hoard chest.
- The Undercity: You have a high chance of getting a Mythic Unique Item if you put the “Mythic Tribute of Armaments” as tribute before opening the portal towards the said dungeon. Make sure that you have the Portal Prankster node from the War Plans (Gutter Filth) in order for these special treasure goblins to appear while you’re in The Undercity. Killing the Portal Pranksters guarantees another treasure chest after defeating the district boss, therefore, improving your chances of acquiring a Mythic Unique Item. Keep in mind that with the recent update, Mythics are no longer guaranteed every run, so the drop rate is now based on RNG.
- Mephisto: After defeating the Lord of Hatred himself, his hoard chest drops some pretty good items, including some Mythic Uniques (if you are lucky). Take note that you need a Crux of the False Prophet to open the said chest, which can be obtained from the Season Rewards or a random drop.
- Hell’s Prize: If you frequently do Helltides, consider taking the “Hell’s Prize” node from the Helltides Activity Tree for your War Plans. This will create a new tortured gift of the same name that requires 666 Aberrant Cinders to open. When you do open it, there is a chance that a Mythic Unique Item will drop, especially if you do Helltides in Torment XII.
You can check out our D4 Boss Loot Table to find out where certain unique items drop from.
What Do You Get from Salvaging Mythic Uniques?
The two random affixes that can now roll on Mythic Unique Items in Diablo 4 can become those that your build does not need. That is why you’d probably have to salvage many Mythic Uniques in order to get back some of the Resplendent Sparks that you have used in crafting them from the Blacksmith or Jeweler, assuming that you went that route. This begs the question: what do you receive in return?
Well, here are the things that you will acquire when you salvage Mythic Uniques:
- 137-150 Baleful Fragments
- 12-16 Forgotten Souls
- 1 Resplendent Spark
The amount of Baleful Fragments and Forgotten Souls you will get from salvaging Mythic Unique Items depends on the item type. For instance, you will get more Baleful Fragments if you salvage a two-handed weapon like The Grandfather or Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander. On the other hand, you will get the least crafting materials from salvaging if the item you have salvaged is a ring or an amulet.
Regardless of the item type, you will get only 1 Resplendent Spark from salvaging your extra Mythic Uniques. Resplendent Sparks can be used as a necessary ingredient for crafting the Mythic Unique Items, in case you were wondering.
