One day, while you were playing Path of Exile 2, you saw people talking about items that sell for a certain amount of Divine Orbs. As a complete beginner in this game, you probably have no idea what a Divine Orb is and why it’s important in the PoE 2 economy. Luckily, you have come to the right place!

In this article, we will go over the things that you need to know about the Divine Orb. We’re also going to give you some tips for farming Divine Orbs in Path of Exile 2, so stick around to learn more!

What is a Divine Orb?

Example of a Divine Orb in Path of Exile 2

A PoE 2 Divine Orb guide should begin with what the item in question actually is. The Divine Orb is a type of currency in Path of Exile 2 that randomizes the numerical values of the modifiers that are already on an item.

For example, if your body armor can roll anywhere between 130-155 to maximum life and it’s currently at 133, you can use the Divine Orb to reroll that so the item gets a random number from within the specified range.

Take note that this currency item does not result in values that are outside the modifier’s limit. Therefore, you have to craft an item that has high-tier mods if you want to get the most out of the Divine Orb.

How is It Used?

Technically speaking, a PoE 2 Divine Orb is used just like any other currency item in the game. You just right-click on it and then click on the item you want to use it on. That’s it!

However, the Divine Orb is commonly used to purchase valuable items on PoE 2 Trade. For example, Ingenuity, which is considered one of the best unique items in Path of Exile 2, is currently being sold for five to seven Divine Orbs on the said platform.

The more coveted unique item, Astramentis, is sold for an eye-watering amount of 160 to 175 Divine Orbs! This amulet is primarily used by attribute-stacking builds that get more awesome the higher their main attributes are.

Because those things are hard to obtain for the vast majority of players in the game, some would just resort to collecting Divine Orbs and exchange them for valuable uniques.

The Divine Orb is also used to purchase rare items with magnificent rolls. The Ice Strike Monk is one of the most popular PoE 2 builds right now, which is why an Expert Slicing Quarterstaff with a high-tier increased critical hit chance, physical damage, and attack speed modifiers, sells for a relatively large amount of Divines.

Where to Get the Divine Orb?

There are three ways you can obtain a Divine Orb in Path of Exile 2. The first is via a random drop by defeating high-level monsters and bosses. Farming difficult Tier XIV+ maps is often the way to go if you want to acquire a Divine Orb using this method.

The second way to get a Divine Orb is by trading with other players. People will usually part ways with their Divine Orbs for a hefty amount of PoE 2 Exalted Orbs. At the moment, a single Divine Orb can be purchased on the trade website for roughly 115 Exalts. Of course, the price may vary depending on the trade economy.

Both of the aforementioned methods require plenty of time to accomplish. If you don’t have time to devote to farming because you’re busy in real life, you can buy PoE 2 Divine Orbs instead.

Our PoE 2 Store, for example, sells stacks of Divine Orbs at greatly discounted prices. In fact, if you buy Divine Orbs from our store by the bundle, you get a few more pieces for free!

PoE 2 Divine Orb Farming Tips

Okay, so you know that the Divine Orb is primarily used to obtain endgame gear. The next question you’re probably asking is—how do I farm Divine Orbs in Path of Exile 2 more effectively? Read further to find out some awesome tips!

Collect Popular Item Bases of Normal Rarity

If you don’t know, there are several item rarities in Path of Exile 2. However, the only thing that you need to concern yourself with in terms of farming Divine Orbs is the “Normal” item rarity.

Normal rarity items are used as bases for crafting. They are quite easy to distinguish because of their white text and white border when you hover over them. You can use crafting currencies like Exalts and Regals to create potentially awesome gear.

Normal rarity item example in Path of Exile 2

Why do you need to collect normal items, you ask? Well, that is because of a couple of reasons. For one, some people use the Orb of Chance to turn these trash items into something of value. More specifically, every time you use a Chance Orb on an appropriate item, that item has the possibility to turn into a highly coveted unique.

For instance, utilizing the Orb of Chance on a normal Heavy Belt may result in a Headhunter if you are lucky. Of course, there is a huge probability that the item gets destroyed but that is something that you have to be willing to make if you want to obtain something that you can sell for multiple Divine Orbs.

That said, the most popular normal items that you can sell for profit include:

Another reason why players purchase normal items is that they will use them to craft endgame gear. For example, the Attuned Wand is a good base wand to use for crafting because it can roll increased spell damage, elemental damage, and + to level of all spells, among many others. The said wand is also known for its implicit modifier, which gives you the ability to use the Mana Drain skill.

Here is a list of normal items for crafting that you can put up for sale:

  • Attuned Wand (at least level 17 Mana Drain)
  • Siphoning Wand (at least level 18 Power Siphon)
  • Rattling Sceptre
  • Expert Crescent Quarterstaff
  • Expert Dualstring Bow
  • Expert Forlorn Crossbow
  • Expert Bombard Crossbow
  • Expert Cultist Greathammer
  • Expert Wayfarer Jacket
  • Expert Waxed Jacket
  • Expert Steel Plate
  • Expert Studded Vest
  • Expert Shaman Mantle
  • Amethyst Ring
  • Gold Ring
  • Lazuli Ring
  • Prismatic Ring
  • Bloodstone Amulet

You can sell these items on the trade website for Exalted Orbs. Alternatively, you can enable the “Trade” chat in-game. You might find some people who are looking for these normal crafting bases from time to time.

Trade Exalted Orbs

Once you have accumulated enough Exalted Orbs from selling normal items, you can trade them for a Divine Orb on PoE 2 trade. When you are on the website, select the Divine Orb icon in the “Items I Want” section and then the Exalted Orb icon in the “Items I Have” section. After that, press “Search” at the bottom of the page.

On the next page, scroll down a bit to have a general idea of how much a Divine Orb actually costs. This is necessary because some people may input absurd prices. Alternatively, you will find some that are priced significantly lower than the average. Do not fall for this because this is just a way for some players to troll you.

Example of Divine Orb prices on PoE 2 trade

As you can see in the image above, you can tell that the Divine Orb typically costs 113 Exalted Orbs. When you’ve found someone selling a Divine Orb at a reasonable price, click on “Contact” and it will send a private message to the seller in-game.

It goes without saying that you have to be online to contact the seller in the first place. If the seller agrees to trade, they will send you a party invite, and then you have to go to their hideout to complete the transaction.

Aside from looking at the trade website, you can go to the in-game Currency Exchange to know the ongoing price of a Divine Orb as well. The only reason why not a lot of people use the Currency Exchange for this purpose is that some people sell Divine Orbs for a cheaper price on PoE 2 trade.

Crafting process in PoE 2

Craft Items Yourself

When you reach the endgame, PoE 2 Exalted Orbs and Regal Orbs start dropping like candy. Instead of selling the normal items that you find while farming, you can use the Regals and Exalts that you have in your stash to craft high-value gear.

If you don’t know how it’s done, the typical crafting process in Path of Exile 2 goes something like this: Start by using an Orb of Transmutation, which will turn the normal item into a magic item. Follow that up with an Orb of Augmentation and Regal Orb to transform that into a rare item with three random modifiers.

Take a look at the item you’ve crafted so far. Are the three modifiers good enough to be used on a PoE 2 build? If so, you can proceed with the next stage of the crafting process, which is to use three Exalted Orbs.

Begin by using one Exalted Orb. Is the resulting modifier good? If yes, then proceed with another Exalt. If the new mod that came out is acceptable, then use another Exalted Orb to finish the craft. The item that you have at this point should have six affixes in total.

If you are happy with the finished product, go to the trade website, input the base name of the crafted item (for example, Expert Forlorn Crossbow), and select the appropriate stat filters to initiate a search. This will give you an idea of how much you should price the item you have crafted.

It also helps to set the buyout price to “Divine Orb” to narrow the search results even further. This particular option is found under the “Trade Filters” section at the bottom-left corner of the initial page.

Create a Strong Build for Endgame Farming

The Divine Orb is a very rare currency item in Path of Exile 2. Although it can drop from anywhere, you can get Divine Orbs more frequently by farming high-tier maps.

To farm Divine Orbs more effectively, you have to use a pretty strong build that is meant for endgame farming. Builds like the Cast on Ignite Hexblast Infernalist, Tri-attribute Stacker Tempest Flurry Legionnaire, and any Stormweaver build that leverages Archmage to a great extent are amazing contenders.

Generally, you want a build that can eliminate monsters quite easily. You have to account for map-clearing efficiency because the more maps you accomplish, the higher your chances of seeing a Divine Orb drop.

Use Item Rarity Gear

It has been discovered that item rarity in PoE 2 is quite awesome. For those who don’t know, it is a modifier (explicit or implicit) that influences the quality of items that drop by killing monsters and bosses. Not only that but “IIR” seems to affect currency drop rates as well. It is unclear if GGG will do something about this in the future. In the meantime, item rarity gear can increase your chance of getting Divine Orbs for sure.

If you want to dedicate your playing time to farming Divine Orbs in Path of Exile 2, use some pieces of gear that have item rarity mods on them.

You can check your total IIR value by bringing up the skills page and then clicking on that tiny icon on your primary skill that shows all of the details about it. You can find the necessary information under “On Kill Effects.”

Checking IIR value in Path of Exile 2

You don’t need to invest so much in item rarity. The sweet spot seems to be anywhere between 150% to 250%. Anything more than that is subject to diminishing returns.

Run the Trial of the Sekhemas

One of the reasons why you need to use a powerful build to farm Divine Orbs in PoE 2 is that you want to clear the Trial of the Sekhemas quickly and easily. Wait, isn’t that one of the Trials of Ascendancy, which allows you to choose an ascendancy class after completion? Yes, it is!

However, you’re going to visit this place not because you want to get all of the ascendancy nodes for your character. Instead, you are here to kill the last boss in the trial and get more lucrative loot!

That said Zarokh, the Temporal is the final boss of the Trial of the Sekhemas. When you defeat him successfully, he drops a boatload of items, including uniques, rare equipment, and Divine Orbs, among others.

If you have what it takes to finish the trials without ever getting hit, you can even get the Temporalis, which sells for an exorbitant amount of Divines on trade!

It is important to note that finishing the Trial of the Sekhemas is easier said than done. To even get to Zarokh, you have to sweep all four trial rooms clean. Furthermore, any afflictions you may have collected along the way are applied when fighting the boss, so it’s a pretty difficult encounter. Suffice it to say, this Divine Orb farming strategy requires you to use a competent build that can melt the boss in under two minutes.

To make your Trial of the Sekhemas run a bit more bearable, put various relics that increase honor resistance and maximum honor. For the uninitiated, honor is essentially your second life while inside the aforementioned Trial of Ascendancy.

Every time you get hit, you lose some of it relative to the damage dealt, as well as the amount of honor resistance you have. When you lose all of your honor, your trial run ends and you’ll have to start all over again.

Now, the amount of honor you have depends on your life and/or energy shield, coupled with the modifier that increases your maximum honor by a certain percentage. If you want the boss fight to have some room for comfort, aim to have more than 3.5k honor at the very least.

If you still have space in your Relic Altar, you can also put a relic that allows you to see the next room on the trial map. This lets you plan your course of action more strategically and alleviates the need to acquire a similar effect from the Merchant that resides in the trials.

Complete Juiced-up Maps

When you finish the campaign, the majority of your time will be spent clearing maps. To enter a map, click on any blue node on the Atlas and put a Waystone on it. After that, six portals will open that allow you to enter the area. Do not be fooled by the several portals that have opened because you only have one chance to finish the map. If you die because of an unforeseen on-kill effect, for example, then your map run fails.

Anyway, if you are confident in your ability to finish maps successfully, make sure to improve your Waystones to maximize your Divine Orb farming runs. There are a couple of ways you can do this.

For starters, use the crafting currencies to roll Waystones until the max number of modifiers is achieved. If you don’t have an abundant supply of Exalted Orbs yet, you can stick to the usual Transmute, Augment, and Regal.

Modifying the Waystones will make the resulting map harder. Again, it’s imperative that you run these maps with a PoE 2 build that’s capable of clearing everything without dying.

Example of modified Waystones in Path of Exile 2

Another way of juicing your maps is by using an improved Precursor Tablet. You can spend an Orb of Transmutation and Orb of Augmentation to add a couple of mods on the tablet itself for maximum benefit. Precursor Tablets cannot be inserted along Waystones when opening maps. They are specifically placed inside Lost Towers.

Improved Precursor Tablet in Path of Exile 2

Precursor tablets that can irradiate nearby maps are also good. Irradiated Maps in PoE 2 simply mean that the monsters found in these areas are a level higher than normal. The harder the content, the higher your chance of getting Divine Orbs, so keep that in mind.

If you don’t have Precursor Tablets, you can instead search for map nodes that are covered in this weird red icky thing. This signifies that these maps are suffering from corruption. Not only are the monsters found in these maps a level higher (similar to irradiated maps), but the corruption itself also adds a random modifier to your Waystone, making it more challenging to complete.

Aside from that, killing monsters in areas affected by corruption may summon more enemies from beyond, effectively ramping up their numbers. Luckily, that is what you want because the more enemies you kill, the better your chances of acquiring Divine Orbs in PoE 2.

It is also worth noting that the higher the tier of Waystones you use, the better your odds are at obtaining Divines. If you can farm Tier XIV and Tier XV Waystones without dying, then your chances of getting some increase exponentially.

Search for Boss Maps

In case you haven’t noticed, not all maps in Path of Exile 2 contain bosses unlike in PoE 1. The reason for this is that GGG wanted bosses to be more challenging, with better rewards to match their level of difficulty.

If you want your best chance of getting Divine Orbs without fighting the pinnacle bosses in the game, then you have to search for these boss maps on the Atlas and kill the head honcho that resides within.

Killing bosses in Tier XV maps will reward you with points that you can use on the boss section of the Atlas Tree. Each node grants bonuses that are quite impactful for Divine Orb farming. For instance, the “Spoils of War” node increases the quantity of items that drop by defeating map bosses by 15%.

Another noteworthy boss node is “Beyond Reality.” When allocated, any map that contains a boss has a considerable chance of being affected by corruption when entered. This is the same modifier we talked about in the previous section.

Breach and Delirium Are Good

In terms of the PoE 2 endgame systems that you can engage in, it seems that both Breach and Delirium are quite good in helping you farm Divine Orbs consistently. The main reason why is that these types of content give you a relatively large number of monsters to deal with when activated.

Breach is the more popular of the two, though. Activating a Breach lets you fight groups of monsters that occasionally drop Breach Splinters. When you collect a full stack, it will turn into a Breachstone, which serves as your key to the Twisted Domain.

The Twisted Domain, in case you don’t know, is home to one of the best pinnacle bosses in Path of Exile 2—Xesht, We Who Are One. If you defeat him successfully, you might have a chance of getting the Hand of Wisdom and Action. This is a highly sought-after unique item in the game because of the value it brings to attribute-stacking builds.

At the moment, the Hand of Wisdom and Action sells for several Divines on the trade website. You can either put these unique gloves up for sale at a similar price or lower the value a bit so that they sell more quickly.

Although doing Breach is highly recommended, Delirium is not bad at all. Certain Distilled Emotions like Distilled Suffering and Distilled Isolation are quite popular because they can instill amulets and grant notable passive skills that might be out of reach for some builds.

It is also worth mentioning that the Delirium Mirror that you activate at the beginning of a map affects the entire area and lasts longer than Breach. If your build is not fast enough to kill as many Breach Monsters as possible, then perhaps you’re better off farming Delirium instead.

Tackle Pinnacle Content

Most unique items can be obtained as a rare drop from defeating map monsters or through using the Orb of Chance. However, some can only be acquired by eliminating the pinnacle bosses.

At this stage of Path of Exile 2 Early Access, there are several pinnacle bosses that are worth your time. These are Xesht, Zarokh, King in the Mists, The Arbiter of Ash, and the Trialmaster. The first two bosses mentioned can become more challenging when certain conditions are met.

If you want to make Xesht incredibly hard to defeat, you can allocate the small nodes on the Breach portion of the Atlas Tree. Why would you even want to increase the difficulty of the encounter, you ask? Controlled Metamorphosis—a unique item that lets you allocate passive skills without being connected to the tree—can only drop when fighting Xesht at Difficulty 4.

Controlled Metamorphosis Atlas Tree node in Path of Exile 2

How about Zarokh? To increase Zarokh’s difficulty, you have to insert specific unique relics at the Relic Alter prior to entering the Trial of the Sekhemas. Putting “The Desperate Alliance,” for example, gives you a chance to get the “Against the Darkness” unique item after defeating him.

If you are absolutely sure that you can eliminate Zarokh without getting hit even once, plug The Last Flame at the Relic Alter. This unique incense relic drops from Zarokh as well, which means that you have to fight him once to get a feel of the encounter before attempting a no-hit run.
