The Kinetic Blast of Clustering Necromancer is touted as one of the best builds for farming heavily juiced-up Breaches in the endgame. From a competent league starter, it has now blossomed into a build worth investing tons of PoE currency by purchasing a good weapon, the right jewels, and gear.

In this article, I will cover the basics and introduce you to a fun build that has impressive offense and almost impenetrable defense. Welcome! This is my guide for the Kinetic Blast of Clustering Necromancer in Path of Exile: Mirage.

PoE Mirage: Kinetic Blast of Clustering Necromancer Overview

This build uses Kinetic Blast of Clustering (KBoC) as its primary skill. When used, it hurls a projectile that causes a few explosions on collision with an enemy or terrain. It gains a significant damage boost from increasing your spell damage, so equipping an endgame Kinetic Wand with spell damage and good modifiers is crucial.

Although there is a league starter version of this build in Path of Exile: Mirage, this guide focuses on the endgame variant, specifically the one with Chaos Inoculation allocated.

The KBoC Necromancer is one of the best builds for juicy Breach Farming because it leverages mechanics that allow it to deal absurd damage and clear an entire screen of monsters with ease.

The first technique involves Desecrate and Volatile Dead of Seething. Their main function is to provide huge bonuses in damage thanks to the Necromancer's "Corpse Pact" ascendancy node.

Desecrate generates the corpses that Volatile Dead of Seething consumes, providing a scaling bonus in attack speed up to 200%. The good news is that Spellslinger Support automatically casts this, so you don’t have to activate it manually.

The second technique focuses on two skill gems: Tornado and Bone Offering. Tornado allows your KBoC projectiles to reflect damage to enemies in an area, while Bone Offering boosts your chance to block attacks and spells.

Although KBoC deals physical damage, all of it is converted into chaos damage because of Overwhelming Malice, a notable passive from a Medium Cluster Jewel. Therefore, your endgame Kinetic Wand focuses on chaos damage penetration, spell damage, and conversion of non-chaos damage into chaos damage.

Ascendancy Nodes

When you are still starting out, I highly recommend that you get Commander of Darkness after completing the first lab. This is to provide you with a 30% increase in damage and elemental resistance—two bonuses that should make leveling easier.

After you have finished the second lab, remove Commander of Darkness and then allocate these ascendancy nodes in the following order:

  1. Plaguebringer: Gives 10% more damage against enemies if there is at least one corpse nearby. Monsters, on the other hand, deal 10% reduced damage to you, which is good for early survivability.
  2. Corpse Pact: Provides a huge increase in attack speed that works really well with the Desecrate + Volatile Dead of Seething tech mentioned earlier.
  3. Mistress of Sacrifice: Makes Bone Offering affect you at a 50% reduced effect.
  4. Commander of Darkness: Use this until you gain access to the Farrul Bloodline.
Ascendancy Nodes Chart

To unlock the Farrul Bloodline in Path of Exile: Mirage, you have to defeat Farrul, First of the Plains in his den. You need to capture the Farric Tiger Alpha, which is a beast that appears in level 80 maps during Einhar Missions. This beast unlocks a beastcrafting recipe that allows you to open portals to Farrul’s Den.

When Farrul is dead, you can now allocate major nodes on his bloodline, provided that you still have at least two ascendancy points. Speaking of which, unspec Commander of Darkness again and take Huntleader from the Farrul Bloodline.

Huntleader summons a Spectral Tiger on the battlefield, whose sole purpose is to greatly increase your crit chance while it’s active. When combined with other critical strike chance modifiers, you should be able to achieve a 100% crit chance in the endgame!

How to Craft the Endgame Weapon

Your endgame weapon for this build is a Kinetic Wand that has attack speed, mana, spell damage, chaos damage penetration, and a couple of critical strike modifiers. The process of crafting this weapon in Path of Exile: Mirage is actually quite simple, though how many PoE Divine Orbs you will spend depends on how lucky you are with the right mods.

Anyway, here is how to craft the endgame Kinetic Wand for the KBoC Necromancer:

  1. Get an ilvl 84+ base with fractured mana modifier.
  2. Spam with Deafening Essence of Zeal until you get T1 crit (chance or multiplier).
  3. Put "Suffixes Cannot Be Changed" and then go Harvest Reforge Critical to force the other crit modifier.
  4. Go to the Crafting Bench and put Suffixes Cannot Be Changed again, only this time, use a Veiled Chaos Orb.
  5. Add a modifier that can block some of the mods from appearing via the Crafting Bench (ex. Increased lightning damage, chance to Shock).
  6. Unveil via Jun and take "Attacks with This Weapon Penetrate 15% Chaos Resistance."
  7. To finish the craft, go to the Crafting Bench again and put "(46-50)% Increased Spell Damage, Gain 4% of Non-Chaos Damage as Extra Chaos Damage."

FAQ

What Makes Kinetic Blast of Clustering Necromancer Amazing in PoE: Mirage?

It’s simple playstyle and incredible damage output that scales with mana and spell damage modifiers.

Which Support Gems Are Essential for the Build?

This build utilizes a couple of Spellslinger Support setups that include:

  • Desecrate + Volatile Dead of Seething
  • Tornado + Bone Offering

Where Do I Find ‘Overwhelming Malice’?

Overwhelming Malice is an important part of the build, as this notable passive skill converts all physical damage into chaos damage upon critical strike.

That said, Overwhelming Malice can only be found in a Medium Cluster Jewel (Critical Strike). Since this passive skill does not have a unique tag, spam this cluster jewel with Orb of Alteration until you get it.

What Modifiers Should I Prioritize on Gear?

  • Spell damage
  • Energy Shield
  • Mana
  • Critical Strike
