Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt has introduced the spear-wielding vixen—the Huntress! She is actually incredible in every way and we highly encourage you to give this new class a try. If you want to learn more, then read further! For today, we will discuss everything you need to know about the Huntress Class in PoE 2 Patch 0.2.0!

The Huntress is someone who benefits a lot from a high critical hit chance. If you do not want to waste time farming currency and would like to outfit your Huntress Build with the best items, then do visit our PoE 2 Store for all your needs!

Why Choose the Huntress?

Huntress

With the classes that are already available in Path of Exile 2 Early Access, why should you consider playing the Huntress? Well, aside from being a new addition to the roster, the Huntress offers a completely unique playstyle to the game.

In case you do not know, the Huntress wields a spear, which is a two-handed weapon that is never before seen in the franchise. In many of the gameplay trailers that developer Grinding Gear Games has already showcased, the spear can be utilized for stabbing and slashing.

That said, the Huntress in PoE 2 is a force to be reckoned with. The main selling point of this class is that she is a balanced character who is able to go into a thick pack of mobs and out in several seconds due to her sheer power and abilities.

While she can utilize the one-handed weapon in melee range really well, it also seems that the Huntress is a proficient mid-ranged fighter who can throw the spear at her enemies, killing them shortly after.

Ascendancy Classes

The Huntress has two ascendancy classes she can take after completing the Trial of the Sekhemas or the Trial of Chaos. These are the Amazon and the Ritualist.

Amazon

Amazon

The Amazon is proficient in killing enemies with lethal elemental damage. This PoE 2 ascendancy class can reach astronomical critical hit chance numbers due to her aptly named “Critical Strike” node. By increasing accuracy as much as possible, the Amazon can improve her chance of landing critical hits on enemies by over 90% with the right gear and passive skills!

Predatory Instinct can highlight certain HP thresholds on the enemy, allowing her to deal 50% more damage to those that have their open weaknesses revealed. Follow that up with “In for the Kill” and she turns into an agile attacker who can move quickly and attack swiftly with her spear!

You can check out our PoE 2 Amazon Guide to learn more about this awesome ascendancy class.

Ritualist

Ritualist

If you want a more unorthodox ascendancy class in PoE 2, then you should definitely check the Ritualist out! Her standout feature is her ability to equip a third ring with Unfurled Finger. Although the modifiers on the ring cannot be improved by equipping the Ingenuity belt, having an extra ring is already quite powerful, so that is fine.

As the Whispers Ask is an ascendancy node that enables the Ritualist to take one random modifier from a slain rare monster. Taking the notable node right next to it (called As the Whispers Demand), the Ritualist can sacrifice a small portion of her life to gain a random monster modifier as well. However, this ascendancy node only has a 1-mod limit, so do keep that in mind if you are to take it.

Huntress Skills

To be clear, any class in Path of Exile 2 is able to wield the right weapon type and get access to skills available to those weapons. However, we are talking about default skills in this section. Since the Huntress is an expert in using the spear, then we will go over the skills specifically for the said weapon only.

There are a few standout skills that the Huntress can utilize to a much greater extent. Sure, you can have the Smith of Kitava or other ascendancy classes in PoE 2 wield a spear, but no one can handle it better than the Huntress!

With that out of the way, here are the Huntress Skills in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt:

Whirling Slash

Whirling Slash

Whirling Slash is a rather interesting skill. When used, you perform a slashing motion that creates a storm (aka whirlwind) that continuously damages nearby enemies. You can utilize Whirling Slash a few times, and every time you do so, the storm gets bigger and bigger. What’s more, whenever you go out of the storm’s area of effect, it will explode and deal even more damage!

Despite its unique properties, the Whirling Slash is actually used as a way to improve the damage of another skill, which we will discuss later. For now, all you have to know is that this is best exemplified by the Ice Twister Amazon.

The way that the said build works is that it uses Frostbolt to create Chilled Ground. Casting Whirling Slash while on top of this ground effect will create a huge whirlwind that is infused with cold damage.

Another way to infuse the whirlwind with elemental damage is by acquiring a companion that can either drop Burning Ground or Shocked Ground in its wake. Using Whirling Slash on top of these ground effects will create a fire- or lightning-infused whirlwind, respectively.

If you are interested in incorporating Whirling Slash into your next PoE 2 Huntress build, here are the support gems that we believe are perfect for this skill:

  • Martial Tempo
  • Rage Support
  • Cold Exposure
  • Lacerate
  • Font of Rage or Font of Blood
  • Note: Replace Cold Exposure with the appropriate elemental exposure support gem depending on the damage type of your build

Disengage

Disengage

Disengage is a skill that can either be used defensively or offensively depending on the situation. When used on its own, you jump backward and hit enemies in front of you while doing so. This allows you to detonate Whirling Slash as it helps you get out of its area of effect to initiate the explosion.

On the other hand, when you successfully parry an attack and use Disengage on the enemy that has the Parried Debuff, the skill will create a damaging shockwave that also hits nearby enemies. Utilizing Disengage in this manner removes the Parried Debuff from the affected enemy and, in turn, gives you a Frenzy Charge which you can use to enhance your other spear skills.

That said, we suggest that you put the following support gems into Disengage:

  • Ingenuity
  • Shocking Leap
  • Pinpoint Critical
  • Inevitable Critical
  • Despoiler

Spearfield

Spearfield

In Path of Exile 2, you are going to be surrounded by a lot of enemies. That is why you need to use skills that can hit more than one, which is what this next skill does.

Spearfield is a skill that prompts you to stab the ground using your weapon to burst forth a bunch of spears that spread in a large cone in front of you. These spears can linger on the ground for a relatively long duration. The reason why is that any monster that goes near them goes kaboom! Those who survive the blast will suffer from Maim, effectively reducing their evasion rating and movement speed by 15% and 30%, respectively.

So in essence, Spearfield is a skill that damages enemies via an initial hit and then makes them explode like they are in a minefield. This is a good skill for dispatching groups of monsters at once. You just have to be mindful of its mana cost because it increases by a considerable amount at each level.

Since Spearfield is an ability that deals physical damage, here are some of the support gems you can use to amplify its effectiveness:

  • Incision
  • Brutality
  • Martial Tempo
  • Bludgeon
  • Rearm

Rapid Assault

Rapid Assault

The Huntress Skills that have been discussed so far all deal area damage that can wipe out multiple enemies. But, what can you do if you want to deal a considerable amount of damage to a single target? Well, you have the Rapid Assault for that!

Rapid Assault is a skill that allows the Huntress to initiate a series of fast stabs, making quick work of the enemy unfortunate enough to be at the receiving end of her spear. The enemy that is hit by the final stab will suffer from bleeding.

Now, the spearhead is "stuck" in the enemy for a short period. If you use a Detonator skill like Thunderous Leap or Explosive Shot, you will cause that spearhead to explode, dealing damage to enemies in a small radius.

Similar to Whirling Slash, Rapid Assault does not have a specific damage tag, giving you a whole world of possibilities when it comes to the support gems you can use. That said, here are the support gems that may amplify the damage of Rapid Assault to a greater extent:

  • Martial Tempo
  • Rage
  • Cadence
  • Practiced Combo
  • Pinpoint Critical

Twister

Twister

Twister is a projectile skill available to all spear-wielders in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt. When used on its own, you create a Twister that not only blinds enemies but hits them continuously as well.

However, the best way to utilize Twister is to cast it after using Whirling Slash a few times. Doing it this way will unleash more twisters, especially when you activate Barrage beforehand.

Remember the cold-infused Whirlwind that was previously mentioned in this article? Well, any elemental damage type that is infused with the whirlwind will also translate to the resulting twisters. In the same example, you unleash twisters that deal cold damage when you are able to establish a whirlwind while standing on Chilled Ground.

The Ice Twister Amazon was one of the most popular builds in PoE 2 at the start of the Dawn of the Hunt League. However, it is now trumped by the next skill we are going to talk about, which is…

Lightning Spear

Lightning Spear

The Lightning Spear was slow and clunky to use in the first few days of Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt. After several minor updates, though, this skill now destroys everything with heavy lightning damage that can split into multiple nearby enemies!

What makes Lightning Spear special is that the split projectiles convert all of your physical damage to lightning damage. Thus, the best way to develop a build that utilizes the Lightning Spear as its primary skill is to ensure that it has a high physical damage weapon, preferably the Seaglass Spear for its high base crit chance.

Some players even use Conduction support on Lightning Spear to improve its ability to inflict Shock on enemies, particularly those who use Primal Strike for better single-target damage. Anyway, if you are interested in knowing the PoE 2 best support gems for this skill, here they are:

  • Volt
  • Primal Armament
  • Bullseye
  • Perpetual Charge
  • Deliberation or Lightning Infusion

Primal Strikes

Primal Strikes

While Lightning Spear is already a very powerful skill on its own, it only deals mediocre damage on bosses and rare monsters. So, to complement that skill, you can use Primal Strikes as well.

Primal Strikes works a bit similarly to Shockburst Rounds in that the bulk of its damage can only be harnessed when you use the skill on an enemy that is affected by Shock. Since it cannot inflict Shock by itself, you will put Elemental Focus as one of its support gems to boost its damage.

Now, Primal Strikes allows you to initiate a three-hit combo, with each hit having a special property. The first couple of hits summon a Wildwood Spirit that charges forward, dealing damage to the enemy. The final hit allows you to execute a much larger swipe that inflicts Lightning Exposure and conjures a stampede of Wildwood Spirits!

Primal Strikes is a skill that is only necessary when you encounter a much tougher foe. In most cases, hurling the Lightning Spear is enough to eliminate map monsters.

Here are the ideal support gems for Primal Strikes:

  • Crescendo
  • Pursuit
  • Elemental Focus
  • Unsteady Tempo
  • Lightning Penetration

Storm Lance

Storm Lance

There are some spear skills that get empowered when they consume Frenzy Charges. Such is the case with the next skill we are going to talk about—the Storm Lance.

Storm Lance allows you to throw your spear to the ground. Once it is planted, the spear will zap nearby enemies and deal lightning damage based on 100% of your physical damage. However, the interesting part of this skill is that whenever it consumes a Frenzy Charge, it will zap enemies more frequently, and explode after a short duration.

Enemies that still survive the resulting explosion will step on Shocked Ground which was left behind by the detonated skill. This means that any follow-up attack you initiate is going to deal more damage!

If you want to use different support gems other than Conduction on your Lightning Spear, you can rely on Storm Lance (with Conduction) to inflict Shock instead. This elemental ailment should increase the damage of Primal Strikes by a lot!

Are you curious about what support gems you should insert into Storm Lance? Well, we recommend the following:

  • Scattershot
  • Lightning Infusion
  • Overextend
  • Ambrosia
  • Conduction

Rake

Rake

There are only a handful of skills in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt that can inflict bleeding 100% of the time without the aid of some support gems and items. One of them is Rake.

When you use Rake, you dash forward and perform a sweeping strike. Monsters that are hit by the spear swipe will suffer from bleeding damage that persists for a short duration. The farther the distance from your current location to the enemy when using Rake, the more bleeding damage will be dealt in the process.

If you are playing any of the Huntress ascendancy classes in PoE 2, you can allocate "Perfectly Placed Knife" on the passive tree for a chance to aggravate bleeding on hit. "Aggravate," in this context, just means that you are dealing 100% extra damage from bleeding.

In terms of raw power, Rake doesn’t do much unless you specifically prioritize passive nodes that improve bleeding damage and aggravation. For this reason, you want to increase your physical damage as high as possible since bleeding in Path of Exile 2 is an ailment that deals physical damage over time.

Here is a rundown of the best support gems for Rake in PoE 2:

  • Brutality
  • Momentum
  • Heft
  • Deep Cuts
  • Stomping Ground

Blood Hunt

Blood Hunt

If you decide to use Rake for your next Huntress Build in PoE 2, then you might want to add Blood Hunt as well. Blood Hunt is a skill that prompts you to lunge forward, stabbing the enemy, and causing a blood explosion when the target has suffered from bleeding beforehand.

Equipping this skill will allow you to see how much blood the enemy has lost. The reason why there is a visual indicator for that is because Blood Hunt consumes 25% of blood loss from the enemy to scale its physical attack damage.

Take note that Bloodhunt cannot inflict bleeding on its own, so you will have to rely on Rake to apply that physical damage ailment consistently. Furthermore, not being able to inflict bleeding allows you to freely utilize Bloodlust Support to boost the damage of Blood Hunt.

Do you want to use Blood Hunt? If so, put these support gems into it:

  • Overpower
  • Momentum
  • Bloodlust
  • Culmination
  • Heavy Swing

Cull the Weak

Cull the Weak

There are numerous ways to gain Frenzy Charges in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt, especially if you are playing the Huntress. The simplest way is to use this new skill known as Cull the Weak.

Cull the Weak was actually not a part of the original roster of skills for spear users in PoE 2. However, GGG felt the need to add this new skill specifically to address the issue of gaining Frenzy Charges in a much easier way (rather than parrying attacks with a shield).

That said, this skill is akin to the quarterstaff's Killing Palm skill, where you instantly kill enemies that are below a certain life threshold. Normal enemies that are below 30% of their maximum life, for example, will instantly be eliminated when using Cull the Weak.

Anyway, here are the support gems you could use for Cull the Weak:

  • Behead
  • Ancestral Call
  • Soul Drain
  • Execute
  • Heavy Swing

Glacial Lance

Glacial Lance

Another elemental damage spear skill, Glacial Lance is primarily used to freeze enemies at a relatively high rate. When using Glacial Lance, you throw a spear in a straight line that leaves icy fragments in its wake. Enemies that traverse the affected ground are slowed down as a result.

Just like the other spear skills mentioned so far, the Glacial Lance can also consume Frenzy Charges. When it does, the icy fragments that the spear leaves behind will explode outwards, dealing damage to nearby monsters.

As of now, Glacial Lance is mainly used as a means of freezing enemies in their wake. Because of this, you should use the following support gems for this particular skill:

  • Glaciation
  • Cold Infusion
  • Cold Penetration
  • Ice Bite
  • Persistence

Explosive Spear

Explosive Spear

Explosive Spear is an incredibly versatile skill in PoE 2 Patch 0.2.0 that can be used as a primary damage dealer or an ability that complements other skills. If you want to use this to deal damage, you can insert the new Expedite support gem. Expedite lowers the detonation time of Explosive Spear by a considerable amount, making it explode much faster.

On the other hand, you can utilize Explosive Spear as a means of leaving Ignited Ground. This is possible when you generate Frenzy Charges prior to throwing the spear. The Ignited Ground that exists after the explosion can be utilized by Whirling Slash to create a fire-infused whirlwind, which you can then follow up with Twister.

Explosive Spear works best when the following support gems are socketed into it:

  • Expedite
  • Fire Infusion
  • Ignition
  • Overabundance
  • Overpower

Thunderous Leap

Thunderous Leap

Thunderous Leap is both a travel skill and a detonator. You can use Thunderous Leap to jump into the thick of things, allowing you to get close to the enemy for the kill. This is also useful for leaping towards monsters that are separated by a body of water or other obstructions.

In addition, Thunderous Leap detonates other spear skills like Explosive Spear and Rapid Assault, causing their respective explosions to occur immediately upon landing.

If you wish to add this to your roster of skills, utilize the following support gems:

  • Shocking Leap
  • Momentum
  • Martial Tempo
  • Hit and Run
  • Unbreakable

Fangs of Frost

Fangs of Frost

This next skill incentivizes you to use Parry for maximum damage and utility. Fangs of Frost is nothing special. You infuse your spear with ice and stab the enemy nearest you to deal cold damage.

However, something magical happens when you use Fangs of Frost on an enemy that is suffering from the Parried Debuff. Utilizing Fangs of Frost in this instance will cause a frost nova to occur, which not only deals huge amounts of cold damage to nearby enemies but leaves Chilled Ground as well. You can take advantage of the Chilled Ground created by Fangs of Frost to empower the Whirling Slash.

Although it is not a popular skill in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt due to the fact that you have to parry an attack before you can get the maximum value of this skill, Fangs of Frost is incredible if you have a more defensive style of play.

If you choose to utilize this skill regardless of its popularity, then try it out with these support gems empowering its effects:

  • Close Combat
  • Supercritical
  • Ice Bite
  • Cold Infusion
  • Glaciation

Tame Beast

Tame Beast

The Huntress has the power to turn wild beasts into powerful allies thanks to the newly added Tame Beast skill. Tame Beast is actually used just before the beast dies. When done correctly, the tamed beast will be found in the skills panel, ready to be improved by various minion support gems.

Now, you can pretty much tame any rare beast in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt. However, we highly recommend that you make the Quadrilla your companion. Why? The Quadrilla is a fast-moving beast that can quickly demolish any enemy it encounters.

But more importantly, it can possess powerful effects, such as the Haste Aura, Chilled Ground, Ignited Ground, Shocked Ground, and Invulnerability, among others. You will have to defeat multiple Quadrillas until you come across one that has any (or all) of the modifiers that were just mentioned.

In case you are wondering where it can be found, the Quadrilla is a monster that you can come across in the Jungle Ruins, which is the second area you explore in Act 3.

Anyway, the support gems that you will use for your companion are:

  • Meatshield
  • Last Gasp
  • Elemental Army
  • Loyalty

Whirlwind Lance

Whirlwind Lance

Whirlwind Lance is just like Whirling Slash, albeit this one is a projectile attack rather than a melee skill. That said, using Whirlwind Lance prompts you to throw your spear to the ground in a targeted location, causing a whirlwind to appear.

Unlike Whirling Slash, however, Whirlwind Lance collapses when you enter it, knocking back nearby enemies, and damaging them in the process. Hitting the whirlwind with another Whirlwind Lance that is empowered by a Frenzy Charge will cause it to have an additional stage, thus making it bigger and more powerful.

What’s interesting about Whirlwind Lance is that it also interacts with elemental ground effects like Burning Ground, Chilled Ground, and Shock Ground, empowering it with fire, cold, and lightning damage, respectively. You can utilize Twister right after to create elemental twisters that can potentially hit multiple enemies at the same time.

For a Tier XI skill, Whirlwind Lance is pretty underwhelming. So, if you are going to use it for some reason, make sure that it is part of a more damaging combo (like the one that was just explained above).

Anyway, you can put the following support gems into this skill:

  • Magnified Effect
  • Encumbrance
  • Font of Mana
  • Font of Rage
  • Scattershot

Elemental Sundering

Elemental Sundering

This next skill is more of a follow-up attack rather than an opener. Elemental Sundering consumes Freeze, Shock, and Ignite on anything, including enemies, allies, and corpses. Once it does, Elemental Sundering causes an explosion that corresponds to the element that was consumed.

In most cases, you complement this skill with Lightning Spear or Storm Lance to inflict Shock on the enemy. Then, make them explode with a well-placed Elemental Sundering.

If you wish to try the Elemental Sundering skill, you might want to insert the Soul Core of Citaqualotl for that 30% increased damage to elemental attacks. You can buy the Soul Core of Citaqualotl in our PoE 2 Store.

That said, here are the best support gems for Elemental Sundering:

  • Excoriate
  • Elemental Focus
  • Close Combat
  • Pursuit
  • Magnified Effect

Wind Serpent’s Fury

Wind Serpent’s Fury

We feel that this next skill is quite underpowered because it should be dealing more damage than what it’s currently capable of. Wind Serpent’s Fury conjures a gigantic spear that is infused with the power of the serpents. Enemies that are hit with the spear thrust will be knocked back a considerable distance.

Wind Serpent’s Fury is a bit disappointing because it requires you to have Frenzy Charges before you can use it. Thus, this is mainly utilized as a finisher, though its damage is subpar compared to other spear skills. Hence, it’s not really worth the skill slot as of now.

But, don’t let us stop you if you want to experiment with this skill. In case you really want to use it, just put these support gems to improve its damage to a more acceptable level:

  • Longshot
  • Arms Length
  • Punch Through
  • Hourglass
  • Concentrated Effect

Spear of Solaris

Spear of Solaris

The Spear of Solaris is one of the only skills in the game that uses the new Glory Mechanic in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt. Glory is a new resource that can be gained by heavy-stunning enemies.

That said, the Spear of Solaris allows you to call forth a powerful beam from the sky that pulses up to 20 times, causing an Ignited Ground to slowly expand and deal fire damage over time.

Because you cannot spam it, you could put something like Hourglass Support to heavily boost its damage. The added cooldown from the said support gem is fine because you will only be using the Spear of Solaris on tougher enemies anyway.

Having said that, here are the ideal support gems for the Spear of Solaris:

  • Hourglass
  • Fire Infusion
  • Searing Flame
  • Fire Exposure
  • Fire Penetration

Bloodhound’s Mark

If you are wondering how you could heavy-stun enemies effectively by using the Huntress Class in PoE 2, this next skill can help you with that. Bloodhound’s Mark puts a special mark on the enemy that makes it easy for you to heavy-stun them based on the amount of blood they have lost in a short period.

You could leave the mark on the affected target so that a blood explosion will occur when they do get heavy-stunned. If you have accumulated enough Glory from this, you can activate the Spear of Solaris for even more damage!

That said, Bloodhound’s Mark becomes more effective when you insert these support gems into it:

  • Rupture
  • Overpower
  • Single Out
  • Close Combat
  • Armour Explosion

Herald of Blood

There is a new herald skill in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt that you should activate if you are playing a bleed damage Huntress Build. Herald of Blood activates when you kill an enemy that is suffering from Blood Loss (like from bleeding), causing an explosion that is equal to a small percentage of their life. Nearby enemies that are also affected by bleeding will have that ailment aggravated if they have not been killed by the explosion.

It is important to note that normal and magic monsters will have their corpses destroyed because of the explosion. However, rare monsters do not suffer the same fate for some reason, likely so that you can still use Ritual Sacrifice afterward.

There are some awesome support gems tailor-made for Herald of Blood. Here is the rundown:

  • Haemocrystals
  • Magnified Effect
  • Physical Mastery
  • Reach
  • Execute

Barrage

This is the same skill you can find in the Bow Skill Gemcutting interface. Activating Barrage allows you to prepare a volley of spears, thereby making your next projectile attack repeat multiple times.

Barrage, in the current meta, is utilized to unleash a bevy of twisters using the Twister skill. It can also be utilized to empower Storm Lance and Lightning Spear.

You must put the following support gems to truly get the most out of Barrage:

  • Premeditation
  • Perpetual Charge
  • Ingenuity
  • Arcane Tempo
  • Murderous Intent or Inhibitor

Tips

Do you want to play the Huntress Class in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt anytime soon? If so, read these tips before creating a new character:

Focus on Three Skills

There are plenty of skills that the Huntress has access to. However, if you want to maximize their damage potential, and given that you can only use one copy of a support gem at a time, it is best that you only focus on using a few skills.

For example, you could build on Whirling Slash, Twister, and Disengage to defeat any monster that you see on the screen. Or maybe you want to add a projectile component to your PoE 2 Huntress build, so it’s best that you choose between Lightning Spear, Storm Lance, or Explosive Spear.

Enhance Physical Damage

Several of the Huntress’ abilities convert physical damage to another damage type. If you want to capitalize on that, you have to make sure that your innate physical damage is high so that you can maximize your damage output.

That said, physical damage can roll on a few items: the spear, rings, and gloves. On the spear itself, you want “% Increased Physical Damage” and “Adds Physical Damage.” The weapon slot is where you can get the most physical damage out of all your equipment, which is only fitting that you go for the aforementioned modifiers.

On the gloves and rings, go for “Physical Damage to Attacks” and another damage type depending on the skill that you want to use. So, if you intend to utilize Lightning Spear as your primary damaging ability, you can have “Adds Lightning Damage to Attacks.”

We highly recommend mirror-tier Breach Rings because you can increase their quality to 50%, thus massively boosting their damage modifiers.

Try Bleed Damage

Rake and Blood Hunt really work well together. The former can consistently apply bleeding to enemies. The latter, on the other hand, can make bleeding enemies explode, dealing physical damage in an area.

Although Lightning Spear and Twister are all the rage these days when it comes to PoE 2 Huntress Builds, skills that apply and take advantage of bleeding should not be ignored. They are very powerful when built correctly.

Equip a Sceptre

When you look at the spear in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt, you might assume that it is a two-handed weapon but it’s actually not. In fact, it is just a one-handed weapon, which is why you can equip a shield in the off-hand.

The reason why the Huntress equips a shield by default is so that she can parry incoming attacks. However, parrying in the game right now feels clunky and unrewarding, especially since enemies can jump and swarm you, rendering this mechanic useless. Fortunately, you can completely forgo the shield in favor of a sceptre.

Why equip a sceptre, you ask? The sceptre is a weapon that provides you with a hefty amount of Spirit. You could use this additional Spirit to summon a Rhoa Mount, tame more beasts, or activate more buffs.

Additionally, the Sceptre enables you to utilize a meta-skill, such as Cast on Critical. You could automate the process of applying Sniper’s Mark by putting the said mark skill into Cast on Critical. If you are unaware, Cast on Critical is an expensive meta-skill that requires 100 Spirit to activate.

Now, if you are looking for a mirror-tier Sceptre that has all of the goods, you can find one in our PoE 2 Store.

Improve Your Accuracy

A Huntress Build in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt, specifically one that chooses the Amazon ascendancy class, can greatly benefit from a high accuracy rating. That is because of the Amazon’s “Critical Strike” node, which increases critical hit chance significantly based on 25% of your excess accuracy (aka “Chance to Hit with Attacks”).

You can raise your accuracy in a number of ways. For instance, there are a bunch of accuracy nodes on the passive tree, such as Eagle Eye, Precision Salvo, Near Sighted, and Falcon Dive, among many others.

In addition, you could invest in certain pieces of gear with accuracy modifiers on them. Accuracy mods can roll on the weapon, rings, amulet, helmet, and gloves.

Final Thoughts

And there you have it! The Huntress is a new and exciting addition to Path of Exile 2. She incentivizes those who play the game with a more hybrid playstyle; able to switch between melee and ranged attacks on the fly to maximize damage output.

Her default skills truly embody that philosophy. Whirling Slash and Twister can help you breeze through the campaign. Once you unlock Lightning Spear and Primal Strikes, then everything will be smooth sailing from there.

Some of her skills do need a bit more fine-tuning. For instance, Wind Serpent’s Fury should have its damage boosted significantly. After all, it consumes all Frenzy Charges that you have to enhance its knockback capabilities.

Spear of Solaris should use a different mechanic entirely because gaining Glory is only consistent when you utilize Bloodhound’s Mark as well.

It is important to note that despite the many damage types of her skills, the Huntress can greatly benefit from weapons that improve physical damage and accuracy. Don’t worry, our PoE 2 Store is always open to serve you! If you need anything, such as rare items, currencies, and uniques, feel free to visit our shop at any time!

With all of that said, what can you say about the Huntress Class in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt? Let us know in the comments!
