Diablo 4 , Game Guides

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred promises two new classes. The first one, the Paladin, is already available in the game if you pre-order the second expansion. At the reveal trailer, there’s still another class that was shrouded in mystery. But now, we finally know what the second class for Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred actually is!
Let’s just say that the new class can command demons and cast dark magic, which is a first of its kind in the franchise. If you want to learn what this new class is, then come and join me as we unravel the mystery behind it!
What is the New Class in D4: Lord of Hatred?

As you can see in the image, there is a mystery class just behind the Paladin when the Lord of Hatred expansion was first revealed. Many have speculated it to be the Amazon, especially since the new region of the game (the Skovos Isles) is home to the said vixen. However, the new class is actually entirely new. Of course, I am talking about the Warlock!
The Warlock is a fresh class in Diablo 4 who has the power to manipulate demons to do their bidding. When the demons are not powerful enough to defeat the minions of Hell, the Warlock can cast dark magic to obliterate the forces of evil.
Just like other Diablo 4 classes, the Warlock has specializations of its own. Here is a brief rundown:
- Legion: Summon demonic legions to overwhelm your enemies and unleash chaos. Exploiting their deaths to fuel an unending onslaught.
- Vanguard: Ride into battle atop a hellhound, transforming into a demon, and bringing fiery destruction as the spearhead of a demonic force.
- Mastermind: Bind foes and demons to your will, filling the battlefield with terror from within a cloak of abyssal shadows.
- Ritualist: Empower hellfire and abyss rituals with demonic energy to bring calamity and explode your enemies.
By the looks of it, the Legion specialization turns the Warlock into a minion commander. Those who want to play another minion class in the game (that is not named the Necromancer) will definitely love what the Warlock has to offer.
Having said that, the major difference between the Warlock and the Necromancer is that the former can summon or control demons, while the latter can raise the undead. In Diablo 4, those are two completely distinct types of monsters.
How about the Vanguard? This particular specialization seems to enable the Warlock to control a massive hellhound. It also looks like this gives the Warlock the ability to transform into a powerful demon at will. With the Vanguard, you can mimic Astaroth riding a formidable beast while slaying whatever Hell throws at you!
The Mastermind is more of a manipulator. Instead of summoning demons, this Warlock specialization may provide this class with a means of controlling demons on the battlefield. If this is the case, the Warlock can do something about those pesky Pit Lords in the endgame.
Lastly, the Ritualist is the caster archetype of the Warlock. When the demons are no longer cutting it, the Warlock can use dark magic to destroy their foes. The Warlock rains hellfire upon the minions of Hell while also being able to cast abyss rituals to curse them, making them weaker in the process.
According to the developers, more will be revealed on March 5, which is just several days before the launch of Season 12. Be sure to stay tuned here in RPGStash to learn any new details about the Warlock Class and the upcoming season!

Diablo 4 Community Reactions and Speculations
The community sentiments regarding the Warlock Class reveal for Diablo 4 are generally positive, with many praising Blizzard for releasing an entirely new class in the franchise. The Warlock is also a nice contrast to the Paladin, so it seems that the company was gunning for that Light and Dark theme for the Lord of Hatred expansion.
Aside from that, the Warlock is likely going to showcase the full extent of the skill tree rework in Diablo 4. In case you don’t know, the skill tree will get a major overhaul in Diablo 4: Lord of Expansion. One of the things that you can expect is that each skill will get augments that allow you to modify how that skill performs.
For the Warlock, that could mean that it can summon DPS demons that deal massive amounts of damage or tanks that will soak up damage, thus protecting the Warlock from the forces of evil.
Another prediction that many players think about is that the Warlock may have abilities that summon persistent demons, and another set of skills that call forth demons that only do one thing (and then disappear). If this is true, the Warlock is going to be a bit similar to the Witch Doctor, which is a class available in Diablo III that can control zombified pets and cast curses.
Remember that Vanguard Warlock specialization I mentioned earlier? It seems that the community collectively agrees that the Warlock can also turn into a demon, complete with a different set of skills after the transformation. If this is going to be the case, I hope to see the Warlock having very destructive spells to warrant the use of the Vanguard Specialization.
Now, every class in the game can wield the best D4 items in the offhand. For the Paladin, that would be a shield. For the Sorcerer, a caster focus. How about the Warlock? Since the new class has the ability to utilize dark magic, it is possible that the Warlock wields either a tome or a sigil in the offhand. Ideally, the tome or sigil must have plus skill levels on certain abilities to make them worth equipping, but that remains to be seen when Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred launches in April this year.
Other New Features Mentioned in the February Reveal
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is shaping up to be one of the best expansions in the franchise. Why did I make that assumption? This is because here is what you can expect:
- Horadric Cube: The classic arcane tool of the Horadrim, the Horadric Cube returns in Diablo 4! This new tool lets you combine certain things, which makes early- and end-game progression more seamless and worthwhile.
- War Plans: Tired of the boring endgame? The War Plans shake things up by making your favorite endgame activities more rewarding than ever.
- Echoing Hatred: A new endgame activity where you can slay as many minions of Hell as you can. Don’t sleep on this new activity, though, because the difficulty gradually increases, making things a lot harder than initially thought.
- Loot Filter: A long-requested feature since the launch of the game, Diablo 4 will finally have a built-in loot filter. Gone are the days when you have to see a bunch of useless stuff on the ground.
- Skill Rework: The skill tree will get a much-needed rework, allowing for full customization and increasing build diversity. Want a Sorcerer that can summon freezing hydras? That’s definitely possible!
- Talismans: A new way to introduce set bonuses into the game. With Mephisto’s impending comeback, you need every bit of power up that you can get. The Talismans can help you with that.
