There are so many things to do in the game right now and you might've skipped out on a few simpler ones as well. One task that you might've overlooked wants you to read a prayer book in a lectern.

This is a simple task but if you haven't been paying attention to your Skills and to the world in OSRS, you might not know what to do.

What Are Lecterns?

A lectern is a specific type of furniture that you can place in your house. For this task, you don't need to read the prayer book in a lectern in your own house. It can be in the house of another player or in some other lectern in the world in case you find one. It's often easier to just make a lectern of your own and read from there.

Where To Get The Prayer Book?

The prayer book becomes available as a reward upon completing The Great Brain Robbery quest. When you right-click on it while wearing the holy or hallowed symbol, you can utilize Prayer to cure poison, albeit at the expense of some prayer points. This functionality can also be accessed by clicking the hitpoints orb, although potions will take precedence. Be aware that if you run out of prayer points, the poison may only be partially cured.

In the event of loss, you can reclaim the prayer book at the Edgeville Monastery on the 1st floor, situated on the south-western bookshelf. Additionally, it can be found in a player-owned house on the bookcase under the title "Prayer of Deliverance from Poisons."

Despite having a 'destroy' option, obtaining more than one copy is feasible. Simply keep the book in your bank while acquiring a new one from your player-owned house bookcase.

It's crucial to note that the prayer book is always lost upon death.

Once you have a prayer book, all you need to do is head to any lectern and read it from there. Since you only need to do this task once, you'll immediately get 10 points upon completing the action. The hard part is getting the prayer book itself as you'll need to finish The Great Brain Robbery quest to get it.
