Insight is a strong mercenary weapon that is mainly used by casters. It provides a strong Meditation Aura that takes care of any mana problems your character might have. A level 17 Meditation Aura provides +700% mana recovery rate. In Diablo II, the rate of mana regeneration is a function of this enhanced recovery rate and your character’s max mana. Mana regeneration per second equals:

( Max Mana / 120) x (100 + Mana Regeneration Bonus) / 100

In other words, without any extra sources of mana regeneration, your mana orb will naturally fill up in 120 seconds. Adding 700% enhanced regeneration makes the regen rate eight times faster and your orb will go from 0% to 100% in just 15 seconds. Insight provides far more mana regeneration than any other item, so if you are using one, it is better to focus on increasing your max mana via other gear rather than stacking more regeneration.
