OSRS Initiate Pure Guide

5895 0

If you’re done with maxing out your main account, then it might be time to consider creating another build for specific purposes. This time, we’re going to teach you how to create an OSRS Initiate Pure which is good for PvP. It’s also a good introduction to creating specific builds in the game because it’s easy to make.

Due to the way the combat levels are, this build is also called as the 20 Defense Pure but for the purpose of this guide, we’re calling it the Initiate Pure.

What Is An OSRS Initiate Pure?

Like many other builds in the game, the Initiate Pure is solely reliant on keeping your Combat Stats to a minimum, while letting other stats max out. As the name itself suggests, an Initiate Pure centers on using the Initiate armor set which requires 20 Defense to wear. Just to give you an idea of what a build like this will look like, here’s a break down of the recommended combat stats.

  • 50 Attack

  • 99 Strength

  • 20 Defense

  • 94+ Magic

  • 96+ Range

  • 54 Prayer

With stats like this, you’ll have a combat level of 84 which is very low. This is going to be advantageous to you because you’ll be facing off relatively weaker opponents who you have a high chance of killing.
Again, the stats above aren’t set in stone. What’s important is that you keep your Defense to 20 just so you have enough to use the Initiate’s Set. You can alter your other stats as much as you want, but the levels above are optimal for PvP.

Initiate Pure Advantages

1. Balanced Combat Stats

  • Moderate Defense: Initiate Pures with level 20 Defense can equip themselves with Initiate armor, which lowers combat level while offering respectable defense advantages. Compared to level 1 Defense pures, they can withstand more attacks thanks to this balancing.

  • High Offensive Potential: Initiate Pures can deal huge damage by concentrating on having high Strength and Attack. Because of this, they work well in PvP and PvM situations when getting quick kills is crucial.

2. Initiate Armor Benefits

  • Prayer Bonus: The Prayer bonus that initiate armor provides can be quite helpful in both PvP and PvM. With this benefit, the duration of both offensive and defensive prayers is increased, raising the combat effectiveness of the Inititate Pure.

  • Defensive Edge: Initiate Pures can absorb more damage and hold out longer in battles because of Initiate armor, which offers better defensive stats than neither basic gear nor no armor. However, it is not as robust as higher-level armor.

3. PvP Advantages

  • Lower Combat Level: With a Defense cap of 20, Inititate Pures are able to retain a lower combat level. This frequently enables them to battle with opponents who have lower overall stats while still possessing strong offensive power.

  • Versatility in PvP: Initiate Pures are highly adaptable in PvP due to their powerful offensive and decent defense. They are able to efficiently adjust to a variety of opponents and situations by switching between offensive and defensive strategies.

4. PvM Capabilities

  • Sustainability: In PvM, Initiate Pures can survive longer during boss battles or extended monster grinding sessions thanks to the defensive and prayer boosts from initiate armor. As a result, less continual food and prayer restoration is required.

  • Effective Training: As their level 20 Defense lessens the damage they suffer, Initiate Pures can train efficiently at a variety of PvM locations. They can swiftly beat monsters with their high Strength and Attack.

Initiate Pure Disadvantages

1. Limited Armor Choices

  • Restricted to Initiate Armor: The only defense available to Initiate Pures is initiate armor. They are unable to obtain higher-level armors that provide more benefits and protection due to this restriction, which can be detrimental in more difficult PvP or PvM situations.

  • Inferior to Higher Defense Builds: Higher defense players are more resilient in extended battles and harder to hit because they can equip better armor and have higher overall defense stats.

2. Training Challenges

  • Balanced Training: To maximize Strength and Attack and maintain Defense level at 20, Initiate Pure training calls for a well-rounded strategy. This can be difficult and time-consuming, particularly if you are not familiar with pure builds.

  • Cost of Training: Aside from good food and potions, effective training sometimes necessitates specialized gear. The procedure of creating an Initiate Pure might be costly due to the cumulative cost of these items.

3. PvP Vulnerabilities

  • Lack of High Defense: Even if Initiate Pures are superior to level 1 Defense Pures, their defense still needs to be stronger. In PvP, opponents with more powerful gear or higher Defense can easily overcome them.

  • Targeted by Higher Levels: If you have greater combat levels and better equipment, it is possible to target Initiate Pures. This can make it difficult to survive in PvP worlds or the Wilderness.

4. PvM Limitations

  • Specific Bosses: Initiate Pures may find it difficult to defeat bosses or monsters who need more defense or specialized gear that isn’t available to those with level 20 Defense. Because of this, they are less effective in some high-level PvM content.

  • Sustainability Issues: Although it comes with Prayer advantages, the initiate armor is not as sustainable as higher-tier armors. Initiate Pures could have to depend more on consumables to stay competitive over extended PvM sessions.

5. Skill Ceiling and Playstyle

  • High Skill Requirement: It takes a solid grasp of OSRS combat mechanics, gear switching, and prayer management to play an Initiate Pure effectively. This makes it a difficult build for those with less expertise.

  • Limited Playstyle: The playstyle may feel constrained because of the emphasis on using Initiate armor and keeping level 20 Defense. If you love experimenting with various weapons and combat styles, you may find the Initiate Pure build to be too restrictive.

Initiate Pure Training

Training an Initiate Pure isn’t particularly hard. Since you can train most of your combat skills, there aren’t a lot of restrictions to be made. However, since you’ll have a low Defense level, you generally want to avoid enemies that hit hard. Aside from that, look for ones with high health and high defence. Below are a list of good monsters to train against and where you can find them.

Where To Get An Initiate Set

You can buy the Initiate Set from Sir Tiffy Cashien but it will set you back 20,000 coins which is a bit manageable but still costly in the early game. You can purchase each piece individually as you like but you’re going to spend 24,000 coins more by doing this so it’s best to just save up for the entire set.

You can get an Initiate Sallet or the headpiece by doing Recruitment Drive. However, buying the entire set is still surprisingly cheaper rather than doing this method. Once you reach the Defense 20 requirement, we highly suggest you get this gear as soon as possible.

Tips For Using An Initiate Pure

  1. Understanding Your Build

Strengths: Inititate Pures are excellent in PvP because of their balanced combat stats, which prioritize high Strength and Attack while keeping level 20 Defense for Inititate armor. This setup provides strong offensive strength together with respectable defense capabilities.

The goal of Inititate Pures is to balance their attacking and defensive skills. These builds have a Defense cap of 20, allowing them to wear initiate armor, which boosts Defense without raising combat level noticeably.

Maximizing Strength and Attack is the primary goal, enabling Inititate Pures to deal strong hits that can easily overwhelm opponents. By extending the duration of combat prayers, the Prayer benefit from initiate armor improves both offense and defense during combat. Compared to level 1 Defense Pures, Inititate Pures are more versatile and formidable in PvP, dealing substantial damage while sustaining longer in battle.

Weaknesses: Vulnerabilities include a reduced defense in comparison to builds at a higher level and a restricted selection of armor, which limits the gear elections available for varying combat situations.

Even with their balanced approach, Initiate Pures have certain glaring flaws. The level 20 Defense cap restricts their options for armor, limiting them to Inititate gear and denying them access to more protective, higher-level gear.

As a result, they are more susceptible to damage against powerful opponents with better defensive stats. Pures can also still take a lot of damage because of their decreased protection, particularly from opponents that have strong special attacks or excellent precision. Because of this weakness, Initiate Pures must mostly rely on strategic play, fast thinking, and effective resource management to maintain their competitive edge in PvP matches.

  1. Choosing Your Equipment

Armor: Get the Prayer boost and moderate defense by donning full Initiate armor. The entire helm, platebody, and legs are included in this.

For this build, Initiate Armor is essential because of its balance of defensive and Prayer bonuses. The set contains the platebody, platelegs, and initiate helm, all of which increase your Prayer points and offer just moderate defensive stats. You can sustain offensive and defensive prayers for a longer period of time during conflicts because to this armor's ability to prolong the duration of your combat prayers. Prolonged battles greatly benefit from the prayer boost since it allows you to preserve Prayer potions and keep te upper hand tactically.

Weapon: For fast and potent attacks, choose high-strength weapons like the Granite Maul or Dragon Scimitar.

Selecting the right weapon is essential to optimizing an Initiate Pure's damage output. Because of its strong Strength boost and quick attack speed, the Dragon Scimitar is a well-liked option for dealing heavy damage during battle.

Another great choice is the Granite Maul, which is renowned for its powerful special attack that can provide rapid, high-damage attacks and maybe eliminate opponents before they can respond. You can adjust to various combat situations by switching between burst and sustained damage as needed if you have a selection of weapons.

Amulet: Amulets that improve offensive powers are the Amulet of Glory and the Amulet of Strength.

Your Strength is greatly increased by the Amulet of Strength, raising your capability for maximum hits. It is therefore the best option to maximize your damage output in PvP. Even while the Amulet of Glory has a little less Strength increase, it still has other advantages like improved accuracy and the ease of teleportation charges, which let you quickly move or escape. The best amulet to use depends on your combat style and whether you value utility or sheer damage.

Rings: If you want more damage, think about using recoil rings or rings like the Ring of Wealth for better drops.

If you also participate in PvM or hybrid activities, the Ring of Wealth can help improve your loot drops. Recoil rings, like the Ring of Recoil, can, nevertheless, deal passive damage to your opponent with each hit you absorb in pure PvP situations.

The cumulative recoil damage from this can be very helpful in close combat, since it can swing the balance in your favor. You can gain an advantage in strategy by knowing when to employ each type of ring depending on the circumstances.

Inventory: Carry Prayer potions for sustainability, high-healing food, and emergency teleportation items like an Escape Tab or a charged Amulet of Glory.

Effective inventory management is essential to the PvP success of an Initiate Pure. Sharks are a high-healing snack that guarantees you can heal rapidly after a fierce battle. In order to keep your prayer bonuses during long encounters and to continue using both your offensive and defensive prayers, prayer potions are necessary.

If the battle turns against you, emergency teleportation tools like Escape Tabs or a charged Amulet of Glory offer a swift way out. Having a fully stocked inventory and being ready can mean the difference between success and failure.

  1. Combat Strategies

Preparation: To increase your Attack and Strength levels before participating in PvP, engage offensive prayers such as Incredible Reflexes or Ultimate Strength. Defensive prayers like Protect from Melee might offer vital defense.

In order to be as effective as possible in PvP, preparation is essential. Turn on your fight prayers to improve your stats before you engage an opponent. You can hit harder and more accurately with offensive prayers like Ultimate Strength and Incredible Reflexes, which greatly increase your Attack and Strength.

You can gain the upper hand in prolonged battles by using defensive prayers like Protect from Melee, which can lessen incoming damage. Keeping control during combat requires knowing when to switch between offensive and defensive prayers and effectively managing your prayer points.

Engagement: To increase your chances of winning, look for opponents that are in your combat level range. When used against opponents who have a lower Defense or are ill-prepared for their high damage output, initiate pures can be very successful.

Selecting opponents that fall within your combat level range improves your chances of winning. Since your high damage output can easily overwhelm opponents with inferior Defense, initiate pures are especially effective against them. Selecting fights that have a higher chance of success can be aided by observing possible targets and evaluating their equipment and combat level. Taking on opponents who are ill-prepared or whose numbers are out of sync can greatly benefit you.

Switching Tactics: Be ready to change your tactics from offensive to defensive in response to your opponent's tactics. Use hit-and-run strategies, switching gear, and prayers to throw your opponents off-balance.

In PvP, flexibility is crucial. In response to your opponent's movements, be prepared to shift between offensive and defensive strategies. Press the attack with aggressive gear and prayer switches if your opponent is retreating.

On the other hand, if they are exerting a lot of pressure, go to defensive prayers and employ hit-and-run strategies to get away and regroup. Your chances of winning can be increased by being able to quickly adjust to shifting combat dynamics and throw your opponent off guard.

Managing Prayer: Make good use of your prayer points. Throughout the battle, keep a close eye on your prayer levels and replenish them with prayer potions as necessary to keep up your offensive or defensive prayers.

Managing your prayers well is essential to maintaining your advantages in battle. Keep a close eye on your prayer levels and use prayer potions to replenish them as needed. Sustaining offensive prayers increases the amount of damage you can do, while defensive prayers can lessen enemy damage and increase your chances of surviving.

In PvP battles, knowing when to switch prayers based on the flow of the fight and how to balance the usage of your prayer points can provide you a substantial advantage.

Hybrid Combat: To catch opponents off guard, practice switching between different attack techniques (such as melee annd ranged). This adaptability may offer you a competitive advantage in erratic PvP matches.

In hybrid combat, you can take advantage of your opponent’s weaknesses by switching between different attack styles. By employing melee and ranged attacks, as well as practicing gear switching, you can surprise opponents and keep them from figuring out your plan.

For instance, breaking their rhythm by launching a strong melee attack first and then transitioning to a ranged attack can provide opportunities for more damage. Gaining proficiency in hybrid combat tactics gives your fighting style an unpredictable element that makes it more difficult for opponents to counterattack.

  1. Tactical Considerations

Location Awareness: In PvP locations such as the Wilderness, be aware of your surroundings. Control the flow of combat by taking advantage of terrain features and obstacles such as hiding places or chokepoints.

Gaining a tactical edge in PvP situations requires an understanding of and ability to use the environment. Gaining a tactical edge in PvP situations requires an understanding of and ability to use the environment. For example, the terrain features found in the Wilderness, such as trees, rocks, and narrow pathways, can be tactically employed. Utilize these tools to manipulate the course of the battle, such as drawing opponents into chokepoints where you may exert more control over the exchange. You can also prevent ambushes and get out of dangerous situations by being aware of possible hiding places and escape routes.

Risk vs. Reward: Based on their combat level, equipment, and possible loot, determine the danger of confronting opponents. PvP engagements can take many unforeseen turns, so you should always be ready for the worst.

Every PvP encounter includes weighing the potential benefits against the risks. Take into account the equipment, combat level, and possible loot that your opponent may drop. Although it can be risky to engage opponents with greater gear at a higher level, the rewards can be significant.

On the other hand, going for lower-level players offers a safer opportunity but can result in less lucrative loot. Always be ready for the unexpected, as PvP can be unpredictable due to other players interfering or your opponent using unexpected strategies.

Escape Plans: Plan your escape in case the battle goes against you. To avoid being pursued and regroup, use teleportation tools or spells such as the Teleport Block spell.

To survive in PvP, you must have a strategy of escape. Amulet of Glory and Escape Tabs are two examples of teleportation items that should always be carried around. If things go south, these can let you get out quickly so you can regroup and avoid being pursued. A quick and calculated withdrawal can also be made when needed by being aware of the terrain and possible escape routes in PvP areas. Make sure you have a plan for your escape in case things get too risky by planning ahead.
