Where To Find Lizardman Shaman

osrs_lizardman_shaman_guide_img1

In the western region of Lizardman Canyon, three shamans inhabit a multi-combat area. Shayzien soldiers are preoccupied with lizardmen elsewhere, and neither party attacks the other. To gauge the current activity in the western canyon, players can speak to the wounded soldier located just south of the broken crossbow.

Caution is advised, as engaging with more than one shaman simultaneously can lead to swift and overwhelming damage from their abilities. To minimize interference from nearby lizardmen and their brute forms, it is recommended to eliminate those in the north and south-west corners.

Using Xeric's Talisman:

  1. Teleport to Xeric's Inferno using Xeric's talisman.
  2. Traverse south through Lovakengj until you reach a point near giant bats and a house with a water source.
  3. Head slightly west from this location to encounter patrolling Kourend guards.
  4. Proceed south into the canyon and descend the handholds to the west.

Using Fairy Rings:

Partial completion of Fairytale II - Cure a Queen is necessary for fairy ring usage.

  1. Locate the fairy ring with the code djr, situated just south of Lizardman Canyon.

In Lizardman Caves:

Eight shamans are found within a cave at the northern end of the Lizardman Settlement, exclusive to those on a lizardman Slayer task. Cannon use is prohibited in this area.

Using Xeric's Talisman:

  1. Teleport to Xeric's Honour using Xeric's talisman.
  2. Head southeast to the Mountain Guide and travel to Shayzien's Wall.
  3. Proceed west, passing lizardman brutes, until you reach the Lizardman Caves. Xeric's Shrine is located northward, beyond the bridge.

Using Fairy Rings:

Partial completion of Fairytale II - Cure a Queen is required for fairy ring usage.

  1. Utilize the fairy ring with the code cir.
  2. Run south past the farming guild.
  3. Cross the bridge, guarded by Shayzien soldiers, to reach the Lizardman Caves. Xeric's Shrine is located northward, past the bridge.

Recommendations

  • Attack 80+
  • Strength 80+
  • Defence 20+ (60+ Recommended)
  • Ranged 60+
  • Prayer 40+ (43+ Recommended)

Opting for Ranged is the preferred approach for better maneuverability when dealing with Lizardman shamans, although Melee is a viable alternative. These creatures exhibit weaknesses to both combat styles, particularly having negative stab defense and lacking ranged defense bonuses. Slash, crush, and magical attacks are discouraged due to their elevated defensive capabilities against those styles.

For those engaged in the task of eliminating lizardman shamans, completing the hard Kourend & Kebos Diary is strongly advised. This completion allows the addition of the Shayzien armor effect to the Slayer helmet via Captain Cleive. Without diary completion, wearing the Slayer helmet exposes you to damage from the acid spit attack, which can accumulate substantial damage over time.

In the absence of diary completion, it is advisable to don the Shayzien helm (5) regardless of your combat class.

Lizardman Shaman Attack Pattern

Lizardman shamans employ various attacks during encounters:

1. Melee Attack:

  • Standard melee attack with the same animation as other lizardmen.

2. Ranged Attack:

  • Standard ranged attack shared with other lizardmen, capable of inflicting poison.

3. Special Attacks:

a. Acid Spit:

- The shaman hurls a sizable ball of acid at the player's current location, causing unblockable poison damage of up to 30. The damage is reduced when wearing a complete set of Shayzien armor, obtained by confronting soldiers in the Combat Ring. Wearing the full tier 5 Shayzien set nullifies all damage from this attack, though poisoning can still occur.

b. Jump:

- The shaman leaps into the air and crashes down at the player's location upon landing. This can be avoided by moving out of the way. If the player is stomped, substantial unblockable damage is incurred.

c. Spawns:

- The shaman summons three spawns - two adjacent to the player and one beneath the player. The spawned minions follow the player, exploding after a few seconds. The explosion deals 8-10 damage to players within two spaces of it. The minion beneath the player always explodes first.

Additional Information:

  • Lizardman shamans possess an attack range of 8. Long-range weapons such as longbows, composite bows, the crystal bow, and the Bow of faerdhinen can outdistance them on rapid. Shortbows, crossbows, and Karil's crossbow can outrange them on long range.
