OSRS Revenant Farming Guide

50836 0

The Wilderness is scary enough already with all the player-killers and bosses inside of it. On your journey, however, you'll eventually come across Revenants. These are ghost versions of the monsters that were killed during the God Wars. While their combat level isn't that daunting, the Revenants are still dangerous - capable of dealing high damage.

These ghosts are loved because of their generous drops, which include the acclaimed Wilderness Weapons. This in-depth guide tells you everything you need to know about the Revenants.

Where To Find OSRS Revenants

osrs_revenant_guide_1

You can find Revenants within the Wilderness Area, particularly, inside the Revenant Caves. This is a high-risk cave that can only be accessed by P2P players. There are three entrances with various combat levels: level 17, 27, and 40. To make your journey easier, we suggest going to lower-leveled entrances. This will let you save your potions and food for the fight ahead.

There are multiple options to get to the caves other than walking. These are easier as they are less risky:

  1. Revenant Cave Teleport - Drops you at the level 40 entrance.
  2. Burning Amulet - Takes you to Bandit Camp or Lava Maze. From there, head east to get to the level 17 and level 40 entrances respectively.
  3. Wilderness Obelisks - Takes you to level 27 obelisk which is near the level 26 entrance. Alternatively, you can go to the level 35 obelisk and then head northeast for the level 40 entrance.

  1. Carallanger Teleport - Near the Graveyard of Shadows, which is near the level 17 entrance.
  2. Canoeing - Use a canoe in the Wilderness to reach the level 40 entrance.

Are Revenants Worth Fighting?

Revenants are a great source of money because of their generous drops. However, the most common reason why players farm these enemies is because of the Wilderness Weapons.

These include:

  • Craw's bow
  • Thammaron's sceptre
  • Viggora's chainmace

These weapons are particularly strong against Wilderness monsters when they're charged with revenant ether.

OSRS Revenant Strategy

Getting to the Revenants is a challenge in itself. Make sure that your route is as optimised as possible and avoid any fights.

osrs_revenant_guide_4

One of the most annoying mechanic of Revenants is their ability to heal themselves whenever their HP drops to below 50%. The good news is that their healing is limited so you'll eventually kill them. As this is a battle of attrition, it pays well to bring a good set of armor for high defense.

Just keep in mind that Revenants can use all combat types. It's best to bring defensive prayers for areas that you're lacking in.

As a general rule of thumb, it's to always be the first to initiate the fight. This helps you land more strikes on the Revenant. Make sure to keep your distance and pick your targets well so that you don't get overwhelmed.

Revenants have better drops and drop rates the higher level they are. It is more risky to kill higher level revenants but it might be worth the risk. Here are the best revenants to kill in terms of drops:

  • Dragon
  • Knight
  • Dark beast
  • Ork

There is also a boss variant of revenants which spawns regularly, when it spawns on a world you will see an arrow pointing at its location. This monster guarantees an emblem drop which is worth at least 500k. Furthermore if you kill this revenant while having an amulet of avarice equipped, you will receive a blue skull and your damage and accuracy against revenants will be further increased. You can also kill a person that has this skull to take it from them.

If you are just starting out and this is all very confusing and overwhelming for you, here is a beginners guide to killing revenants albeit a slow method but safe!

osrs_revenant_guide_5

Revenants are easy enough to kill but the real trick is avoiding PKers. To do this here is a simple guideline:

  • Make sure to have a looting bag to store your items, this will allow you to have more supplies.
  • Make sure to bring a 4-dose stamina potion, good amount of brews and restores and at least 2 anglerfish to combo eat if necessary. You can also bring 1-2 phoenix necklaces to avoid dying.
  • Make sure to have 89 or 75 Agility to utilise the shortcuts.
  • Bring a Dinh’s bulwark for tanking.
  • Make sure to get your prayers correctly, and hit back the PKer as much as possible. This will reduce their DPS.
  • If you know what you are doing you can bring a 3 way mage switch to freeze them. After freezing them you can walk under them to log off our walk around a corner to log off. Be careful since your freeze effect will disappear if you move too far away from your target.
  • Bank frequently.
  • If you know what you are doing you can bring vengeance and a k.o weapon with rings of recoil to catch a PKer off guard to kill them. To do this you must time your vengeance and K.O weapons hit perfectly to stack damage.
  • Lastly, If you are near the deep entrance of the cave you can simply go up and head to the multi-combat area nearby. This is a risky play but most PKers will assume that you have a clan and you are just baiting so they will stop chasing you.

If you are confused and still can't escape PKers, you can check out this simple video to learn what to do!

Enjoy killing revenants and making bank!
