In the first part of our new unique items for Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids article, I only highlighted four different uniques. This is because information was sparse at the time. Fortunately, the Last of the Druids expansion is in full swing, so I am ready to talk about the other unique items introduced in Patch 0.4.0.

Most of the new unique items can be obtained by defeating Atziri in the Vaal Ruins. Yes, I know, it is a bit frustrating and time-consuming to have to farm these new uniques yourself. If you want to save time, you can purchase PoE 2 items in our RPGStash Store at any time!

Atziri’s Splendour

Atziri’s Splendour is truly a remarkable new unique item in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. This unique body armor has six slots, which already sets it apart from 99% of the body armors in the game (well, except the Morior Invictus). Besides that, it has a standout feature, where you can use soul cores that are meant for another gear slot, and socket them directly into this item.

For example, Tzamoto’s Soul Core of Ferocity is an endgame soul core that raises your maximum Rage by four points. While its effect is quite good, you can only insert it into helmets. Well, that is all about to change with Atziri’s Splendour.

Theoretically, you can put up to six Tzamoto’s Soul Cores of Ferocity into Atziri’s Splendour, provided that you have the currency for that.

Now, depending on the soul core you want to use, you must get Atziri’s Splendour with the right modifier for it to work. So, if you are going to utilize soul cores specifically for the gloves (like the Soul Core of Puhuarte and Soul Core of Azcapa), then the specific Atziri’s Splendour that you purchase should have the line: “This item gains bonuses from socketed soul cores as though it were also gloves.”

Atziri’s Step

Deflection is a good defensive layer for DEX-based builds in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. Upon successful deflection, you prevent 40% of the damage from those hits, which significantly helps you survive in the much tougher content (like the Vaal Ruins).

Having said that, Atziri’s Step allows you to take advantage of your high evasion rating by providing you with a good increase in deflection rating as well. Atziri’s Step also has the added benefit of making you immune to "light stuns" from deflected hits.

Now, I have seen some crazy stuff with Atziri’s Step, particularly those that have been double-corrupted by the Vaal Cultivation Orb. If you are lucky with the corruption process, you might get the mod, "25% Increased Deflection Rating While Moving."

If you choose the Druid’s Shaman ascendancy class, you can even take things up a notch. When you allocate "Wisdom of the Maji," socketing Farrul’s Rune of Grace into Atziri’s Step allows you to prevent an additional 3% of damage from deflected hits!

Atziri’s Contempt

This next new unique item in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids is perfect for spear-wielding builds, such as the Lightning Spear Amazon and Whirling Slash Ritualist. Atziri’s Contempt lets you apply stacks of "Bloodstone Lance" on the enemy every time you hit them with any of your spear skills.

These Bloodstone Lances are significant because you can make them explode when you use Shattering Spite (which is the skill that’s available to you when you wield Atziri’s Contempt). Pay attention to the number of Bloodstone Lances on the enemy because they provide additional effects when certain thresholds are met.

For instance, the life leech from the Bloodstone Lance explosions is applied to you instantly (instead of over a period of several seconds) when there are at least 15 stacks of Bloodstone Lance from nearby monsters.

Since Atziri’s Contempt is a "vaal unique item," you can spend a Vaal Cultivation Orb on it as well. Doing so may result in a number of incredible modifiers, including:

• (100-150)% Increased Elemental Damage with Attacks.
• Hits Have a (15-30)% Chance to Treat Enemy Monster Elemental Resistance Values as Inverted.
• +(2-4)% to Critical Hit Chance.

When you get lucky enough to get the "invert monster elemental resistance" corrupted modifier, you might as well allocate or instill "Dimensional Weakspot," It is a notable passive skill that does the same thing (albeit at only a 15% chance).

Flesh Crucible

Keystones are a class of passive skills in PoE 2 that provide some truly interesting effects. For example, Whispers of Doom is a keystone that lets you apply an additional curse at the cost of doubling the curse’s activation time. The next unique item we’re going to talk about allows you to gain the effects of a random keystone, provided that you are willing to tolerate its downsides.

The Flesh Crucible is a powerful unique item in Patch 0.4.0. It basically gives you the bonuses of any keystone on the passive tree. All you have to do is get the right one that works for your particular build.

Now, before you head out and buy a Flesh Crucible for yourself, there are a couple of important things to keep in mind. First, the Flesh Crucible always comes with a downside, whether you use a Vaal Cultivation Orb on it or not.

Second, you have to sacrifice one jewel slot to accommodate this unique item because this is essentially a unique diamond in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids.

Anyway, here are the possible stat penalties that can roll on the Flesh Crucible:

• (20-10)% Less Damage
• (20-10)% Less Maximum Life
• (20-10)% Less Maximum Mana
• (20-10)% Less Defences
• (20-10)% Less Spirit
• (20-10)% Less Movement Speed

Hysseg’s Claw

The rest of the new unique items in Patch 0.4.0 can be obtained as a random drop from the other activities in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. This means that you can also use the Orb of Chance to get them (if you are lucky), so long as you have the right item base.

With that out of the way, here we have Hysseg’s Claw. This is a low-level unique Talisman that is perfect for Werewolf Druids. Why? Hysseg’s Claw can boost your damage by up to 8% per minion. So, if you use Pounce liberally and summon multiple wolf companions from its Predator’s Mark, then your damage will increase significantly!

Aside from that, Hysseg’s Claw increases your movement speed as well. If you somehow got lucky and obtained these unique gloves at level 16, the 5% boost in movement speed they provide is actually quite welcome!

Lavianga’s Spirits

If you haven’t played the original game, there is a unique item that essentially makes certain flasks “activate at all times.” Although that item has not arrived in PoE 2 yet, there is one introduced in Patch 0.4.0 that also has automatic activation of some sort. I am talking about Lavianga’s Spirits.

Unlike other mana flasks in the game, Lavianga’s Spirits cannot be used manually. Instead, it continuously replenishes your mana, so long as it still has some flask charges left.

That is good and all, but the thing is, this flask has a huge downside. What is it, you ask? The amount of mana it recovers over two seconds is reduced by up to 80%, which means that this level 49 mana flask can only replenish up to 55.5 points of mana.

Interestingly, Poison Pathfinder builds in PoE 2: The Last of the Druids get a ton of value from Lavianga’s Spirits. Apparently, they leverage this unique mana flask’s constant flow by taking “Imbibed Power” to gain 25% increased damage at all times.

The Flesh Poppet

The Flesh Poppet is another unique talisman in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. However, unlike Hysseg’s Claw, this one is primarily used for its unique effect.

You see, The Flesh Poppet allows you to copy a random modifier for each enemy that is within your immediate vicinity. This modifier lasts for 30 seconds, or until the next time you shapeshift into another animal form.

You don’t even need to have this unique Talisman in your main-hand weapon slot because the copied modifier will linger even if you switch weapons.

It is important to note, however, that your presence area of effect is reduced anywhere between 30% and 40%. This means that this item may only copy random modifiers from several enemies at a time (at most).

Additionally, GGG has implemented a balancing change in Patch 0.4.0b, where any modifiers gained from The Flesh Poppet’s unique effect can no longer be scaled with “increased skill effect duration” modifiers. So, if you have allocated nodes on the passive tree specifically with the intention of making the copied modifiers last longer, you might have to refund those skill points and put them somewhere else.

Unforeseen Consequences

In case you were unaware, Abyss is now part of the core endgame loop in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. As is tradition, there are Abyss Precursor Tablets for it as well, which forces the said mechanic to appear in maps.

Unforeseen Consequences is a unique precursor tablet that adds up to six rare monsters from the Abysses found on your maps. This is a great way for you to earn a lot of experience points and provides you with a much higher chance of obtaining the rare PoE 2 unique items.

To maximize the maps that are improved by Unforeseen Consequences, make sure to allocate the following nodes on the Atlas Passive Tree:

• Stir the Swarm: Adds one more Abyss to your maps. Also provides a small chance for a nearby map to be overrun by the abyssal after completing an “Abyss” map.
• Close to the Surface: Explicit modifiers on your waystones (like “% Increased Rarity of Items Found in This Area” and “% Increased Pack Size) can apply to the Abysses in affected maps as well.
• Sprawling Rupture: Abysses in your maps spawn 25% increased monsters. Abysses in your maps are scattered throughout the area.

New Unique Items in Patch 0.4.0 (Part 2)—An Overview

+Get a Flesh Crucible that has the keystone passive that works well with your build.
+Get one that has a downside that is okay for your build to tolerate.
+Don’t waste a Vaal Cultivation Orb on this one, unless you have a Flesh Crucible with a really good keystone passive.

If you are going to wear Atziri’s Splendour, make sure to obtain one that has the right modifier that you need. Let the soul cores guide you to the correct choice on this matter.

The Pathfinder ascendancy class is quite popular in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. This is primarily because of the flexibility this ascendancy class has gained in Patch 0.4.0, where it can allocate nodes from the Warrior and Sorcereress’ starting points on the passive tree.

Because of that, you see a sizable portion of the community playing a variation of the Poison Pathfinder build. That is where Lavianga’s Spirits come into the picture. This unique mana flask tops off your mana pool consistently, allowing you to take advantage of “Imbibed Power” for that solid 25% increased damage mod.

Keystone passives are quite powerful in PoE 2. That is why I also recommend the Flesh Crucible despite its downsides. Just make sure to obtain one that perfectly complements what you are trying to achieve with your build.

Do these uniques require crafting, or do they drop exclusively from certain content?

Most of them can be obtained only by defeating Atziri, the Red Queen. However, Lavianga’s Spirits, The Flesh Poppet, and Hysseg’s Claw can be obtained as a random drop.

Are any of these new uniques class-specific?

Thankfully, no. Any class in the game can utilize these new unique items in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. Of course, you only use them if they make sense for your particular build.

Which of these new unique items is best for the Druid?

I’d have to say the Hysseg’s Claw and Fury of the King. Hysseg’s Claw makes your leveling journey a breeze, especially through Acts 1 to 3. As you transition to the more challenging content in the endgame, switch to Fury of the King to convert most of your physical damage to fire damage.

In addition, Fury of the King provides an added benefit, where you generate Glory every couple of seconds. Glory is a temporary resource that lets you activate certain skills, such as Ancestral Cry and Hammer of the Gods.

PoE 2 New Unique Items in Patch 0.4.0: Conclusion

GGG has introduced some pretty amazing unique items in Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids. Chief among them is Atziri’s Splendour, which allows you to socket up to six soul cores intended for other gear slots into this unique body armor.

The next thing I want to highlight is the Flesh Crucible. Keystone passives can literally make or break a PoE 2 build, so having the option of adding at least one more to your character will make it even more formidable, to say the least.
