That said, the Occultist is the preferred ascendancy class for this build because of its synergistic nodes, including Void Beacon (for -20% cold resistance to nearby enemies), Frigid Wake (for freeze immunity and 15% more cold damage), and Forbidden Power (for +1 Maximum Power Charges and 6% increased damage/area of effect per Power Charge).

Boneshatter Juggernaut

Despite the lack of any meaningful changes to the Boneshatter skill in Patch 3.29, the Boneshatter Juggernaut is still an excellent league starter in Path of Exile: Curse of the Allflame. This is especially true with the change in increased stun duration, where only maces, axes, attack staves, swords, and bows can roll the said modifier.

Having said that, the Boneshatter Juggernaut impresses with its balanced approach to offense and defense. The Juggernaut’s “Undeniable” node lets you increase attack speed just by focusing on improving accuracy rating. If you somehow get more Endurance Charges on your gear, you could take advantage of the damage increase provided by “Unyielding” and the damage reduction from “Unrelenting.”

While the regular Boneshatter works nicely already, you could switch to its transfigured version, Boneshatter of Complex Trauma, later on. The said transfigured gem grants more damage per Trauma stack (up to a certain extent), which makes it quite good in the endgame.

• Buffs from several golems thanks to “Liege of the Primordial” (crit chance from Ice Golem, increased damage from Flame Golem, increased cast speed from Lightning Golem, and increased defense from Stone Golem).
• Exposure debuff from “Mastermind of Discord,” which increases your damage by lowering the elemental resistance of affected enemies.
• Another damage boost from “Heart of Destruction,” which grants Convergence (30% more elemental damage).

In terms of gear, the Winter Orb Elementalist can utilize a rare wand with increased cast speed and the Light of Lunaris unique spirit shield, which grants spell critical strike chance and energy shield.
