Path of Exile: Mirage is quite fun, especially if you spend countless hours farming juiced maps and clearing Mirages while you’re at it. The Shock Nova of Procession Hierophant is one of those builds utilized for this specific purpose, and if you agree, then you’ll want to finish this article, for sure!

PoE: Mirage Shock Nova of Procession Hierophant Overview
Since we are well beyond league start at this point, I am only going to cover the endgame version of this build. Having said that, the Shock Nova of Procession Hierophant utilizes a transfigured version of Shock Nova, which has a lower cast time and has the inherent ability to repeat twice (without any intervention).
The cool thing about the said skill gem is that you can utilize one of PoE Exceptional Support Gems, namely the Greater Spell Echo Support, to cause additional repeats, and at increasing damage every time it does!
Although there are a couple of versions of this build that people use in the late game of Path of Exile: Mirage, this guide specifically covers the variant that uses Cloak of Defiance and Indigon. The former grants the effect of the Mind Over Matter keystone, which takes mana before life when you receive damage. The latter, on the other hand, boosts your damage by up to 2,000% for each 200 total mana you have spent using Shock Nova of Procession!
Indigon is not the only item that gives you a significant damage boost; you have Khatal’s Geyser and The Tides of Time as well. What this combination does is that The Tides of Time increases the effect of your flasks by 25%, and then Khatal’s Geyser takes that and applies that increased effect to improve Arcane Surge considerably!
The only downside here is that you cannot use Life Flasks to recover your HP because of Khatal’s Geyser. This is the reason why you need the Cloak of Defiance, because your survivability hinges on your large mana pool.
While you may notice that this build excels at clearing map monsters with ease, the Shock Nova of Procession Hierophant is actually awesome when it comes to defeating bosses, too! Since this build is capable of applying multiple curses on the enemy with the Anathema equipped, the enemy is stripped of its defenses, making them much easier to kill with multiple casts of Shock Nova of Procession!
Playstyle
Despite the many mechanics used on this build, the Shock Nova of Procession Hierophant is very easy to use! All you have to do is cast Shock Nova of Procession on any enemy you come across, and the mechanics will be activated automatically without additional user intervention.
When you encounter those tough enemies, use Arcanist Brand on them to apply Conductivity, Assassin’s Mark, and Elemental Weakness all in one go! In case you need more firepower, drop a Sigil of Power, and blast away!
This build also has incredible mobility due to Frostblink of Wintry Blast, which is linked with Faster Casting Support and Spell Echo Support. Use it liberally to move around the map.
Ascendancy Nodes
Take Conviction of Power after completing the first lab to improve your survivability and critical strike chance for free. Next, of course, is Arcane Blessing, as it gives you the Arcane Surge buff every time you cast Shock Nova of Procession.
When you have most of the items that this build needs, take Divine Guidance and Sanctuary of Thought as your third and fourth ascendancy nodes, respectively.
