Path of Exile: Vendor Recipes Every Beginner Should Know

66902 0

There is without a doubt that Path of Exile is the most complicated ARPG out there. That is, in large part, due to the many mechanics that developer Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has added over the years.

But, despite the game's complexity, GGG does provide players with multiple avenues to go through the campaign without having too hard of a time doing so. With that said, if you are a complete beginner in PoE, you need to learn some vendor recipes.

In this guide, we will tell you what they are, as well as the recipes that you need to use to help you during league start.

What Are They?

Vendor recipes in Path of Exile are a combination of items that you can sell to vendors so that you can get an entirely new item. It does not matter which vendor you sell your stuff to; what matters is the set of items you are going to put in the "Sells" tab.

Having said that, there are a plethora of vendor recipes in the game. Fortunately for you, we at RPGStash will provide you with the best ones so that you have a much easier time finishing the main campaign. In fact, there are certain recipes that are useful even if you are well into the endgame!

Stick around, read further, and learn. This is our ultimate guide to the vendor recipes that every Path of Exile beginner should know!

Basics

Before we talk about the different vendor recipes in PoE, it is imperative that you learn the basics first. When you press and hold the "Alt" key in-game, you will be presented with a bunch of new information that was previously concealed when you hover over an item. One of the most important things that you need to look at is the "item level" because it has an influence over which items you are going to get when you sell stuff to the vendor.

For example, if you sell one of each gear in the game, including a weapon, helmet, body armor, gloves, boots, belt, amulet, and ring, the lowest item level is going to dictate what type of currency you will be getting. So, if the lowest item level of the bunch is below ilvl 74, you will obtain a Chaos Orb. What happens when the lowest item level is above 74? Well, you get a Regal Orb instead.

Another important thing to note here is to look at the tags an item has. When you glance at a gem and it has a "Fire" tag on it, you can utilize that along with a combination of other gems and items to produce something that is related to that particular gem.

That is why you should always use the Alt key to learn some key information about the items you are going to sell, most notably when you are thinking about acquiring certain things via vendor recipes.

The next thing you need to be aware of in the topic of vendor recipes is the modifiers (aka mods) on gear. Modifiers are effects that can be found on the items themselves. A blue item can only have up to two mods, while rare items can have up to six.

Mods are significant because there are some vendor recipes that require you to sell items that have higher-tier mods on them. Such modifiers are those that are not commonly found on items that drop on the ground, including "+1 to Level of All Chaos Spell Skill Gems" or "+% to All Maximum Resistances" and many more.

There are three different item rarities in PoE. You can easily tell the rarity of an item just by looking at the color of its text. If the text color is white, then that is a "Normal" item. If the text color is blue, then that item is of "Magic"rarity. And, if the text color is yellow, then it is a "Rare" item.

Now, make it a habit to collect all of the items you come across during league start even if you do not need them for now. That is because they will be useful to acquire certain pieces of gear that can help you on your journey in Wraeclast.

Once you have the required items in your possession, all you have to do is drag the items from your inventory screen to the sell window. You should see a preview of the resulting item to confirm that the vendor recipe has worked before you press the "Accept" button.

If the outcome is not what was originally envisioned, you have probably placed the wrong item in the sell window. To rectify that, go look at your normal inventory and then look for the item that satisfies the materials for the desired vendor recipe.

Since most vendor recipes in PoE require multiple items, it is cumbersome to have to drag them one by one into the sell window. The good news is that you can press and hold the "Ctrl" key and just click on the items that you want to sell. Doing it this way can help save you a ton of time in the process.

Buy Cheap PoE Currency and Items

Currency

There are many different currency items in Path of Exile, but the commonly used one to purchase the more "affordable" pieces of gear is the Chaos Orb. Anyway, in this section, you will learn what items you need to sell to the vendor to get some much-needed currency, especially early on in the league.

Chaos Orb

  • Weapon (any of the following):

    • 1 Two-handed weapon
    • 2 One-handed weapons
    • 1 One-handed weapon + Shield
    • 2 Shields
  • 1 Helmet
  • 1 Body Armor
  • 1 Gloves
  • 1 Boots
  • 1 Belt
  • 1 Amulet
  • 2 Rings

The Chaos Orb is one of the most important currency items in the game. When it is used, it rerolls the modifiers on a rare (yellow) item, giving you a set of new random mods as a result. This is the PoE currency typically used in trading for the more affordable items on the trade website.

While Chaos Orbs can drop from anywhere, they are a bit rare when you are still on the main campaign. The good news is that there is actually a vendor recipe that guarantees one Chaos Orb and that is by putting one of each piece of gear in the Sell window when talking to any vendor in the game.

Take note that the ilvl of the lowest level item should be below 74. Otherwise, you end up getting a Regal Orb rather than a Chaos Orb.

Orb of Alteration

  • Sell magic or rare items (must be identified)

Although not utilized as a currency for trading items in Path of Exile, the Orb of Alteration is still one of the most useful orbs of the game. This is normally used to reroll the modifiers of a magic (blue) item and is considered a cheaper way of getting the desired mods. This is sometimes referred to in the PoE community as the "Alteration method of crafting".

You can get an Orb of Alteration by vendoring identified magic or rare items. For instance, you obtain five Alteration Shards when selling a pair of rare boots with a "% Increased Movement Speed" modifier.

Collecting 20 pieces of Alteration Shards will automatically be converted into a single Orb of Alteration.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img2

Orb of Alteration

Orb of Alchemy

  • Sell an item with a higher-tier mod (i.e. Added chaos resistance mod)

The Orb of Alchemy is one of the vital currency items in the early game simply because it transforms a normal (white) item into a rare one. The process of acquiring an Orb of Alchemy is the same as Orb of Alteration, albeit the items you are going to sell must have higher-tier mods.

If you want to acquire more, you can take advantage of the vendor recipe where you sell a piece of identified gear that has "+1 to Level of All Cold Spell Skill Gems" or other similar mods.

Just like the Orb of Alteration, getting 20 Alchemy Shards will instantly be converted to a single Orb of Alchemy.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img3

Orb of Alteration

Orb of Transmutation

  • Sell unidentified items

The gear that drops from enemies usually needs to be identified with a Scroll of Wisdom before you can equip them. But, you can sell them outright for Transmutation Shards. Obtain 20 of these shards and they automatically get converted to a single Orb of Transmutation.

Orb of Transmutation is a currency item in PoE that transforms a normal item into a magic item. This is a necessary step, particularly when you want to use the Alteration method of crafting.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img4

Orb of Transmutation

Orb of Augmentation

  • Rare item with six affixes

As mentioned earlier, a rare item in Path of Exile can have up to six different modifiers. When you sell such an item to a vendor, you will get an Orb of Augmentation in return.

The Orb of Augmentation is also used for crafting. So, how is it utilized? It is usually used in conjunction with the Orb of Alteration. You see, the Orb of Alteration can sometimes result in only one affix. If you already have a desired mod, say, +1 to Level of Lightning Spell Skill Gems, you can add another affix on a blue item if you use an Orb of Augmentation.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img5

Orb of Augmentation

Orb of Scouring

Crafting is a huge part of Path of Exile as it is the only way to get an item with all of the highly coveted mods. You might sometimes come across people talking about "mirror-tier items", which are mostly rare weapons or synthesized items with good implicit and explicit modifiers.

Now, PoE crafting is strongly based on RNG. This means that items used for crafting, such as Orb of Alteration or Chaos Orb, must be used numerous times until the desired result is achieved.

During the crafting process, you might end up with equipment that does not have the right mods on it. Luckily, you can start all over again by using an Orb of Scouring.

Orb of Scouring is another random drop in Path of Exile. However, there is a vendor recipe that guarantees that you get an Orb of Scouring each and every time. Anyway, to get an Orb of Scouring, you must do this:

  • Sell any rare item with two affixes. This can be done by using a Regal Orb on a magic item with one mod on it, or an Orb of Annulment on a rare item with three modifiers
path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img6

Orb of Scouring

Chromatic Orb

  • Any helmet, gloves, body armor, weapon, shield, and boots with linked red, green, and blue sockets

Certain pieces of gear in Path of Exile can come with different-colored sockets, such as red, green, and blue. The colors of these sockets are important because you can only insert gems that correspond to the specific color on the gear. For instance, red gems can only be inserted into red-colored sockets.

If you want to change the socket colors of an item, you have the Chromatic Orbs for that purpose. These orbs are hard to come by in the early game, but the good news is that there is a specific vendor recipe for that.

Just put any socketed equipment that has linked red, green, and blue sockets in order to obtain a Chromatic Orb.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img7

Chromatic Orb

Jeweller's Orb

  • Body armor with six sockets

The Jeweller's Orb is an essential currency item in PoE. That is because it rerolls a socketed item to get either a lower or higher number of sockets than it currently has.

During your leveling journey, some monsters in the game will occasionally drop a body armor that has six sockets on it. This is already a vendor recipe because when you sell this, you will obtain seven Jeweller's Orbs in the process.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img8

Jeweller's Orb

Orb of Fusing

  • Body armor with six linked sockets

The vast majority of Path of Exile builds would normally put their main gem setups on the body armor. The reason is that the body armor is one of the only pieces of gear that can have six sockets linked together.

To link the sockets, you will spam the Orb of Fusing on any socketed piece of gear until you achieve the desired result. Of course, since everything in Path of Exile is heavily influenced by RNG, you'd have to use numerous Orbs of Fusing to get what you need.

That said, you can acquire 20 Orbs of Fusing when you sell a six-linked body armor to any PoE vendor.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img9

Orb of Fusing

Regal Orb

  • Weapon (any of the following):

    • 1 Two-handed weapon
    • 2 One-handed weapons
    • 1 One-handed weapon + Shield
    • 2 Shields
  • 1 Helmet
  • 1 Body Armor
  • 1 Gloves
  • 1 Boots
  • 1 Belt
  • 1 Amulet
  • 2 Rings
  • Note: The item level of the lowest level item should be 75 and above
  • Alternate vendor recipe: three identified rare items with the same name, all at 20% quality

The Regal Orb is akin to an Orb of Transmutation, except that this one converts a blue item into a rare item. The main vendor recipe to obtain this is almost the same as that of the Chaos Orb, though the major difference here is that the item level should be 75 or above for the lowest level item of the bunch.

Alternatively, you can sell a few identified rare items to a vendor, provided that the base item should be of the same name (ex. 3x Imbued Wand, 3x Opal Sceptre). Moreover, each of these items should have 20% quality.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img10

Quality Items

  • Armourer's Scrap:

    • 1 Normal Armor (20% Quality)
  • Blacksmith's Whetstone:

    • 1 Normal Weapon (20% Quality)
  • Glassblower's Bauble:

    • 1 Normal Flask (20% Quality)
  • Cartographer's Chisel:

    • 1 Map (20% Quality)
  • Gemcutter's Prism:

    • Gems that add up to 40% quality OR 1 Gem with 20% quality

There is a category of currency items in PoE that are classified as "Quality" items. They are called as such because they increase the quality of a specific type of equipment.

Armourer's Scraps increase the quality of any piece of armor. Blacksmith's Whetstones improve the quality of weapons. Cartographer's Chisels increase map quality when used. Glassblower's Bauble and Gemcutter's Prism are used to improve the quality of flasks and gems, respectively.

With that said, the first four can be obtained by selling a 20% quality item of the same category regardless of rarity (normal, magic, rare). However, since Patch 3.23, the vendor recipe for the Gemcutter's Prism has been tweaked a little bit. Now, you'd have to sell a combination of gems that can reach up to 40% quality in total to get a single Gemcutter's Prism. Alternatively, you can sell a single gem with 20% quality right off the bat.

The change to the Gemcutter's Prism vendor recipe is likely because of the introduction of Transfigured Gems in Patch 3.23.

Leveling Gear

PoE vendor recipes are quite helpful, especially early in the league where you do not have access to pretty good gear yet. In this section, you will find the common vendor recipes that allow you to get your hands on some amazing items, which can aid you in your race to reach White or Yellow maps as fast as possible.

Resistance Rings

  • Ruby Ring:

    • 1 Iron Ring
    • 1 Red Gem
  • Topaz Ring:

    • 1 Iron ring
    • 1 Green Gem
  • Sapphire Ring:

    • 1 Iron Ring
    • 1 Blue Gem

In Path of Exile, capping your elemental resistances is a must in order for you to survive. During league start, you can take advantage of the vendor recipe to obtain some rings that have elemental resistance as an implicit modifier.

The base item to craft these rings is an Iron Ring. This particular item can drop in the early acts, so you should have no problems obtaining it. Having said that, secure one of each colored gem so that you can use the vendor recipe outlined above.

Do you need more fire resistance? Craft a Ruby Ring. Does your cold resistance require a bit of a boost? Then craft the Sapphire Ring. How about your lightning resistance? Is it sorted out already? If not, craft the Sapphire Ring.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img11

Resistance Ring Vendor Recipe (Sapphire Ring)

Prismatic Ring

  • 3 Two-Stone Rings

If you want a ring that covers all of the elemental resistances, then the Prismatic Ring is for you. To get this via vendor recipe, sell three pieces of Two-Stone Rings that have different stone combinations.

By "different stone combinations", we mean that the base rings should have different elemental resistances, such as fire/cold resistance, fire/lightning resistance, and cold/lightning resistance.

Attribute Amulets

  • Agate Amulet:

    • 1 Amber Amulet
    • 1 Lapis Amulet
    • 1 Orb of Transmutation
  • Turquoise Amulet:

    • 1 Jade Amulet
    • 1 Lapis Amulet
    • 1 Orb of Transmutation
  • Citrine Amulet:

    • 1 Amber Amulet
    • 1 Jade Amulet
    • 1 Orb of Transmutation
  • Onyx Amulet:

    • 1 Amulet of any kind
    • 1 Red Gem
    • 1 Blue Gem
    • 1 Green Gem

All items and gems in the game have certain attribute requirements that have to be met before you can use them on your character. There are multiple ways to gain some much-needed attributes - one of which is by equipping an "attribute" amulet that contains a combination of STR, DEX, or INT.

For this vendor recipe, you will need to secure a couple of amulets depending on the stats that you need. If you need more STR and INT, for example, you can acquire an Agate Amulet by vendoring an Amber Amulet and a Lapis Amulet together with an Orb of Transmutation.

If you need a combination of all three attributes, you can go for the Onyx Amulet instead. Obtain a Normal amulet of any kind and then put one gem of each color.

Increased Physical/Spell Damage Weapon

  • Physical Damage Weapon:

    • Any normal weapon
    • 1 Magic/Rare Rustic Sash
    • 1 Blacksmith's Whetstone
  • Spell Damage Weapon:

    • Any normal weapon
    • 1 Magic/Rare Chain Belt
    • 1 Blacksmith's Whetstone

You should definitely equip a good weapon that has a damage modifier on it. Doing so will give you a much easier time finishing the entire campaign of Path of Exile with only some minor issues.

To craft a physical damage weapon, get your preferred melee weapon to be used as a base, and then add a magic or rare Rustic Sash coupled with a Blacksmith's Whetstone. Of course, you'd want to use a rare item to get higher damage bonuses.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img14

Increased Physical Damage Weapon

For the spell damage weapon, the process is similar, except for the belt that you are going to use. Instead of a Rustic Sash, you will be using a magic or rare Chain Belt. If you opt for the latter, the resulting wand/sceptre will have the "Adept's" prefix on it, which gives you a 20% increased spell damage modifier.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img15

Flat Added Elemental Damage Weapon (Attack)

  • 1 Normal/Magic/Rare Weapon
  • 1 Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz Flask
  • 1 Orb of Augmentation

If you are running an attack skill build like the Lightning Strike Champion, for example, you can gain great benefits by using a weapon that has some flat added elemental damage.

Now, this PoE vendor recipe dictates that you use a normal weapon at first that is coupled with one elemental resistance flask and an Orb of Augmentation. The flask you are going to use is important because it will be the determining factor as to what flat elemental damage type will be on the weapon itself.

When you use Sapphire Flask, the resulting weapon will be one that has the x added cold damage explicit modifier.

The same vendor recipe can also be used to "upgrade" the existing weapon. Following the example above, if you have a high-tier magic weapon that has the x added cold damage mod, you can upgrade that by putting a Sapphire Flask from your inventory screen to the sell window along with an Orb of Augmentation.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img16

Movement Speed Boots

  • Any pair of boots
  • Quicksilver Flask
  • Orb of Augmentation

In the earlier levels of the campaign, traversing the different areas is quite a chore simply because your character's movement speed leaves a lot to be desired. To give you a noticeable speed boost, you can sell any boots of Normal rarity, a Quicksilver Flask, and an Orb of Augmentation. Doing so will always guarantee the same pair of boots, albeit with a movement speed modifier on them.

The first time you use this vendor recipe, the resulting boots will have "10% Increased Movement Speed". You can then "upgrade" this by using the same vendor recipe until you achieve 30%.

Take note that the upgrade works for any rarity boots as long as they have a movement speed modifier.

Movement Speed Boots Vendor Recipe

+1 Spell Skill Gems Weapon

  • Any normal wand, sceptre, staff, or rune dagger
  • Gems with matching tags that have a total of 40% gem quality

Spell skill gems, or those gems that have the "Spell" tag on them, greatly benefit from higher gem levels. That is why using a weapon that has the "+1 to Level of All Spell Skill Gems" is beneficial for builds that use spells as their main source of damage. That being said, there are a variety of vendor recipes out there but the main differences are the weapon you are going to use as a base and your preferred damage type.

Grab a wand, sceptre, staff, or rune dagger of Normal rarity, and then sell them along with a bunch of gems that have a total of 40% gem quality. It does not matter how many gems you are going to include in the Sell window, so long as they reach 40% quality and they have the same damage type.

For instance, if you want a sceptre with the mod, "+1 to Level of All Fire Spell Skill Gems", you need to sell a Normal sceptre plus a combination of gems that have the "Fire" tag on each one of them to any PoE vendor.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img18

+1 Fire Spell Skill Gem

Chaos Resistance Ring/Amulet

  • Any ring or amulet
  • 1 Amethyst Flask
  • 1 Orb of Augmentation

When you reach the endgame of Path of Exile, it is imperative that you have some chaos resistance on your character. That is because most bosses deal chaos damage, which can be devastating if you do not have any resistance to mitigate the said damage type.

Fortunately, you can use the PoE vendor recipe that involves selling any ring or amulet of your choosing along with an Amethyst Flask and Orb of Augmentation. You might have to use this recipe a number of times to achieve a higher-tier chaos resistance mod.

Buy Mirror of Kalandra

+1 Minion Level Helmet

  • Magic Helmet (preferably Bone Helmet
  • 1 Life Flask with "of Animation" suffix
  • 1 Orb of Alteration

All minion gems in the game have the "Spell" tag on them, which means that they get so much better the higher their levels are. That said, you can vendor a magic helmet, a "Life Flask of Animation", and an Orb of Alteration to obtain the mod, "+1 to Level of Socketed Minion Gems".

If you are wondering where you can get your hands on the particular life flask just mentioned, there is actually a specific vendor recipe for that. Sell a Bone Spirit Shield and a life flask (Greater Life Flask or above) to obtain one.

Hyrri's Bite

  • 1 Sharktooth Arrow Quiver (Normal rarity)
  • 1 Onyx Amulet
  • 1 Rain of Arrows skill gem
  • 1 Orb of Chance

If you are playing any of the popular bow builds in PoE, you will end up using a self-crafted rare quiver. However, there are some unique quivers that can help you finish the main campaign. You can even use them until you can craft a good quiver yourself.

One of those unique quivers is Hyrri's Bite. This thing comes with some attributes, x added cold damage, increased attack speed, and a "life per enemy hit" mod. What is not to love about this, right?

Anyway, the vendor recipe for this is a Sharktooth Arrow Quiver, an Onyx Amulet, the Rain of Arrows skill gem, and an Orb of Chance. The quiver can be found anywhere; may it be in the main campaign or in maps.

The Onyx Amulet can be purchased from NPCs or by vendoring any amulet along with one of each colored gem.

For the Rain of Arrows, you can get this skill gem by purchasing it from Lilly Roth in your hideout or in Act 6 Lioneye's Watch.

Since the Sharktooth Arrow Quiver needs to be of Normal rarity, don't forget to use an Orb of Scouring to achieve that.

Endgame Gear

When you have finished the main campaign, there are still some PoE vendor recipes that are still useful. This section is dedicated specifically to them. The items that are outlined in this section are great, especially for those who prefer playing in Solo Self-found or SSF.

Rerolled Unique Items

  • Three unique items = One unique item of the same name (unidentified)

Each unique item in the game can roll with different values. Of course, you want to get the maximum possible values to get the best results, but that is often easier said than done.

If you have three of the same unique items in your stash, you can actually sell them to a vendor to get the same item with possibly better rolls. Let's say you have three Brass Domes with horrible rolls, you can vendor them to get an unidentified Brass Dome in return. After doing that, all you have to do is use a Scroll of Wisdom and hope that the new unique item is better than the previous ones.

Take note that you cannot include a corrupted unique item in the bunch even if it is of the same name.

path_of_exile_vendor_recipes_every_beginner_should_know_img20

Unique Item Reroll

Grasping Mail

  • 60 Breach Rings (full inventory)

The Grasping Mail is used in a lot of endgame builds, most commonly in armor-stackers or those that require a ton of energy shield to deal incredible amounts of damage. That said, there are a couple of ways you can get your hands on the Grasping Mail.

You can farm the said body armor in the domains of each Breach boss, such as Esh, Tul, Uul-Netol, Xoph, and Chayula. Unless your build is capable of eliminating them in an effective manner, this is not the ideal way to do it.

If you find that defeating these bosses is too cumbersome, there is actually a vendor recipe for the Grasping Mail. You can get a Grasping Mail with random explicit mods by vendoring 60 Breach Rings. Yes, you've read that right, you need a full inventory of Breach Rings in order to get just a single Grasping Mail!

That is actually okay considering that the said body armor can roll with exclusive breach mods. For instance, you could get the Chayula mod, "50% Increased Global Defences" if you are lucky.

It is important to note that you cannot reroll the mods on the said body armor without sacrificing the Breach mod. However, you can fracture the Breach mod first by using a Fracturing Orb, then you can reroll the Grasping Mail with Essences, Harvest Crafting Options, or Chaos Orbs.

Now, if you are wondering where you can grab a ton of Breach Rings, you can run maps with Breaches in them. Alternatively, you can use the "Breach" Map Device option to guarantee that they will appear on the maps you are running.

The Taming

  • Berek's Grip
  • Berek's Pass
  • Berek's Respite

The Taming is an incredible unique ring that provides you with a lot of good stats, including elemental resistances, a chance to freeze/shock/ignite, and increased elemental damage with attack skills. This is typically used in Lightning Arrow and Tornado Shot Deadeye builds, but really any build that uses attack skill gems can definitely benefit from this.

Anyway, to get this ring via the Path of Exile vendor recipe, you must sell three unique rings: Berek's Grip, Berek's Pass, and Berek's Respite. The good news is that these rings can drop anywhere. In fact, it can even drop in early white maps as well.

Once you get a hold of all three, simply drag them from your normal inventory and into the sell window to get The Taming.

The Goddess Scorned

  • The Goddess Bound
  • 1 Elegant Sword (20% Quality)
  • 1 Combustion Support (with at least 1% quality)
  • 1 Orb of Fusing

The Goddess Scorned is an interesting unique weapon that is best used by builds that utilize fire damage over time to deal with the enemy. It gives a ton of physical damage, crit chance, critical strike multiplier, and fire resistance. What's more, it converts all of your physical damage to fire damage, and the Ignites that you inflict deal damage significantly faster than not having this Elegant Sword equipped.

Having said that, if you have The Goddess Bound hidden in your stash or inventory, now is the time to use it. That is because this unique Whalebone Rapier is one of the mandatory items for this specific vendor recipe. The Goddess Bound can be dropped anywhere and the chance of it appearing during your map runs is relatively high, so you should not have any problems getting one.

You will also need an Elegant Sword, which you can find as a random drop. Some of the NPCs in the latter acts of the campaign may have this weapon on offer as well. Be sure to look at what they sell from time to time and you might be able to snag an Elegant Sword up. The vendor recipe requires that the Elegant Sword has 20% quality. Hence, use Blacksmith's Whetstones until you achieve this.

The Combustion Support can be purchased from Lilly Roth as early as Act 6. Additionally, this support gem is given as a reward for one of the missions in the campaign. Because you need this gem to have at least 1% quality, don't forget to use a Gemcutter's Prism to achieve this.

Kingmaker

  • 1 Soul Taker
  • 1 Heartbreaker
  • 1 Orb of Fusing

The Kingmaker is an amazing weapon, particularly if you run a minion build that has the Animate Guardian spell skill gem equipped. That is because this weapon grants several useful buffs, including increased item rarity, critical strike multiplier, fortification, and the ability to instantly cull enemies if they are below 10% of their max life.

Anyway, the vendor recipe for the Kingmaker requires you to have two of its components: the Soul Taker and Heartbreaker. Fortunately, these two unique weapons can drop anywhere. You just have to be diligent in farming maps until you get your hands on both of them.

When you have the necessary components in hand, just put the Soul Taker, Heartbreaker, and an Orb of Fusing into the sell window and you are good to go!

Loreweave

  • 60 Unique Rings

The Loreweave is often overlooked, but this unique body armor is actually quite special. It has a unique effect where your maximum resistances are set anywhere between 76% to 78%. Besides that, the Loreweave is guaranteed to have six sockets, saving you a ton of Jeweller's Orbs, which is quite helpful during league start scenarios. The added physical damage to attacks and global critical strike chance are nothing to scoff at either.

So, how exactly do you get the Loreweave? Well, you can vendor an inventory's worth of unique rings. In other words, you need to sell a total of 60 unique rings in order to get one Loreweave. Luckily, you can vendor any unique ring you can find and they can even be corrupted ones as well.

Reset Bandits

  • 20 Orb of Regret
  • 1 Onyx Amulet

During PoE's main campaign, there will come a point where you have to choose which bandits you save and which ones you are going to kill. Some guides might tell you to save Alira, mainly because she grants you some mana regeneration, global crit strike multiplier, and elemental resistances. You can certainly do that, notably during league start when you still do not have access to good equipment yet.

But, when you are finished with all of the Acts, you are now better off getting two passive skill points instead. Do not worry if you have chosen Alira or any of the other bandits during your playthrough because you can reset the favor to still get the free passive skill points.

To do this, all you need to do is vendor 20 Orbs of Regret and an Onyx Amulet. This will result in a book that, when right-clicked, gives you the passive points that you can use to complete your build.

Take note that the Onyx Amulet should be of Normal rarity and is not corrupted.

Vaal Orb

  • 7 Vaal Skill Gems
  • 1 Sacrifice Fragment

The Vaal Orb is an essential currency item in Path of Exile that allows you to "corrupt" an item to possibly get some good corrupted implicit modifiers. This orb can be used to corrupt a level 20/20% gem in the hopes of either increasing its level to 21 or by raising its gem quality to 23%

While Vaal Orbs can certainly be acquired anywhere, you can vendor seven Vaal Skill Gems along with a Sacrifice Fragment. Vaal Skill Gems are obtained by completing the Vaal Side portals that may appear randomly during your map runs.

The Sacrifice Fragment is also a random drop. Sacrifice Fragments include Sacrifice at Dusk, Sacrifice at Dawn, Sacrifice at Noon, and Sacrifice at Midnight.

Reroll Rare Item Mods

  • 5 rare items of the same name and type

Just like unique items, you can actually get a free reroll on the mods of a rare item that is almost similar to using a Divine Orb. Basically, you sell five rare items of the same name and type. For example, if you sell Searching Eye Jewels, all of the five pieces should be Searching Eye Jewels as well. It is worth noting that you cannot vendor corrupted rare items. Otherwise, this recipe won't work.

Upgrade Oils

  • 3 oils of the same type = 1 Oil of a higher tier

If you do not have the Blight Stash Tab available, you can still upgrade oils to a higher tier if you sell a few of the same type. Let's say you want a Golden Oil to anoint your amulet with Charisma or something, you can get one by selling three Silver Oils.

Upgrade Essences

  • 3 Essences of the same type/tier = 1 Essence of a higher tier

The same principle is applied to Essences. You can upgrade a lower tier Essence by putting three of the same type and tier to the sell window. Doing so will guarantee the same type of Essence, albeit the resulting one is a tier higher.

For instance, if you have three Shrieking Essence of Loathing, you can vendor all of them to an NPC and it will come out as a single Deafening Essence of Loathing. This vendor recipe is ideal during league start when everyone is still scrambling to get their hands on as many high-tier Essences as they can.

Upgrade Scarabs

  • 3 Scarabs of the same name/tier = 1 Scarab of a higher tier

Scarabs are an essential part of your endgame journey in Path of Exile. That is because they grant additional bonuses to your maps, making them more lucrative than ever.

Having said that, you can sell three Scarabs of the same name and tier to get a Scarab of a higher tier. This is very useful when you have plenty of Polished Scarabs in your inventory and you want to convert them to Gilded Scarabs for better bonuses.

Upgrade Maps

  • 3 Maps of the same name/tier = 1 Map of a higher tier

As you can already tell, you can upgrade maps to a higher tier if you sell three of them to an NPC. You will find this specific vendor recipe quite helpful, especially if you are playing on Solo Self-found or SSF.

Final Thoughts

There you have it! Vendor recipes in Path of Exile are very helpful no matter which stage of the game you are currently in. During league start, you can utilize vendor recipes to get your hands on some leveling gear to make your progression so much smoother.

During the endgame, you can reroll certain mods, reset bandits, or even upgrade some currency items just by vendoring a specific assortment of items and gear. Since this guide is so comprehensive, be sure to bookmark this so that you can revisit it at any time.

With all of that said, good luck on your adventures in Wraeclast, Exile!
