The Ranger class in Path of Exile 2, wielding a bow and arrow, can clear monster packs with little effort required. She can have tons of evasion with certain avenues for adding energy shield if needed.

If you want to know the best Ranger Builds in Path of Exile 2, then you will find what you are looking for in this article. We will cover all the skills, gems, and passive skills needed for each build to function.

Endgame bows and unique items need a substantial amount of investment. So, if you are going to try any of the Ranger Builds in this article, head to our PoE 2 Store for all the bows and other gear you need!

Why Choose the Ranger?

So, why should you pick the Ranger class among the five other classes you can pick in PoE 2 Early Access? Well, there are three good reasons.

First, the Ranger is a pure evasion class, which is more reliable than armor in the current version of the game. Even though GGG buffed armor's ability to mitigate physical damage, evasion is still better for overall survivability because enemies are less likely to hit you.

Second, the bow does not have the annoying downside inherent to the crossbow, where you have to reload every so often to further use your skills. Additionally, you can equip a quiver that has good stats for mapping and bossing, including added physical damage, attack speed, and mana per enemy killed.

Third, your success in the endgame of Path of Exile 2 hinges on how quickly you can decimate bosses and clear maps. The Ranger is one of the three classes in the game that can effectively do this, particularly with enough investment to gear!

As an aside, the Ranger can go for energy shield nodes on the passive tree for some additional defense. Both evasion and energy shield work great together, so much so that taking the Chaos Inoculation keystone passive is quite possible. Read our PoE 2 best keystone passive guide for more details about this.

Best Ranger Skills to Use

If you have checked out our previous guide on how to make the best Ranger Build in Path of Exile 2, some skills are still quite effective to this day. However, Explosive Shot is not going to be included in this article anymore because it doesn't scale too well damage-wise, which is why its popularity has dropped significantly. So, what are the current best Ranger Skills to use?

Lightning Arrow

Lightning Arrow remains one of the best Ranger Skills to use in PoE 2. This is true even after the implementation of the recent update, Patch 0.1.1c.

By scaling physical damage, you can make Lightning Arrow more effective, especially when you factor in its chaining lightning beams.

Don't forget to quality it up to 20% with PoE 2 Gemcutter's Prisms to fire an additional chain lightning to a nearby target.

Lightning Rod

If every Warrior Build in PoE 2 has Hammer of the Gods, then the best Ranger Builds have another skill they can rely on as well. This is, of course, the Lightning Rod.

Not to be confused with a notable passive skill of the same name, the Lightning Rod is a pretty reliable and effective way to kill map bosses easily. By preloading multiple Lightning Rods on the ground before the boss fight begins, you can instantly deal burst damage by doing so!

Lightning Rod also has two complementary skills. The first is Lightning Arrow, which is why you use it in conjunction with Lightning Rod whenever you encounter a rare monster while mapping. The second skill is…

Orb of Storms

That's right! It is not exactly a bow skill, but it is used by most Ranger Builds primarily to maximize the Lightning Rod's chaining lightning for some serious burst damage! Whenever you have placed multiple Lightning Rods, cast Orb of Storms directly on top and see magic come alive!

Ice Shot

A better skill in terms of damage, clearing potential, and survivability than Lightning Arrow, Ice Shot is another amazing skill for the Ranger. By utilizing a Dualstring Bow, you can fire three arrows capable of freezing enemies easily!

Herald of Thunder

Herald Skills in Path of Exile 2 are great for boosting map-clearing efficiency. Herald of Thunder scales well with lightning-based Ranger Builds because of the increased lightning damage nodes on the passive tree.

However, Herald of Thunder can be used by other Ranger Builds as well. This is possible by putting support gems that don't have anything to do with lightning damage, such as Glaciation, Cold Infusion, and Cold Penetration. This tech will be discussed in greater detail once we divulge all of the best Ranger Builds, so stick around to learn more!

Herald of Ice

In Path of Exile 2, you shatter enemies when you kill them while they're frozen. Freezing monsters can only be done when you deal cold damage, though. Fortunately, there is a way to make Herald of Ice work even if you run a Lightning Arrow build.

To do that, get some added cold damage on your rings and quiver. Besides that, wear the Polcirkeln ring so that you can shatter enemies even though they're not (really) frozen. The "shattering" part is necessary for the Herald of Ice explosions to occur.

Cast on Shock/Cast on Freeze

The good thing about PoE 2 compared to its predecessor is that you can activate plenty of skills at the same time. And no, you don't actually have to use them manually because you can automate some of them with the use of meta-skills.

Cast on Shock and Cast on Freeze are quite popular meta-skills for Ranger Builds because of the damage types of their primary skills. The former is definitely more famous, though the latter is gaining much traction as the Early Access League progresses.

Anyway, Cast on Shock enables you to trigger socketed skills automatically whenever you inflict Shock on your enemies. The same thing goes for Cast on Freeze, albeit you freeze enemies with cold damage rather than shocking them. By utilizing these meta-skills, you can incorporate Ball Lightning and Eye of Winter for more DPS and increased critical hit chance, respectively.

How about Cast on Critical? Yes, you can absolutely use that over the aforementioned two. The only reason why we didn't include it originally is that some Ranger Builds don't typically go crit in the late game. However, you can certainly use Cast on Critical if you like!

Wind Dancer

Having high amounts of evasion is a must for any budding Ranger in Path of Exile 2. The ability to evade attacks without prior user intervention is so helpful, especially during endgame mapping.

Wind Dancer provides you with a significant amount of evasion via a stackable buff that gains one stage every 1.3-1.5 seconds. Don't forget to increase its quality to 20% to add an additional stage.

Although you lose all of the additional evasion you get from Wind Dancer on hit, the buff goes back up again just by waiting a few seconds.

What is the Best Ranger Ascendancy Class?

At the moment, you can only choose between the Deadeye and the Pathfinder when you ascend your Ranger in Path of Exile 2. There seems to be an imbalance among ascendancy classes in PoE 2 because one is definitely better than the other. The same thing is true here as the Deadeye is the clear winner over the Pathfinder.

We believe that there are a few reasons for that. For one, the Deadeye can be seen as the “true” Ranger ascension because of her ability to deal more projectile damage (Point Blank), fire an additional arrow (Endless Munitions), and no accuracy penalty when firing at enemies from a distance (Eagle Eyes).

On top of that, the Deadeye can move faster because of the Tailwind buff granted by the Gathering Winds ascendancy node. With Path of Exile 2’s lack of movement abilities compared to the original game, it is not hard to see why most people opt for the Deadeye rather than the Pathfinder.

Even though the Deadeye can still be hit despite the high evasion, she can reduce the damage she takes from attacks considerably thanks to Wind Ward.

With all of those reasons, is Pathfinder really that bad? It’s actually not inferior at all. In fact, one of the best Ranger Builds we are going to talk about uses the Pathfinder as the preferred ascendancy class. However, it does need some improvements to make her more effective.

As of now, she excels at dealing poison damage due to Overwhelming Toxicity and Contagious Contamination. This means that if you are planning to try any of the poison-based skills in the game, then the Pathfinder is the way to go.

She also has access to several “concoction skills” like Fulminating Concoction, Shattering Concoction, Explosive Concoction, Bleeding Concoction, and Poisonous Concoction. Creative people can make use of these skills to great effect by thinking of the best combination of support gems and items to maximize their damage. However, only one of those concoction skills is viable from the mid-game to the end-game, so the other ones definitely need some improvement.

Best Ranger Builds

All right! This is the part that you’ve all been waiting for! The PoE 2 Ranger Builds that we will discuss in this section talk about endgame items that are worth plenty of PoE 2 Divine Orbs. That is just the nature of the game, where popular builds always have their necessary items priced higher over the others. This is just to tell you that some of the builds won’t work until you have access to the right gear.

It is also worth noting that a couple of these builds aren’t viable until level 90. This is because you need to allocate certain passive skills and equip some important items for them to function as best as they can.

With those things in mind, here are the best Ranger Builds in Path of Exile 2:

Lightning Arrow Deadeye

A top-tier map farmer with the potential to destroy any pinnacle boss in the game with the right gear, the Lightning Arrow Deadeye is undoubtedly one of the best in the game. This build is a great starter build, which allows you to gain more power as you progress through the campaign and into the Atlas.

You start out with mostly rare items, prioritizing increased attack speed and added physical damage to kill enemies with relatively good efficiency. After that, you raise your evasion rating as high as possible so you can take the Acrobatics keystone passive to dodge boss slams.

Do not settle for any bow. Just use the Dualstring Bow with high amounts of physical damage, increased attack speed, and mana per enemy killed. Later on, you can replace the mana mod with “Bow Attacks Fire 2 Additional Arrows.” You can resolve any mana issues you may have through your other items.

For skills, you have the bog standard combination of Lightning Arrow, Lightning Rod, and Orb of Storms. Lightning Arrow’s damage should be sufficient enough to kill most trash mobs. When fighting rare monsters, you can then utilize Lightning Rod and Orb of Storms together for that massive burst of lightning damage!

A Cast on Shock setup is used here mainly to cast Ball Lightning automatically. Ball Lightning and Lightning Rod can shred the life of enemies pretty quickly, making the former a solid addition to the build for improving damage output. This combination eats up your mana at a commensurate rate, which is why Inspiration Support is added to the mix to somehow reduce mana consumption.

Barrage is also a nice complement to Lightning Rod. When active, Barrage enables you to put down a good amount of Lightning Rods before the boss fight begins. Only use this buff against tough monsters.

For upgrades, invest in a corrupted Hand of Wisdom and Action, specifically with an improved intelligence effect (added lightning damage). To ensure that you won’t die when an attack hits you, invest in Olroth’s Resolve. This unique flask protects you with a barrier aptly named “Guard,” which absorbs damage before your life or mana dips.

Bow Shot Deadeye

Who would have thought that the default attack skill for bows could be built in a way that destroys all types of content in Path of Exile 2?

The Bow Shot Deadeye is exactly as you expect. This build heavily relies on the default attack skill (Bow Shot) to eliminate map monsters. People were sleeping on Bow Shot probably because it is already available to use at level 1 (but so is Lightning Arrow and Lightning Rod). Bow Shot has incredible potential—you just have to know how to harness its power.

To maximize its damage, you need to have a pretty high critical strike chance. That’s why a Visceral Quiver with a couple of crit mods as explicit modifiers is pretty much mandatory to ensure the overall success of the build.

Once you satisfy the DEX requirements of your gear, you can then allocate points to raise your INT as high as you can. This is so that you get a ton of lightning damage from Hand of Wisdom and Action. If the dexterity requirements are already sorted out by your gear, choose +5 INT on every travel node in the passive tree.

In addition, the Bow Shot Deadeye utilizes both Herald of Thunder and Herald of Ice. It is imperative that you have enough cold damage and lightning damage to attacks to effectively proc the two herald skills. You can have this modifier on your rings and quiver.

Speaking of which, you will equip Widowhail as your weapon. Get a corrupted version of this bow, so that it goes higher than 250% increased bonuses from your equipped quiver. This should help amplify the damage output of Bow Shot because the quiver has “+2 to Projectile Skills” as well.

Since this build only uses mana when utilizing Lightning Rod, Orb of Storms, and Ball Lightning (from Cast on Shock), you can take Mind Over Matter to transfer some of the damage you receive to mana. It goes without saying that having “Maximum Mana” modifiers on your gear is highly desired for improving survivability.

Has the Bowshot Deadeye build piqued your interest? If so, here are the skills you need if you want to try it out:

  • Bow Shot
    • Primal Armament

    • Concentrated Effect
  • Orb of Storms

Magnetic Salvo Deadeye

While not as popular as the Lightning Arrow as far as lightning-based skills are concerned, the Magnetic Salvo Deadeye can deal so much burst damage that it can potentially kill a boss in one go!

Lightning Arrow is still utilized here as a means of eliminating map monsters on sight. Use Heft, Primal Armament, Longshot, and Ambush to support Lightning Arrow and enhance its damage while mapping. Put these support gems on Magnetic Salvo when fighting bosses. To help you with map clear, instill "Doomsayer" on your amulet to increase the damage of your Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder.

The Magnetic Salvo Deadeye is a PoE 2 build that leverages high critical damage to obliterate bosses. It requires some setup for maximum damage, though, so listen up! Your main boss rotation involves the use of Voltaic Mark and Conductivity to make them more susceptible to Shock, as well as further reduce their resistance to lightning damage.

Next, drop as many Lightning Rods as you can. Look at the bottom part of the boss' name and see if they are affected by Shock and the Conductivity curse. If Shock is still not applied, fire Lightning Arrows until that happens.

Once the debuffs have been applied, press and hold the button for Bonestorm for a couple of seconds for the maximum amount of projectiles. The projectiles inflict another debuff, which makes affected enemies take increased physical damage. If you are wondering why this is needed, remember that Lightning Arrow and Magnetic Salvo do not fully convert physical damage to lightning damage, so using Bonestorm is pretty much for min-maxing the damage output of this build.

After all of that, simply use Magnetic Salvo and watch as the boss' HP gets depleted with a single cast! Yes, it is a bit cumbersome to apply all of the debuffs first before the finale, but you only have to do everything once anyway.

Now, to fit Bonestorm into this build, you have to equip an Unset Ring on one of your ring slots. Your rings must have INT, cold/physical damage to attacks, and some resistance. As you can tell, you'll also wear Hand of Wisdom and Action.

Although this build needs a high chance to land a critical hit, you only need a 35% crit chance for things to go smoothly. Once that is achieved, focus your attention on improving critical damage as much as possible. Just like the previous build, the Magnetic Salvo Deadeye uses a corrupted Widowhail (preferably with 290%+ increased bonus) and a Visceral Quiver with critical hit chance, dexterity, and critical damage bonus.

The "+2 to Level of All Projectile Skills" is not needed here, especially because it significantly increases the mana cost of your primary skills. Instead, you can opt for cold damage to attacks and projectile speed (the latter is converted to damage with bos due to Feathered Fletching).

Do you want to try an effective boss killer like the Magnetic Salvo Deadeye in Path of Exile 2? Then here is the optimal skill setup for the build:

  • Magnetic Salvo
    • Primal Armament
    • Elemental Focus
    • Inevitable Critical
    • Supercritical
    • Hourglass
  • Lightning Arrow
    • Martial Tempo
    • Overcharge
    • Conduction
    • Lasting Shock
    • Lightning Exposure
    • Note: Use Heft, Primal Armament, Longshot, and Ambush for mapping (Martial Tempo stays)
  • Lightning Rod
    • Scattershot
    • Concentrated Effect
    • Close Combat
    • Lightning Penetration
  • Cast on Shock
    • Eye of Winter
    • Voltaic Mark
    • Impetus
    • Inspiration
  • Herald of Ice
    • Lightning Infusion
    • Innervate
    • Magnified Effect
    • Cold Penetration
  • Herald of Thunder
    • Glaciation
    • Cold Infusion
    • Ice Bite
    • Lightning Mastery
  • Conductivity
    • Cursed Ground
    • Heightened Curse
    • Persistence
  • Grim Feast
    • Clarity
  • Wind Dancer
    • None
  • Bone Storm
    • Arcane Tempo
    • Lifetap
    • Ricochet
    • Physical Mastery
    • Note: Must wear an Unset Ring to fit this skill in the build
  • Ascendancy Nodes
    • Point Blank
    • Endless Munitions
    • Gathering Winds
    • Wind Ward

Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder

When Path of Exile 2 Early Access was released, many people stayed away from poison-based abilities because of the damage over time effect. At the time, no one knew that poison damage could scale well into the endgame. Enter, the Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder.

Before anything, Poisonous Concoction is a skill that is only available after you ascend to become a Pathfinder. Allocate the “Brew Concoction” ascendancy node and then choose Poisonous Concoction from the list of several possible skills.

Now, the damage over time component of poison in Path of Exile 2 scales from the combination of physical damage and chaos damage of the initial hit that inflicted the status ailment. If you want to get high damage numbers, you can invest in crit nodes on the passive tree, as well as critical hit chance mods on your gear.

Aside from allocating the appropriate nodes on the passive tree, there is a lot of critical hit chance to be had on equipment. Get a Visceral Quiver with the highest roll for critical hit chance for attacks on its explicit modifier. Amplify that with a corrupted Widowhail, preferably one with over 295% increased bonuses. This is quite expensive, ranging from 10-15 Divine Orbs at the time of writing. If you need Divine Orbs, go to our PoE 2 Currency Store.

The quiver must also have “+2 to Level of All Projectile Skills.” With enough increased bonuses from your gear, you can get your Poisonous Concoction to level 35 or higher once you reach character level 90.

For defenses, you will take Chaos Inoculation to make you fully immune to chaos damage. This means that you have to work on improving your energy shield as much as possible. You can go for INT-based gear with a couple of ES mods on the helmet, gloves, and boots. Go for a hybrid evasion/energy shield body armor like the Expert Waxed Jacket with at least 1,000 evasion and 300 energy shield.

The type of belt you use is also important because wearing the wrong one can significantly alter your clear speed and efficiency. That said, wear a rare Fine Belt (flask charges gained per second) that has Maximum Mana, Increased Flask Mana Recovery Rate, and Reduced Flask Charges Used as part of its explicit modifiers. The last modifier is mandatory because Poisonous Concoction eats up three flask charges per use, so you want to tone that a bit.

On the amulet, you want maximum energy shield, increased energy shield, and +3 to projectile skills. Your rings can have added physical damage to attacks, increased chaos damage, and dexterity. If you need more elemental resistance, your rings can help you address that.

Some jewels can also improve the damage output of this build exponentially. Get a couple of Sapphire Jewels with “Increased Magnitude of Damaging Ailments You Inflict with Critical Hits” and increased maximum energy shield. Additionally, obtain some Emerald Jewels with “Increased Bonuses Gained from Equipped Quiver” and put as many of them as your budget permits.

As for the skills needed for the Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder to work, they are:

  • Poisonous Concoction
    • Martial Tempo
    • Scattershot
    • Chaos Infusion
    • Deadly Poison
    • Chaos Mastery
    • Note: Swap Martial Tempo for Close Combat if you want to maximize your damage against bosses
  • Despair
    • Heightened Curse
    • Focused Curse
  • Eye of Winter
    • Withering Touch
    • Unleash
    • Persistence
    • Inspiration
    • Note: Only utilize this against rare monsters and bosses. When the monster has enough stacks of Critical Weakness (indicated by that 10% under their health bar), throw a plethora of Poisonous Concoction until they are dead
  • Alchemist’s Boon
    • Herbalism
    • Note: Herbalism gives you more energy shield since this build allocates “Eternal Youth” on the passive tree. The keystone is optional, so if you do not take it, you can remove Herbalism
  • Stormcaller Arrow
    • Conduction
    • Note: Shock can also boost poison damage. This is mainly used to inflict Shock. You have a higher chance of inflicting the said elemental ailment if you have added lightning damage on your rings as well
  • Voltaic Mark
    • Raises your chance to inflict Shock. Use on bosses
  • Wind Dancer
    • Blind
    • Clarity
    • Maim
  • Ghost Dance
    • Fast Forward
  • Grim Feast
    • None
  • Ascendancy Nodes
    • Brew Concoction (Poisonous Concoction)
    • Overwhelming Toxicity
    • Traveller’s Wisdom
    • Enduring Elixirs

Ice Shot Deadeye

Lightning damage can effectively output more when compared to the other elemental damage types in Path of Exile 2, but the last Ranger Build on this list incorporates that philosophy while using a cold-based skill.

The Ice Shot Deadeye is so comfortable to play due to its ability to freeze enemies from long range. Thanks to the impressive performance of both Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder, this build has no problems dealing with monsters in T15 maps or above. Since we're talking about the best versions of each build, you can wear the Headhunter while mapping to gain the modifiers of rare enemies after you defeat them!

Another interesting thing that the build is capable of is that it also uses Tornado Shot. Why is that, you ask? Well, Tornado Shot not only damages enemies, but you can shoot it with Ice Shot and the arrows from this skill are spit out in a circular fashion. This is not really necessary, though using this tech certainly looks cool!

Jewels hold a lot of power, which is why the Ice Shot Deadeye utilizes at least six—two of which are unique items. Grab an Against the Darkness jewel with extra lightning damage as one of its modifiers. This synergizes really well with the added lightning damage granted by Hand of Wisdom and Action.

The second unique jewel is Megalomaniac, specifically with Crushing Verdict and Essence of the Mountain. The former increases attack damage by a whopping 50%, while the latter provides 5% extra cold damage and 20% increased freeze buildup (to guarantee that you freeze enemies with Ice Shot).

As for the jewels, get emeralds with increased critical hit chance, critical damage bonus, and increased bonuses from equipped quiver. On sapphires, you can obtain some with increased cold damage, critical hit chance, critical damage bonus, and cold penetration.

During boss fights, swap Headhunter for a well-rolled Ingenuity. Use Lightning Rod and Orb of Storms for massive amounts of lightning damage. Along with Ball Lightning and Eye of Winter in a Cast on Shock setup, you can deal with the boss without a hitch!

If you don’t want Tornado Shot, you can replace it with Blink. This allows you to teleport a short distance and is a better ability to use for movement than the regular Dodge Roll. Only utilize this while mapping (deactivate Cast on Shock to gain enough Spirit for this).

That said, here are the ideal gems for the Ice Shot Deadeye:

  • Ice Shot
    • Martial Tempo
    • Primal Armament
    • Heft
    • Fork
    • Ambush
  • Lightning Rod
    • Scattershot
    • Close Combat
    • Conduction
    • Lightning Penetration
    • Concentrated Effect
  • Orb of Storms
    • Chain
    • Font of Mana
    • Font of Rage
  • Cast on Shock
    • Eye of Winter
    • Ball Lightning
    • Impetus
    • Inspiration
  • Herald of Ice
    • Innervate
    • Longshot
    • Magnified Effect
    • Lightning Infusion
  • Herald of Thunder
    • Cold Infusion
    • Glaciation
    • Ice Bite
    • Lightning Mastery
  • Wind Dancer
    • Blind
    • Maim
    • Cannibalism
  • Grim Feast
    • Clarity
  • Tornado Shot
    • Persistence
    • Life Thief
    • Overabundance
    • Note: Replace with Blink if you don’t need this
  • Blink
    • Arcane Tempo
    • Ingenuity
    • Note: Deactivate Cast on Shock to enable this. Use only while mapping
  • Ascendancy Nodes
    • Point Blank
    • Endless Munitions
    • Gathering Winds
    • Wind Ward

Tips

There is no doubt that the Ranger is one of the most popular classes in Path of Exile 2 right now. However, there are some issues that can only be addressed if you know what to do. Fortunately, you are reading our article, so you'll be getting some practical advice to get the most out of your Ranger Build. Anyway, here are some tips:

Mana Problems? Try These

One of the most common issues when playing the Ranger in PoE 2 is mana sustain. Builds that utilize Cast on Shock and Lightning Rod+Orb of Storms eat up so much mana that you are left with nothing if you cannot defeat the boss after you've exhausted everything you have.

The good news is that there are several things you can do to solve this problem. First, get a few items that have "Mana per Enemy Killed." This modifier can roll on your weapon, quiver, and ring.

Second, insert the Inspiration support gem on Lightning Arrow, Ice Shot, or Lightning Rod, whichever is the most problematic in terms of mana consumption on your build.

Third, invest in a Thief's Torment unique ring. This has the rare "Gain Mana per Enemy Hit with Attacks" modifier, which means that you'll never run out of mana so long as you constantly hit your target. If you already have mana on kill modifiers, you can wear the Thief's Torment only when fighting bosses.

And fourth, you can insert a couple of Sapphire Jewels with "Recover 2% of Mana per Kill." Combined with the items mentioned earlier, you shouldn't have any mana sustain issues while mapping!

If you have a ton of Divine Orbs and you don't have any idea what to buy next, you can obtain a Melting Maelstrom. Despite the amount of mana it says it can recover, it completely fills up your mana bar on use!

Use the Dualstring Bow

You can find different types of bows in the game but ultimately, you will settle for the Dualstring Bow. If you are playing the Deadeye ascendancy class, you can only fire two projectiles at a time. Utilizing this bow will make that three arrows per attack!

When you are still leveling up, the base bow does not matter so long as it has the correct modifiers. In the endgame, though, the Dualstring Bow cannot be matched in terms of performance and power.

Lower the Level of Your Skills

Skills in Path of Exile 2 get an increase in mana cost at every level. If you find yourself struggling to sustain mana, try reducing the level of your complementary skills like Orb of Storms, Eye of Winter, and Cast on Shock. Do not do this for Lightning Arrow or Ice Shot, though, because these skills are utilized to kill monsters quickly while mapping.

Should You Take Acrobatics?

Acrobatics is a pretty useful keystone passive in PoE 2 because it lets you evade all attacks (and yes, that includes boss slams). Most endgame Ranger Builds take Acrobatics simply because of how useful it is when fighting pinnacle bosses.

Having said that, you shouldn't allocate it if you don't have enough evasion. That's because of the keystone's downside, where you lose a ton of evasion rating when it's taken. So, should you take Acrobatics? Yes, but only if you have 90% evasion prior to getting this node.

What are the things that you can do to improve your overall evasion rating? Well, you can get a ton of evasion from body armor, as well as the rings, amulet, helmet, gloves, boots, and jewels. Furthermore, you can allocate certain nodes on the passive tree, such as Beastial Skin, Enhanced Reflexes, and Subterfuge Mask, among others.

Prioritize Physical Damage on Weapon

Even though you use skills that deal elemental damage, you still need a high amount of physical damage. Why? Most of your skills, including Lightning Arrow, Ice Shot, and Lightning Rod convert physical damage to their respective damage types. Having a ton of physical damage on the weapon allows you to improve your damage output significantly!

After conversion, though, focus on getting increased lightning/cold damage or increased elemental damage nodes on the passive tree. This is because damage conversion is different in PoE 2, where further scaling only happens when you take the nodes that affect the final damage type (as opposed to the damage you're converting).

Invest in Hybrid Evasion and ES Gear

Armor sucks in Path of Exile 2 despite the recent adjustments made to the said defensive layer in Patch 0.1.1. Having some energy shield to take damage before life is a great way to improve survivability in case you get hit. Your high evasion rating should still be good enough, especially when you allocate the Acrobatics keystone passive. That is why it's always a good idea to wear hybrid evasion/energy shield gear when playing the Ranger class in PoE 2.

Don't worry about the relatively high INT requirement on these pieces of gear because you'll be raising your intelligence exponentially anyway to maximize the Hand of Wisdom and Action, which is pretty much the gloves you'll wear in the endgame.

Final Thoughts

Proficient at killing enemies from afar while having tons of evasion to dodge attacks when needed, the Ranger in Path of Exile 2 is definitely worth checking out among the classes available in the game.

Due to its popularity, the price of items used by the Ranger class is typically very high unless you can snag a good deal. Fortunately, you don't have to scour the trade website for awesome discounts because we offer that and more on our PoE 2 Store! What are you waiting for?

That said, which of the best Ranger Builds do you find enticing and why? Let us know in the comments below. We'd love to hear what you have to say!
