The Sorceress is a very good class to play, whether you are a veteran in Diablo II: Resurrected or a completely new player. Her kit, which is filled with destructive spells and defensive abilities, is an asset to whoever plays her in any given ladder season.

In this article, I will talk about the best Sorceress builds in D2R Season 13. If you are still thinking about which Sorceress build to play, this article should help you make an informed decision!

Best Sorceress Builds in D2R Season 13

I will present the top Sorc builds for Season 13 of Diablo II: Resurrected in descending order. Even though one can argue that a particular build should be ranked higher, the thing is that all of these builds are fun to play, regardless of their placement on the list.

Without further ado, let’s get started by talking about a build that keeps the Sorceress up close and personal with the enemy.

5. Enchant Sorceress

Enchant Sorceress

The Enchant Sorceress (aka the “Enchantress”) is a fiery build in Diablo II: Resurrected Season 13 that is fun to use and is a breath of fresh air for those who don’t want to get into the typical spellcaster playstyle associated with the class. This build is known for its ability to destroy dense packs of monsters with exploding bolts that are coming out of the Demon Machine (unique crossbow).

Enchant is a Sorceress skill that adds fire damage to her weapons. This skill is improved by Fire Mastery, which is a passive available at level 30 that boosts fire damage by a certain percentage.

Interestingly, Fire Mastery’s damage boost can actually “double-dip,” providing an increase in damage on the initial cast of Enchant and from other sources of additional fire damage through gear (like socketed rubies in the weapon).

Enchant can also be cast on mercenaries, so having an Act 2 Mercenary with an ethereal Infinity will allow him to decimate enemies with ease.

If you want to play the Enchant Sorceress, make sure to invest in items that grant “+ to Enchant” or “+ to All/Fire Skills” because a high-level Enchant does wonders for this build!

4. Meteor Sorceress

Meteor Sorceress

Another Sorc build that deals insane amounts of fire damage, the Meteor Sorceress is a popular choice in D2R Season 13. Despite its name, this build actually utilizes two fire-based spells: Fire Ball and Meteor.

The reason is that Meteor has a cast delay of 1.2 seconds. In Diablo II: Resurrected, that is a considerable amount of time, especially when you consider the other spells available to the Sorceress, such as Nova, Chain Lightning, etc.

So, the ideal skill rotation is you cast Meteor first, lure the enemy towards its landing location, and then teleport to a safe distance so you can use Fire Ball until the monster is dead. Both Meteor and Fire Ball have a radius of 4 yards, so a bunch of monsters will get burned if they come close.

Since this build can only deal fire damage, it is best that you get the Renewed Flame Rift sunder charm to reduce the enemy’s fire resistance to acceptable levels.

3. Nova Sorceress

Nova Sorceress

One might argue that the Nova Sorceress should be ranked number one for the best Sorceress builds in D2R Season 13. I actually agree, but the thing is that the last two builds on this list are incredibly powerful as well. So really, whether you choose the Nova Sorceress or the builds that are higher on this list, you cannot go wrong with any of them!

Anyway, the Nova Sorceress uses a lightning-based spell that expands into a massive ring that can hit multiple enemies at once. This is especially useful against the Heralds of Terror, mainly because they are often surrounded by underlings when you encounter them.

If you face tougher enemies while playing this D2R build, you should use Static Field a couple of times before unleashing a Nova. This is because Static Field reduces the enemy’s HP by a considerable amount, so Nova acts only as a finisher in such situations.

The true power of the Nova Sorceress is unlocked when you invest in powerful gear, such as the Crescent Moon, Griffon’s Eye, and Skin of the Vipermagi, among others. Don’t forget to have your A2 Mercenary wield an Infinity Thresher for that Conviction Aura!

2. Blizzard Sorceress

Blizzard Sorceress

The Blizzard Sorceress is one of the most powerful Sorceress Builds in D2R Season 13 without question! This build utilizes a cold-based spell that is able to produce 25 shards of ice that rain down from the sky, each dealing substantial damage to those that are hit.

Many people love this build because its power can be felt as soon as Blizzard is unlocked, even more so when the higher FCR breakpoints are reached. This is the reason why the Blizzard Sorceress is often touted as the best ladder starter for those who want to play the Sorceress Class in Diablo II: Resurrected.

Blizzard is actually just one part of the equation, as this build utilizes Static Field and Ice Blast to deal with the enemy as well. Static Field, as you know, reduces the enemy’s HP by a percentage amount. Ice Blast, on the other hand, is best for dealing with single targets (like Ubers and Heralds of Terror).

You want to cast Blizzard first so that the shards of ice will start pouring down. As Blizzard is doing its thing, you are given the opportunity to cast Static Field and Ice Blast for maximum damage!

1. Lightning Sorceress

Lightning Sorceress

If there is one Sorceress build that can utilize an entire skill tree to its fullest, then look no further than the Lightning Sorceress. The build got its name because of its use of some devastating lightning spells, such as Chain Lightning, Charged Bolts, Static Field, Thunderstorm, and, of course, Lightning itself.

The skill rotation for this build varies, depending on whether you are playing with other people or not. For solo play, you simply cast Teleport to move around the farming area, and then destroy the main target with well-placed bolts of Lightning.

For group play, you can clear packs of monsters with Chain Lightning and Lightning, with the latter being a useful tool against tougher bosses.

Speaking of which, you should cast Static Field several times in order to reduce the HP of the boss to 50% of its maximum. After that, use Charged Bolt until they are appropriately dealt with.

When playing this build, I highly recommend that you learn the ability to “Telestomp” enemies. For the uninitiated, Telestomping is a combat tactic in D2R where you position yourself strategically and teleport in the direction of the enemy. When done right, you will end up directly on top of them. Telestomping optimizes the damage of Charged Bolts since the projectiles that said spell produces will all hit the intended target.

If you only have enough time to enjoy one Sorceress Build in D2R Season 13, then the Lightning Sorceress is definitely a top contender.

FAQ

Which Sorceress Build is Best for Solo PvE?

Easily, the last three builds mentioned in this article. The Nova Sorceress is able to destroy monsters with ease thanks to a lightning-based spell that covers a relatively large area.

The Blizzard Sorceress utilizes a few devastating cold-based spells—one of which drops 24 shards of ice that deal tremendous damage to nearby monsters!

Of course, the Lightning Sorceress is great for all content in D2R Season 13. This build has a few amazing spells that deal massive damage, and it’s up to you which one you should use based on the situation.

Which Breakpoint Should I Prioritize?

Aim to improve your Faster Cast Rate (FCR) as high as you can. Most Sorceress builds are excellent at 105 FCR (8 frames). However, the Lightning Sorceress is a special case because this build requires 117% FCR to achieve a 12-frame casting animation.

What Items Should I Invest in When Playing Sorceress Builds in D2R Season 13?

  • Heart of the Oak: +3 to skills, 40% FCR, and 15% increased to maximum mana.
  • Arachnid Mesh: Pretty much a Sorceress staple thanks to that +1 to skills and 20% FCR.
  • The Stone of Jordan: Increases maximum mana by a whopping 25%. It also increases all skill levels by one.
  • Infinity: But only when wielded by the Act 2 Mercenary. Infinity is a Sorceress’ best friend due to its Conviction Aura, which reduces the defense and resistances of nearby monsters by a significant degree.
