You're probably very excited to get your hands on all that there is to do in the new Varlamore content update in OSRS. There are new training methods, quests, and much more to explore in it. One of the most exciting things is that there's a new way to farm for a potent source of prayer points healing too.

Prayer potions can be costly to farm or to make but the new Varlamore update makes that much easier. If you're on an Ironman account, then becoming self-sustainable has just become easier. In this guide, we'll show you what you need to do to make the popular and new Moonlight Moth Mix.

What Is The Moonlight Moth Mix?

This is a new hunter's mix that was introduced to the game, along with everything else in the recent content update last March 20. It's a very powerful prayer potion that restores 22 points per use. Alongside the new Hunter Meats, the effectiveness of the potion is doubled, restoring 44 prayer points!

If you're inside a multi combat area, three other players close to you will be healed as well, but that's only if they turn on Accept Aid.

How To Make A Moonlight Moth Mix

To create a moonlight moth mix, you'll need the following:

  • At least 75 Hunter Skill
  • Butterfly net
  • Jar
  • Mortar and pestle
  • The following hunter meats: Raw Wild Kebbit, Larupia, Barb-tailed Kebbit, Graahk, Kyatt, Pyre fox, Sunlight Antelope, Dashing Kebbit, Moonlight Antelope.

You can only catch a moonlight moth once you reach level 75 with your Hunter Skill. At level 85, you can begin catching them barehanded but you'll still need a jar to store the moth. Opening a jarred moonlight moth will give you 22 prayer points. If you have a mortar and pestle, you can crush the moth and mix it with a specific hunter meat to create the moonlight moth mix.

The only real hard requirement here is the Hunter skill level but once you achieve that, the moonlight moth mix serves as what could be the cheapest prayer potion in the game right now.

Where To Farm Moonlight Moth

You can farm the moths in The Burrow, which is the underground area of the Hunter Guild. To gain access to the Hunter Guild, you first have to beat a short quest called Children of the Sun. This will introduce you to Civitas illa Fortis which opens up Varlamore to you. The Hunter's Guild is located at the center of Varlamore.

To reach there easily you must complete the quest “Twilight’s Promise” click here to check out our guide on how to complete this quest!

No More Prayer Potion Shortage

The moonlight moth mix makes prayer training and prayer casting a lot easier and cheaper in OSRS. It's going to be helpful if you find yourself always struggling to get enough potions. This will be especially useful for Ironman who always struggle to get enough prayer potions and also these potions can be a cheap alternative for methods that use redemption such as high level pickpocketing. We'll update this post once we know more of the best ways to start farming this potion!
